But soon, Mike came to terms with it.
The vampires of this world, or rather, the branch of vampires that is the Cullen family, are different.
They are an alternative type of vampire that doesn’t fear the sun, doesn’t fear God, and can even restrain their own desires.
Soon, the Cullen family also formed a tactical formation, with Carlisle Cullen and Esme Cullen in the front, along with Edward Cullen, Emmett Cullen, Rosalie Hale, and Alice Cullen in the second row, while Mike and Bella Swan stood in the very back row.
Bella’s expression was somewhat panicked.
Mike’s expression, however, revealed a different kind of anticipation.
Finally, after playing it safe for seventeen years, was it finally his turn to step onto the field for the first time?
What should he do when the fight started later?
Should he pull a few Lickers out of the Resident Evil world to help out?
As soon as the thought occurred to Mike, he immediately dismissed it.
For no other reason.
He still wanted to maintain his image as a positive character in the Marvel Universe.
If he released the Lickers and they accidentally spread the T-virus, that would be disastrous.
He feared that by the time that happened, Thanos would likely still be alive, and his own bones would already be cold.
Bella, beside him, looked at the solemn Cullen family and could only turn to Mike for help.
“Mike, what’s going on?”
Mike snapped back to attention and waved his hand at Bella.
“It’s nothing. You know the Cullen family are vegetarians, right?”
Bella nodded.
Mike shrugged.
“There are three non-vegetarians coming this way. That’s all there is to it. It’s fine. We have seven people here. Seven against three, there’s no reason for us to lose.”
Bella opened her mouth wide, was silent for a moment, and then said cautiously, “It should be six, right?”
Mike smiled slightly.
“You miscounted me.”
Bella looked at Mike with a surprised expression.
“You are too?”
Mike shook his head.
Just then, the thick fog in the woods rolled in once again, and along with the fog, three figures appeared, vaguely visible within it.
At the same time, Mike’s nose wrinkled even deeper.
The air quality nearby plummeted sharply, as if he had instantly walked from a green grassland into a place filled with PM2.5.
The three people in the dense fog walked out.
Two men and one woman.
The standard combination of a trio.
They walked like cats, a gait that seemed ready to shift their form and crouch down at any moment, and they were dressed in typical hiker attire.
They were all wearing jeans and heavy, unbuttoned waterproof shirts.
However, their clothes were very tattered, and they were all barefoot.
Both men had buzz cuts, but the woman’s bright orange hair was matted with leaves and broken twigs.
Just one glance, and a strong sense of them being vagrants hit him in the face.
The man standing in front was clearly the most beautiful among them.
Under that typical pale complexion, his skin was olive-toned, and his hair was jet-black and shiny. This chapter was copied from g.com without permission.
He was of medium build, with, of course, well-developed muscles.
He smiled easily, faintly revealing snow-white teeth.
The second man was more slender than the leader.
His light brown hair and flat features were unremarkable.
His gaze was rigid, but somehow his eyes looked the most alert.
As for the woman, she was filled with an aura of savagery—and savagery is different from wildness.
Her posture was like that of a feline, and her messy hair trembled gently in the breeze.
The leader threw the ball in his hand over.
“I think this is yours.”
Carlisle caught it and chuckled.
“Thank you.”
“My name is Laurent.” The olive-skinned man in the lead said this, then proceeded to introduce the man and woman beside him.
“This is Victoria and James.”
“I am Carlisle.”
Carlisle introduced them with an easy expression.
“These are my family.”
Laurent greeted them like a gentleman.
“Hello.”
Victoria and James on either side of him remained impassive.
Carlisle said, “I’m worried that your hunting activities have caused us a bit of trouble.”
Laurent looked apologetic.
“I am very sorry. I didn’t know this land was already occupied.”
“We have permanent residency rights nearby.”
“Really?” Laurent glanced at his two companions, shrugged, and said to Carlisle in front of him, “Fine, we won’t cause any trouble. We were just passing through.”
Victoria, who was filled with an aura of savagery, curled her lips into a mocking smile.
“Humans were tracking us, but we’ve already led them to the east. You should be safe.”
Carlisle said in a sarcastic tone, “That’s great.”
Did they need safety?
When they moved here, they had already signed a friendly agreement with the local werewolf pack.
Laurent lowered his head and pursed his lips.
After a while, Laurent exchanged another glance with his two companions, and the next second, he smiled at Carlisle and the others.
“Alright, then we won’t bother you anymore. Goodbye.”
As he said this, Laurent turned around.
Victoria and James also turned around, preparing to leave.
But just at this moment, a breeze came through the air.
The wind blowing from behind Mike and Bella carried their scent to the noses of the trio.
He turned to look at the Cullen family and began to run rapidly.
“You brought a snack.”
As he said this, James, without asking any questions or caring about the consequences, prepared to lunge directly at them.
Boom!
James only saw a shrill, cold light flash before his eyes.
His pupils constricted violently, and he quickly retreated back to his original spot, looking at the massive trench that had suddenly appeared on the ground not far away.
Laurent, James, and Victoria instantly looked up.
The Cullen family also couldn’t help but turn their heads to look.
Mike, in a black suit that fully demonstrated what it meant to be a “suit thug,” was dragging a five-meter-long blade that seemed to extend directly from his right arm, shimmering with a cold light.
He looked at James, who had just spoken, with a half-smile.
Clang!
Mike slowly raised his hand, and the five-meter-long blade gradually shrank to a suitable length according to his will.
Mike held the blade in his right hand and stared at James.
“Who were you talking about just now? Snack—are you referring to me?”
James bared his fangs.
Laurent’s eyes constricted, and sensing the rich, corrupt, deathly, and cold aura emanating from the blade, he blocked James’s path.
Laurent bared two rows of large teeth and chuckled.
“Since when do mutants hang out with us vampires?”
Mutant?
Mike felt a moment of suspicion, but the next second, he came to terms with it.
Oh, right, his look really did resemble a mutant.
Yes.
There are mutants in this world.
But here, there is no Professor X, no Magneto.
Of course, there are similar mutant organizations, but just like the vampire groups, they all keep to themselves behind closed doors.
As for the reason, who knows?
Perhaps they are in another Marvel Universe.
Mike had confirmed it.
