Su Jin Yue strode straight toward the luxurious car parked outside the library.

The sleek black vehicle was so familiar that she recognized it with just one glance.

The man in the driver’s seat immediately turned around.

“Miss!” Su Jin Yue looked at Assistant Feng, Su Zheng Ting’s right-hand man, and asked bluntly, “Uncle Feng, you were the one who pulled the strings to get me fired, weren’t you?” The hand resting on the steering wheel tightened slightly.

It was only the smallest flicker of movement, but it did not escape Su Jin Yue’s sharp eyes.

“So it really was you.” Su Jin Yue stated flatly.

“Miss, about this…” “I understand.

You don’t need to explain anything.” Su Jin Yue cut him off.

She turned her face toward the window, her gaze gradually turning cold.

“Take me to Shengshi Group.” Her voice was calm, yet carried an unmistakable finality that left no room for argument.

“I want to see my father.” Assistant Feng glanced at Su Jin Yue through the rearview mirror.

He knew her temperament well.

Once she made up her mind about something, no one could easily change it.

He said nothing more and simply started the car.

The vehicle slowly pulled away from the library.

The car came to a stop in front of the main entrance of Shengshi Group.

Without waiting for Assistant Feng to open the door, Su Jin Yue pushed it open and stepped out.

She stood in front of the building for a few seconds, slowly raising her head.

The towering Shengshi building rose high into the sky, its glass facade reflecting the dazzling sunlight.

People streamed in and out of the lobby, while impeccably dressed employees hurried about with the unmistakable sense of urgency that came with working for a major corporation.

This had once been a place she knew all too well.

When her grandfather was still alive and served as chairman of Shengshi Group, she often came here with him.

Back then, Shengshi was nowhere near the size it was today, but to Su Jin Yue, this place had always felt like a second home.

She used to run through its corridors, sit quietly in her grandfather’s office for hours, patiently waiting for him to finish his work before they went home together.

The employees back then all knew she was the chairman’s only granddaughter.

Whenever they saw her, they would greet her warmly.

Some would even sneak her a few candies or a small toy.

Shengshi had not been nearly as large back then, nor was it as extravagant as it was now.

But every corner of it had carried her grandfather’s warmth.

Yet after all these years, Shengshi had changed.

The old building had been replaced by a magnificent skyscraper.

The group had continued expanding, its assets growing larger year after year.

Everything had become bigger, more modern, more luxurious.

Only the warmth was gone.

Today, Su Jin Yue had not come here as a daughter visiting her father.

She had come here to demand an explanation.

Her gaze swept over the words SHENGSHI engraved prominently on the wall behind the reception desk.

This was the company her grandfather had spent his entire life building.

Yet it had become the very tool her father used to control her life.

Su Jin Yue slowly curled her fingers into a fist.

Then she stepped inside.

Her beautiful face was cold as ice, her phoenix-like eyes filled with anger that had yet to fully erupt.

Her long hair swayed lightly with every step, while her simple yet elegant outfit only accentuated her natural poise.

Each step was firm and decisive.

The sheer force of her presence made the employees passing through the lobby instinctively move aside.

A few recognized her and immediately lowered their voices.

“Miss Su.” “Hello, Miss.” Su Jin Yue did not respond.

It was not because she was arrogant.

Right now, she simply had no patience to concern herself with anyone else.

The anger she had been suppressing all the way from the library was already close to its breaking point.

She strode toward the private elevator reserved for the executives.

The receptionist watched her retreating figure and nervously swallowed.

For some reason, there was something terrifying about Miss Su today.

Behind her, Assistant Feng followed silently, watching her back with a quiet sigh.

He had known this day would come sooner or later.

Su Zheng Ting had deliberately put pressure on the library.

He had already expected that Su Jin Yue would not simply sit back and accept it.

He just had not expected her to react so quickly.

The elevator arrived.

Su Jin Yue stepped inside first.

Assistant Feng was about to follow when she spoke coldly.

“You don’t need to come with me.” “Miss…” “I’ll handle this myself.” With that, she pressed the button for the thirty-second floor.

The elevator doors slowly closed.

Before they shut completely, Assistant Feng could still see the cold, determined expression on her face.

He could not help but sigh.

It seemed that today the chairman’s office was going to be anything but peaceful.

Thirty-second floor.

Ding!

The elevator doors opened.

Su Jin Yue immediately stepped out.

The quiet corridor on the top floor was completely different from the bustling lobby below.

Transparent glass walls lined both sides, sunlight spilling across the polished marble floor.

The surroundings were luxurious yet strangely cold, making anyone who walked through instinctively lower their voice.

At the end of the corridor stood the chairman’s office.

Su Jin Yue stared at the familiar door.

A cold glint flashed through her eyes.

She did not slow down.

If anything, her footsteps grew faster.

The sharp click of her heels echoed down the corridor.

Click.

Click.

Click.

Each sound seemed to strike directly against the tension hanging in the air.

Su Zheng Ting’s personal secretary was sitting outside the office.

The moment he heard the approaching footsteps and looked up, his expression changed.

He hurriedly stood.

“Miss…” But Su Jin Yue had already reached the door.

The secretary quickly stepped forward and blocked her path.

“Miss, the chairman has a guest.

You can’t go in right now.” Su Jin Yue stopped.

She slowly raised her eyes.

The coldness in her gaze made the secretary’s back instinctively stiffen.

“Move.” Just two words.

Yet the sheer authority behind them made him unconsciously hold his breath.

“Miss, the chairman specifically instructed—” “Move!” Su Jin Yue’s voice suddenly rose.

She had no desire to hear another word.

She reached out and shoved the secretary firmly aside.

“Today, I am seeing my father no matter what.” The office door was pushed violently open.

The atmosphere inside instantly fell silent.

Su Jin Yue stood in the doorway.

Her eyes swept across the spacious office before finally landing on the chair behind the desk.

Su Zheng Ting was sitting there.

A young woman dressed provocatively was perched on his lap.

The woman had her arms wrapped around his neck, her exquisitely made-up face carrying a coy smile.

Su Jin Yue stared at the scene before her.

She was not surprised.

Nor did she look hurt.

There was only undisguised disgust in her eyes.

She had witnessed scenes like this far too many times.

She had long since become numb to them.
