In Su Jin Yue’s eyes, her father was the kind of man who could replace a mistress faster than he changed his tie.

If it wasn’t this woman today, then it would be another one tomorrow.

Su Jin Yue strode straight into the office.Full novel: Turns out, he always loved me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The secretary hurried after her in a panic, but the moment he saw the look on Su Zheng Ting’s face, he immediately stopped in his tracks and lowered his head.

“Chairman…” Su Zheng Ting didn’t answer.

His gaze remained fixed on his daughter.

The young woman sitting on Su Zheng Ting’s lap looked Su Jin Yue up and down.

She seemed completely unashamed.

She even twirled a strand of hair around her finger, her voice sweet and coquettish, yet laced with mockery.

“I thought I was already the youngest woman on your list of mistresses.” She let out a soft laugh.

“I didn’t expect there’d be someone even younger.” Su Zheng Ting frowned slightly.

“Enough.

She’s my daughter.” The woman froze for a moment.

She looked at Su Jin Yue again.

Only then did she realize that the woman standing before her was the only heiress of the Shengshi Group.

Her expression changed instantly.

But Su Jin Yue couldn’t care less.

She stared directly at her.

“Are you going to leave on your own, or should I call security?” The smile on the woman’s face immediately stiffened.

She looked at Su Zheng Ting as though seeking help.

But he said nothing.

In the end, she could only bite her lip and reluctantly get up from his lap.

Grabbing her handbag, she hurried toward the door.

As she passed Su Jin Yue, she even lowered her head, not daring to meet her eyes.

The office door closed.

Only father and daughter remained inside.

Su Zheng Ting leaned back in his chair.

He calmly straightened his collar, without the slightest trace of embarrassment on his face.

“You’re becoming more and more disrespectful.” Su Jin Yue looked at the man in front of her, a cold, indescribable feeling rising in her chest.

This was her biological father.

Yet time and time again, he made her feel as though she were nothing more than an outsider.

She looked at him, her voice carrying undisguised accusation.

“Do I really need to show respect to the man who just used money to take my job away from me?” Instead of getting angry, Su Zheng Ting laughed.

Leaning back in his chair, he looked at her with a hint of appreciation, as though he were quite pleased that she had figured out the problem so quickly.

“Just as expected of my daughter.

I knew you’d figure out where the problem was.” After a brief pause, he asked casually, “So, has your husband started complaining yet?” Su Jin Yue stared at him.

“What did you do to Gu Jing Shen?” “Has your husband never told you about the difficulties he’s been facing at work lately?” The seemingly casual question left Su Jin Yue stunned.

At this moment, she could almost be certain that losing her job was only one part of everything her father had secretly arranged.

It wasn’t just Su Jin Yue.

Even Gu Jing Shen had been facing obstacles deliberately created by her own father.

And yet, throughout this entire period, he hadn’t said a single word to her.

Su Jin Yue suddenly remembered the past few days.

Gu Jing Shen had been leaving home early every morning and returning late at night.

There were days when he was so exhausted that the moment he lay down on the bed, he would fall straight into a deep sleep.

Yet whenever she asked, he would simply tell her that work had been a little busy.

Could it be that all those days when Gu Jing Shen had been rushing out early and coming home late.

Had he been silently dealing with all the trouble Su Zheng Ting had caused him?

The thought made Su Jin Yue’s heart clench.

She had never imagined that the man had been carrying everything on his own while continuing to act as though nothing was wrong whenever he was in front of her.

She couldn’t hold herself back any longer.

Su Jin Yue suddenly swept her hand across Su Zheng Ting’s desk.

Crash!

The decorative ornaments, documents, and other items on the desk came tumbling to the floor one after another.

The sharp sound of shattering glass echoed through the otherwise silent office.

Su Jin Yue was breathing heavily, her eyes red with fury.

“If you have the guts, then come after me!” Her voice trembled, but every word was unmistakably clear.

“Don’t drag an innocent person like Gu Jing Shen into the grudge between us.

Leave him alone!” Su Jin Yue had never been afraid of her father.

But she couldn’t accept him using the conflict between father and daughter to hurt an innocent person.

Although Su Jin Yue and Gu Jing Shen weren’t truly husband and wife, he shouldn’t have to suffer because of her.

Su Zheng Ting glanced at the mess scattered across the floor before looking back at his daughter.

He wasn’t angry at all.

Instead, the corner of his lips curled into a mocking smile.

There wasn’t the slightest trace of sympathy in his eyes.

Only contempt.

“He’s only innocent because he isn’t really your husband.” His voice was frighteningly calm.

“If the two of you truly love each other, then even if he had to beg on the streets, he wouldn’t let you go hungry.” Su Zheng Ting leaned back in his chair, as though he had already seen through everything in this world.

“Let’s see how long that so-called noble love you’re both so proud of can last when he doesn’t have a single penny left.” Su Jin Yue could hardly believe what she had just heard.

The anger that had flushed her face gradually drained away, leaving it deathly pale.

Her fingers, which had been clenched tightly at her sides, began to tremble.

Su Zheng Ting’s words were like an invisible blade.

They didn’t merely pierce her heart.

They shattered all the emotions that had been tangled inside her at once.

The way she looked at her father slowly changed.

His face became strangely unfamiliar.

She knew he was deliberately provoking her.

He wanted her to be afraid.

He wanted her to realize that once money and power were gone, there would be nothing left of a person.

But Su Jin Yue didn’t retreat.

She lifted her chin and stared straight at the ruthless man before her.

There was no longer any hesitation in her eyes.

Only a fierce determination to fight back.

“Then just wait and see!” Su Zheng Ting narrowed his eyes slightly.

Su Jin Yue gave him no chance to say another word.

She turned around and strode toward the door.

Her hand had just touched the doorknob when Su Zheng Ting’s voice came from behind her.

“I’ll show you…” Su Jin Yue stopped, but she didn’t turn around.

Su Zheng Ting stared at his daughter’s back, his eyes cold to the extreme.

“Love without material wealth is nothing but trash in this world!” Su Jin Yue’s fingers tightened around the doorknob.

She took a deep breath, forcing herself to suppress the rage boiling inside her.

Then, without hesitation, she opened the door and walked out.

The office door closed behind her.

Separating father and daughter into two completely different worlds.

One believed that money could determine everything.

The other was determined to use her own life to prove that there were some things in this world that no amount of money could ever buy.
