Xu Yunhan did indeed look very similar to Su Qingyu but the two of them appeared to be entirely different people.

After becoming a ghost, Xu Yunhan wasn’t much better off than he had been when he was on the verge of death. He was still thin and pale, his body carrying the same fragile, gaunt appearance.

Contrary to Su Qingyu’s expectations, however, Xu Yunhan no longer looked as gloomy as he had during his lifetime, despite being in the Underworld, where Yin energy permeated every corner.Full novel: Underworld Scumbag Transformation System — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The work he was doing was exactly what 527 had mentioned earlier: assigning numbers to the ghosts who had just arrived in the Underworld.

Xu Yunhan sat in front of a line of ghosts. Whenever one of them approached, he would raise his head and exchange a few words with them.

With nothing obscuring his eyes, his gaze appeared quiet and attractive. Every now and then, he would even smile.

He really resembled a quiet, delicate flower of the other shore blooming in the Netherworld.

Not long after they arrived, another ghost came to take over Xu Yunhan’s shift.

Xu Yunhan exchanged a few words with the ghost, then finished his workday.

He took two steps forward before noticing Su Qingyu.

He froze in place and stood there in a daze for quite some time.

Then he reached up and scratched the back of his neck.

Su Qingyu knew that this was something Xu Yunhan did whenever he felt embarrassed or awkward.

He had witnessed Xu Yunhan’s entire life and had carefully observed many of his small habits.

“Hello. Are you my host?” Xu Yunhan asked, his eyes occasionally darting toward Su Qingyu while he pretended to remain calm.

Su Qingyu smiled.

“You figured it out?”

“Mm!” Xu Yunhan nodded. “We look very similar but we’re also completely different.”

The clients who issued the commissions couldn’t actually see what their hosts looked like while carrying out missions in their worlds.

They could only see their own appearances and witness the changes taking place in the people connected to their lingering attachments.

Xu Yunhan had been a director, someone skilled at observing people and capturing the smallest details.

He had recognized Su Qingyu after only a few glances because the man was simply too conspicuous.

Xu Yunhan had seen countless ghosts in the Underworld but the person standing in front of him wasn’t a ghost.

He had also seen plenty of ghosts working in the Underworld, as well as hosts carrying out missions. All of them seemed to possess a cautious, restrained tension, as though they were constantly afraid of making a mistake.

This person was different.

Even in a place like the Underworld, he carried an effortless sense of freedom and relaxation. That natural ease made him particularly dazzling.

It was the same feeling Xu Yunhan had experienced when watching him in his own world.

They possessed similar faces yet they were entirely different people.

This person had been able to turn around the closed off world of someone who was slowly approaching death.

Xu Yunhan felt a little admiration for Su Qingyu, along with a genuine fondness for him. There was also a sense of intimacy that he couldn’t share with anyone else, born from the fact that they had experienced an entire world together.

“Thank you.”

Thank you for letting me know that I could live a different kind of life.

Thank you for making my world bright and full of color.

Su Qingyu replied, “There’s no need to thank me. You’re my client. I take payment… merit points, in exchange for my work.”

Xu Yunhan: “…”

“Not only do you not need to thank me but I actually feel like I received a little too much merit. I only had to spend a few relaxed months doing the work, while you have to stay here and work for a very long time.” Su Qingyu spoke honestly.

He felt that being a host was a lot like being an actor during his lifetime. The rewards he received were far greater than the effort he had put in.

Xu Yunhan hurriedly shook his head.

“No, no, that’s not true.”

“Originally, I really would have had to stay here and work for a long time but I received advertising fees, uh, no, not advertising fees.”

Xu Yunhan hesitated, searching for the correct term.

“Placement fees, I think? Anyway, it was quite a lot.”

Su Qingyu: “…”

There could be something like that, too?

Who exactly was the product placement meant for? The ghosts?

And how had he, as an actor, failed to notice any product placement?

Xu Yunhan didn’t elaborate any further on the matter. Instead, he looked at Su Qingyu with a hint of happiness in his eyes.

“In any case, I have enough merit now. Five days from now, after I hand over my work here and receive my reincarnation number, I’ll be able to go and reincarnate.”

From the very beginning, Su Qingyu had wanted to send Xu Yunhan into reincarnation.

He had assumed that it would no longer be possible but unexpectedly, there was still a way.

That was good news.

Su Qingyu said, “If I can, I’ll accompany you when you go.”

Xu Yunhan looked genuinely delighted.

“Thank you. I’ll feel much more at ease if you accompany me when I go to reincarnate. I just have a feeling that I won’t take the wrong path in my next life.”

Su Qingyu discovered that Xu Yunhan was much more cheerful in the Underworld than he had been in the mortal realm.

He had genuinely let go.

In truth, Xu Yunhan had already begun to change while writing his screenplay. The names of the two protagonists, Liu Xun and Yun He, were evidence of that.

At that time, however, his release had been one born of hopelessness.

It had been the kind of farewell expressed through the line, “Breaking a willow branch to bid you farewell.”

But now, after experiencing death himself, he had truly learned to let go.

Su Qingyu was in a rather good mood. He told Xu Yunhan where he was staying and asked him to come and visit whenever he had time.

Unexpectedly, Xu Yunhan looked a little embarrassed as he asked, “Can I come and visit you today?”

Su Qingyu smiled.

He tilted his head slightly toward the direction behind him.

“Let’s go.”

Su Qingyu was a little taller than Xu Yunhan, while Xu Yunhan himself was exceedingly thin. As he walked beside Su Qingyu, he would occasionally glance at him from the corner of his eye.

527 had a distinct feeling that its host had gone out for a while and returned with a little admirer in tow.

Xu Yunhan spoke again.

“I really want to thank you, especially for what you did regarding my father.”

Su Qingyu replied, “You don’t need to explain. I already know.”

There was something incredibly wonderful about this feeling.

Having someone truly understand you, even understanding you better than you understood yourself and being able to notice the things hidden deep within your heart that you hadn’t even recognized on your own.

Xu Yunhan had never experienced anything like this before and the realization made him even happier.

He followed Su Qingyu back to the hotel and the two of them talked about many things, starting with Xu Yunhan’s life and gradually moving on to movies and television dramas.

When Xu Yunhan learned that Su Qingyu had been an actor while he was alive, he couldn’t help sighing with emotion.

“I wish I could have met you in my own world. I really wish we could have worked together.”

“Indeed.” Su Qingyu nodded. “If you had met me, what would there have been left for Ren Heming to do?”

Xu Yunhan lowered his head and laughed.

He genuinely wished that someone like Su Qingyu had existed in his life. He really, really wished it.

Su Qingyu changed the subject.

“I’d also like to meet a director like you.”

Xu Yunhan became even happier.

“Then I’d definitely make a good film for you. You have a great appearance and your acting is excellent, too. The drama would definitely turn out wonderfully.”

As they continued talking, the two of them gradually developed a sense of mutual appreciation, as though they had found someone who truly understood them.

Although the Underworld had no distinction between day and night, many of the ghosts living there had retained the habit of sleeping.

When the Yin energy grew denser, it signaled the arrival of the Underworld’s “night.” That was when it became time to sleep.

They talked until very late into the night.

Eventually, Xu Yunhan needed to leave but he found himself reluctant to go.

He liked Su Qingyu. Moreover, whenever he stayed beside him, he experienced a strange sensation, almost as if he were still in the mortal realm, still alive.

Perhaps that was why, for the first time in his life, he made an impolite request to someone he had only recently met.

“Can I sleep here?”

The hotel, which cost two thousand merit points per night, had another advantage: it contained more than one bedroom.

Su Qingyu let him stay.

“You can stay for as many nights as you want. After all, you’re the one who paid for this place with your merit points.”

Rather than allowing the Underworld to profit from it, he might as well let Xu Yunhan benefit instead.

From 527, Su Qingyu knew that the environment of the Underworld wasn’t only unfriendly to hosts. It was equally uncomfortable for newly formed ghosts like Xu Yunhan, who hadn’t been dead for very long.

Staying in the Host Hotel would make Xu Yunhan feel much more comfortable.

Since that was the case, why wouldn’t Su Qingyu let him stay? If he could take advantage of the Underworld’s system and save Xu Yunhan from wasting his merit, he might as well do so.

Xu Yunhan settled into the other bedroom.

That night, 527 crawled onto Su Qingyu’s bed and asked him in a small voice, “Host, do you actually like Xu Yunhan quite a lot?”

Su Qingyu: “Mm. As long as he doesn’t become a hopeless romantic.”

527 made a few soft, dissatisfied noises. It kept wriggling closer to Su Qingyu, rubbing against him repeatedly.

“What about me?”

Its eyes were filled with expectation as it looked up at him.

“I’ll study hard and become a useful system. Host, do you like me?”

Su Qingyu let out a soft laugh and pinched the back of its neck.

“You’re my system. Do you think I can afford not to like you?”

527’s eyes immediately grew bright and watery.

“Host, I like you too. I really, really like you.”

“Even though you’re a scumbag.”

Su Qingyu: “…”

It still didn’t seem particularly intelligent.

When Su Qingyu woke up, Xu Yunhan had already left.

He had left behind a note explaining that he had gone to work and would return on time that evening.

With 527 leading the way, Su Qingyu spent the day exploring the Underworld.

Fengdu’s Underworld was enormous.

It extended from deep beneath Mount Luofeng in Fengdu all the way to the mountaintop, which was beyond the reach of human sight.

The Fengdu gates directly connected to the Road to the Yellow Springs were located underground. The towering structure that served as the headquarters of the Impermanence Hall stretched from deep beneath the earth all the way to the mountaintop, its upper end disappearing beyond sight.

The Ghost King Prison extended downward into unknown depths.

The Underworld continued endlessly, spanning the boundary between Yin and Yang, vast and immeasurable.

As they traveled to different places, they had to take buses, ride the subway and even use airships, allowing Su Qingyu to take in all kinds of scenery throughout the Underworld.

527 suddenly said, “Host, maybe we’ll run into the clients from our later worlds! The ghosts who look very similar to their hosts and are working in the Underworld probably have the highest chance of being encountered.”

Su Qingyu looked out the vehicle’s window.

Outside, ghosts of all shapes and forms were lining up to compete for incense offerings.

He watched them with curiosity before asking, “Do you think some hosts might have met their clients before entering the mission world? Maybe they could even become friends with them.”

That would make the missions rather interesting.

The host would already know what the client’s lingering attachment was and if they were good friends, perhaps the host would enter the mission world with the intention of helping their friend seek revenge?

527 thought about it for a while.

“I don’t think so. The Underworld is so huge and the clients are assigned to work in different places. It’s very difficult for them to run into each other. Besides, there aren’t many opportunities for them to meet.”

“Other than the rest period after their first world, hosts rarely choose to visit the Underworld. They need to spend merit points to stay in a hotel here and most of them are doing everything they can to earn and save merit points. They don’t want to waste any of it on something like this.”

“There’s also the fact that they feel terrible after leaving the hotel. The Yin Sha energy in Fengdu’s Underworld corrodes their souls.”

At this point, 527 turned to Su Qingyu and asked, “Host, you’ve been outside for quite a long time now. Do you feel uncomfortable?”

Su Qingyu: “Not at the moment.”

527’s eyes sparkled.

“Host, your soul is so powerful!”

It had heard that many hosts felt terribly uncomfortable as soon as they entered the Underworld and had to remain inside the hotel frequently.

But its own host had been outside exploring for almost an entire day and hadn’t experienced even the slightest discomfort.

Su Qingyu, however, had no real frame of reference for this and didn’t pay much attention to it.

When Xu Yunhan returned and heard that Su Qingyu had spent the entire day exploring outside without feeling unwell, he was incredibly envious.

Then, happily, he went out to explore with him again.

“I haven’t really had the chance to explore much of the Underworld,” Xu Yunhan said.

527 asked, “Where would you like to go?”

Xu Yunhan thought about it for a moment.

Su Qingyu’s presence gave him courage and he finally suggested, “How about we go to the Ghost King Prison?”

The moment 527 heard the words “Ghost King Prison,” it immediately leaped into Su Qingyu’s arms.

Among the four major institutions of the Underworld, the Impermanences of the Impermanence Hall were the ones most feared by ghosts, while the prison ghosts of the Ghost King Prison were the ones everyone was most reluctant to approach.

Xu Yunhan was about to reincarnate soon. Since there was a place he wanted to visit, Su Qingyu had no reason to refuse him.

The Ghost King Prison wasn’t nearly as vast in surface area as the Bull Head and Horse Face Office District.

It was only about the size of a village.

Its primary characteristic was that it extended deep underground.

The Ghost King Prison was located entirely beneath the earth, stretching down toward the deepest parts of the Underworld. The farther down one went, the more terrifying the punishments inflicted in the hells became.

The entrance resembled a gloomy, primitive village.

Dark green vines of unknown origin spread wildly around the black stones, winding over them in tangled masses. The Yin energy in the area was so dense that it seemed to have taken on a black hue.

As soon as they entered, Su Qingyu could clearly sense that the ghosts here carried an extremely heavy, hostile aura.

Although he couldn’t actually explain what this hostile aura was supposed to be, he could unmistakably feel its presence.

Most of the ghosts here wore black or gray clothing. They moved back and forth through the thick, heavy Yin energy, while dark purple veins faintly showed beneath their deathly pale faces. Some of them carried weapons such as knives and whips, their surfaces covered in black stains.

Su Qingyu recognized that black substance. It was the same thing he had seen on Bo Yunyi’s body the previous day.

527 spoke to him inside his mind: 【Host, let’s leave. The Yin Sha energy here is too heavy. You won’t be able to withstand it.】

Su Qingyu felt that he was still doing fine but when he looked at Xu Yunhan, he saw that the other man was indeed biting his lip, his complexion even paler than before.

Su Qingyu asked, “Do you want to go back?”

Xu Yunhan replied, “Let’s go and take a look at the entrance to Hell.”

As they made their way there, 527 introduced the Ghost King Prison to him through their mental connection. 【The Ghost King Prison is a place specifically designed to imprison and punish ghosts. There are eighteen levels in total. Each level is governed by one Ghost King, who is responsible for administering a particular form of punishment. The further down you go, the more severe the punishment becomes.】

Su Qingyu nodded. Overall, it was quite similar to the Eighteen Levels of Hell described in the legends of the living world.

Most areas of the Underworld were open to one another but there were certain exceptions. For example, they could not enter the actual Hell within the Ghost King Prison.

The entrance to Hell was located in the center of the village. Xu Yunhan struggled to make his way there and once he reached the entrance, he stood in place for quite some time.

Su Qingyu glanced at him in surprise but he neither said anything nor asked any questions.

Only when Xu Yunhan’s entire body began to tremble and he seemed close to losing his ability to endure it did he weakly say to Su Qingyu, “Let’s go.”

Apart from that one occasion when they had gone to the Ghost King Prison, Xu Yunhan never visited any other places that were hostile toward them. He simply followed Su Qingyu and 527 around the Underworld, admiring the scenery of the realm of the dead, until the fifth day arrived, the day he was supposed to reincarnate.

As promised, Su Qingyu went to see him off.

Reincarnation was also handled by the Bull Head and Horse Face Clan. Therefore, as someone who was considered an unofficial member of their administrative territory, Su Qingyu was able to accompany Xu Yunhan all the way to the Reincarnation Path.

Before entering the Reincarnation Path, one had to drink Meng Po’s Soup.

Above the River of Forgetfulness were countless Reincarnation Paths. Each path had a beautiful woman standing beside it, offering bowls of Meng Po’s Soup. Naturally, it was impossible for all of them to be Meng Po herself.

527 explained, 【Host, they are all Meng Po’s maidens. Most of the maidens are very beautiful. Meng Po’s residence is the most popular place in the entire Fengdu Underworld. Many ghosts try to abandon their original assignments and sneak into Meng Po’s residence.】

Su Qingyu: 【……】

Su Qingyu asked, 【Can they succeed?】

527: 【?】

527 immediately asked, 【Host, what are you planning to do?! All those ghosts are fed Meng Po’s Soup by Meng Po.】

Su Qingyu: 【……I like men.】

527: 【Oh. Then there’s no problem.】

Following his assigned reincarnation number, Xu Yunhan walked toward a Reincarnation Path where no other ghosts were present. A Meng Maiden handed him a cup of Meng Po’s Soup.

Xu Yunhan looked toward Su Qingyu and smiled. “Thank you for coming to see me off as I reincarnate. I have no grudges or regrets left from this lifetime. I’m going to my next life now.”

After thinking for a moment, he held the bowl of Meng Po’s Soup and bowed deeply toward Su Qingyu. “Thank you.”

Su Qingyu nodded at him. “I wish you a smooth and peaceful life in your next incarnation, free of illness, disasters and scumbag men.”

Xu Yunhan replied, “Thank you.”

He lifted the cup. Just as it was about to touch his lips, he suddenly looked past Su Qingyu and glanced at something behind him.

Su Qingyu asked, “Do you have a friend in the Underworld? Is he in the Ghost King Prison?”

“You already guessed it.” Xu Yunhan smiled faintly. “I don’t know if he can really be considered a friend. We only met a few times.”

“That day, when I went to the Ghost King Prison with you, I did have some desire to see him and say goodbye but more importantly, I wanted the two of you to meet.”

Su Qingyu looked at him. “The two of us?”

Xu Yunhan nodded. “I can’t really explain why but I always feel that the two of you are somewhat alike. I think it would be good for you to meet at least once.”

The first time he had met Su Ningyuan, Xu Yunhan had been crying rather miserably.

When Su Ningyuan saw his face and noticed the tears streaming down it, he stopped walking and told him that with a face like his, he shouldn’t be crying like that.

Xu Yunhan had asked Su Ningyuan how he was supposed to cry and he could tell that, at the time, Su Ningyuan seemed to have thought of someone. He had hesitated, as though he wanted to say something but ultimately could not bring himself to do so.

Xu Yunhan had not known what someone with a face so similar to his own was supposed to look like, or how that person was supposed to behave, until he met Su Qingyu.

He had wanted the two of them to meet.

Unfortunately, it seemed that it would no longer be possible.

Su Qingyu said, “Go and reincarnate without any worries. If fate intends for you to meet, you will meet again.”

“That’s true.” After hearing those words, the small trace of regret in Xu Yunhan’s heart disappeared as well.

He held the cup of Meng Po’s Soup and stared at it for several seconds. Having witnessed an entire lifetime, with all its joys and sorrows now scattered into nothingness, he tilted his head back and drank it.

Su Qingyu kept his eyes fixed on him the entire time. The moment Xu Yunhan swallowed the Meng Po’s Soup, his eyelashes began to tremble violently. When he opened his eyes again, there was nothing left in them.

He was like a child who understood nothing, being led toward the great gate of reincarnation by a ghost messenger.

Just before he stepped through the gate, he suddenly turned around and looked back for no apparent reason.

Su Qingyu knew that, by this point, Xu Yunhan had already forgotten who he was. To Xu Yunhan, he was now a complete stranger, perhaps even something entirely unfamiliar to him.

Even so, Su Qingyu still gave him a smile.

He wished that, in his next life, every reunion would be accompanied by smiles; that Xu Yunhan would have a complete and happy family, as well as a warm and loving partner.

That ignorant soul without a name stepped through the great gate of reincarnation and began a brand new life.

527 jumped out and said with some emotion, “Host, Xu Yunhan has gone to reincarnate.”

Su Qingyu replied, “Mm.”

527 asked, “He’ll definitely be reborn into a good family, right? His next life will be a good one, won’t it?”

Su Qingyu answered, “It will. He’s a kind person and he never did anything truly bad in his lifetime.”

At the very end of his previous life, Xu Yunhan could have completely ruined Ren Heming. The portion of his phone containing Ren Heming’s breakup message alone would have been enough.

But he had done nothing.

He had always been like that. Even though he feared that world, he had never harmed it. Instead, he had left all of his warmth behind there.

Although Su Qingyu had never seen Xu Yunhan’s judgment records, he still knew that Xu Yunhan would be given a world filled with love.

527 stared at the gate, its heart inexplicably filled with emotion. It still wanted to say something but when it raised its head, it discovered that Su Qingyu had somehow walked over to the Meng Maiden’s side.

For some unknown reason, the two of them had already begun chatting so happily that several minutes had passed.

527: “……”

527 pulled out a Bull Head mask and put it over its head. Then, in silence, it squatted down in a corner to the side.

After chatting with Meng Nü for a while, Su Qingyu asked her, “I’ve always been curious about something. What does it feel like to drink Meng Po’s Soup?”

Meng Nü smiled. “There are no side effects. However, when you drink it, the new soup will clash with the effects of the Meng Po’s Soup you drank previously, allowing you to see your past life. Once the new soup completely overwhelms the effects of the old one, you’ll forget both your past life and your present life. After that, you’ll feel completely refreshed and free of all burdens as you go on to be reincarnated.”

Su Qingyu fell into thought.

Previously, he had assumed that drinking Meng Po’s Soup simply made one forget everything. He hadn’t known that it was also possible to recall one’s past life.

The beginner’s gift Black Impermanence had given him had been obtained from Meng Po’s residence. After drinking a little of it, the images that had appeared in his mind… Were those memories from his past life?

Su Qingyu took out the beginner’s gift Black Impermanence had given him and handed it to Meng Nü. “A friend gave me this. He said it came from Meng Po’s residence. Big Sister, could you help me take a look and see whether I’ve been tricked?”

Meng Nü looked at the bottle in surprise. The moment she reached out and touched it, her expression became even more astonished.

“This is a good thing that has passed through Granny Meng’s hands. Your friend… must be quite impressive, right?”

Su Qingyu smiled faintly. When he noticed a ghost arriving to be reincarnated, he stepped aside to make room.

“Big Sister, you should get back to work first. We can continue chatting later.”

He stood beside the Wangchuan River, staring at the bottle in his hand. Then, based on what he had learned about the Underworld over the past two days, he began sorting through all the strange and unusual details.

When he had first died, Black and White Impermanence had appeared.

The White Impermanence who had come to collect him was Bo Yuny i. He was the chief of the White Impermanence officers, the nemesis of evil ghosts and someone who was particularly skilled at killing them.

As for Black Impermanence, Su Qingyu still didn’t know who he was. However, judging from the way he interacted with White Impermanence, he was probably no ordinary officer either.

The duty of the Impermanence Hall was to escort newly formed ghosts to Fengdu Underworld and capture the evil ghosts that harmed the human world, binding them and bringing them back to the Underworld to be imprisoned in the Ghost King Prison.

The Ox Head and Horse Face families, on the other hand, were the ones who managed the Fengdu system. They were responsible for sending ghosts to the reincarnation wheel.

Then, when Black Impermanence had heard that he didn’t want to bind himself to the system, why had he tried so hard to persuade him? Why had he even given him a bottle of something so precious that it had astonished Meng Nü herself?

At the time, Black Impermanence had claimed that he was doing it to earn merit.

But that explanation clearly had several holes in it.

The Impermanence Hall wasn’t responsible for the system. If Black Impermanence truly wanted to earn merit, shouldn’t he have brought Su Qingyu back to the Underworld instead?

According to the responsibilities of the Impermanence Hall, bringing back a ghost and helping the Fengdu system gain another host were two entirely different things. Clearly, bringing back a ghost was the act that would earn merit.

Besides, the Impermanence officers were powerful enough to make a host vanish into nothingness with a single strike of their whips. To them, a host might not even be worth mentioning.

So why would an incredibly powerful Black Impermanence go so far as to give away something this precious just to persuade him to become a host?

This bottle of precious liquid seemed much more like something Black Impermanence had deliberately chosen to give him.

He hadn’t given it to Su Qingyu with the intention of harming him.

Su Qingyu stared at the bottle in his hand and smiled.

Things were becoming more and more interesting.

“527.” He called out.

527 lifted its ox head.

Su Qingyu said, “Black Impermanence mentioned that I could go to the Impermanence Hall to play, didn’t he? Let’s go there now.”

527: “……”

Host, how about you stay and chat with your Meng Nü big sister for a little longer?

Su Qingyu brought 527, which had hidden itself inside his body, to the Impermanence Hall.

The Impermanence Hall occupied an area that wasn’t as large as the Ox Head and Horse Face Residence. Like the Ghost King Prison, it was built vertically rather than spread out horizontally. However, unlike the Ghost King Prison, the Impermanence Hall extended upward, stretching all the way from the Underworld into the human world.

The Impermanence Hall did indeed have an ancient and imposing main building. Behind it stood rows of black stone buildings so tall that their tops could not be seen.

Before Su Qingyu entered the main hall, he asked 527, 【The Black Impermanence who came to collect me when I died… Do you know his name?】

527, whose entire body was tense, replied, 【I I know.】 It said, 【His name is Yin Changzai. He’s a smiling tiger. Very, very terrifying!】

As soon as it finished speaking, it buried its entire head in its little sofa, leaving only its short tail sticking out.

Su Qingyu: 【……】

Su Qingyu ignored the cowardly creature and walked into the main hall of the Impermanence Hall.

After looking around for a while, he walked over to one of the pillars, where a female Impermanence officer dressed in black was observing him.

“Hello. May I ask if Yin Changzai is here?”

The female officer wore a sharp, striking black uniform and her smile was bright. Her response was equally straightforward.

“He went to the human world on a mission.”

Su Qingyu thanked her and was about to leave when he turned back and asked, “Is Bo Yunyi here?”

The female officer raised an eyebrow.

“That’s beyond my authority to disclose. However, I don’t think he’s been to the Impermanence Hall for the past two days.”

Su Qingyu left the Impermanence Hall without finding anything useful.

527 let out a long sigh of relief and cautiously poked its little head out.

Su Qingyu asked it, 【Can we end our vacation early and start the next mission?】

【We can, yes.】527 asked, 【Host, you want to leave early?】

Su Qingyu nodded.

He suspected that Black Impermanence had given him the bottle because he wanted Su Qingyu to remember something.

Su Qingyu remembered the events of his current life quite clearly. There were no gaps in his memory.

Therefore, whatever Black Impermanence wanted him to recall had to be related to his past life.

To be honest, he was quite curious.

However, the liquid in this bottle was genuinely precious. It could even suppress the symptoms of late stage cancer for a period of time. Drinking it all at once would be a waste.

It would be better to save it for when he needed it in a mission world. That way, he could make the most of it and achieve two goals with one action.

Since neither Black Impermanence nor Bo Yunyi was there and he had already sent Xu Yunhan off to be reincarnated, he might as well enter the mission world early and complete his next task.

【Okay.】527 said. 【It’s just that… that hotel costs two thousand merit points per night. It’s such a waste to leave early.】

Su Qingyu: “……”

Although it said that, 527 still led Su Qingyu toward the passageway to the next world.

Unlike the first time, traveling from the Underworld to the mission world also required them to follow the numbered order assigned by the Fengdu system. They entered through one of the passages within the reincarnation path.

It was just like reincarnation itself. After walking through the reincarnation path, they arrived in a new world.
