Jiang Wenxi nodded slightly, and Fu Siya smiled gently at Lin Wan: “Hello Lin Wan, I’m Fu Siya.” Her words were immediately interrupted by a sneer from the other side.
Following the sound, a girl in a high-end casual suit and with exquisite makeup sat in a chair at the desk next to the bed by the window, playing with the latest model of her phone. Her eyes swept contemptuously over Jiang Wenxi, Fu Siya, Lin Wan, and the nanny behind her. The girl’s long hair was slightly curled, and her eyes exuded an innate sense of superiority. A mocking smile curved her lips:
“Ha, so the threshold for Magic University is so low now? Not only can any Tom, Dick, or Harry get in, but they even bring servants to the dormitory. Don’t they have hands and can’t tidy up themselves?” Her gaze lingered on the luggage cart pushed by the two nannies, her disdain almost overflowing.
Her gaze lingered on Lin Wan for two seconds, sweeping over Lin Wan’s simple clothes and minimal luggage, before turning to Jiang Wenxi and Fu Siya. After sizing them up, even though she could tell they were well-dressed and had outstanding bearing, she still didn’t lower her tone. Instead, she raised her chin and introduced herself arrogantly: “My name is Bai Ruoqi. Remember this name. In the future, you’d better not mess with me in this dormitory.
Also, the dormitory is a public place, so don’t let the servants get in the way.” As soon as she finished speaking, the nanny behind Jiang Wenxi stepped forward and respectfully asked, “Miss, shall we begin unpacking now?” Clearly, even the nanny didn’t take Bai Ruoqi’s words seriously.
Fu Siya also gestured to her nanny, pointing to another empty bed: “Thank you for your hard work, Zhang Ma.” The two nannies immediately responded, skillfully opening the luggage cart, taking out neatly folded bedding, storage boxes, and other items, and began making the bed and organizing the clothes in an orderly manner. Their movements were professional and efficient, quiet and orderly throughout, without any of the “obstacles” that Bai Ruoqi had described.
Lin Wan’s face paled at Bai Ruoqi’s blunt contempt. Her fingers tightened around her shirt, but she didn’t dare argue, simply lowering her head and silently turning back to continue packing her luggage.
Jiang Wenxi raised an eyebrow, understanding dawning on her. It seemed the other two roommates had vastly different personalities and backgrounds—one a shy, ordinary girl from a humble family, the other an arrogant, haughty heiress.
A barely perceptible smile flickered in her eyes, but she maintained her aloof, wealthy heiress persona, ignoring Bai Ruoqi’s provocation and simply nodding gently to Lin Wan: “Hello Lin Wan, my name is Jiang Wenxi.”
Fu Siya chimed in, “We’ll be roommates from now on, please take care of me.” As for Bai Ruoqi, neither of them gave her a second glance. Seeing that her sarcasm and warnings were completely ignored, and that Jiang Wenxi and Fu Siya not only didn’t make the nanny leave but also ordered them to start tidying up—a professional setup clearly beyond what ordinary wealthy families could achieve—Bai Ruoqi’s arrogance froze for a moment. A hint of surprise and resentment flashed in her eyes, and she gripped her phone tightly, about to say something to regain face, when the dormitory door was pushed open again.
Jiang Wenxi’s two bodyguards, dressed in black suits, stood tall and straight, their faces cold and stern, and walked in with steady steps. They exuded a sharp, well-trained aura, and the air in the dormitory seemed to freeze the moment they entered.
Bai Ruoqi swallowed the words she was about to say, her eyes instinctively darting away. Her previous arrogance was completely suppressed by this powerful aura, and she dared not utter another sound. She could only sit stiffly in her chair, even her hand gripping her phone slightly.
Before long, the nannies had tidied up the bed and luggage, and bowed respectfully to Jiang Wenxi and Fu Siya: “Miss, everything is ready.”
Fu Siya glanced at the designer watch on her wrist, and gave Jiang Wenxi a light smile: “Let’s go, Wenxi, let’s go eat. It’s almost ready here too.”
“Okay, sure.” Jiang Wenxi nodded slightly, then turned her gaze to Lin Wan, who was quietly sitting on the edge of the bed organizing her books, and asked gently, “By the way, Lin Wan, we’re going out to eat. Do you want to come with us?”
Hearing the invitation, Lin Wan paused, and when she looked up, there was a hint of embarrassment in her eyes. She secretly glanced at Jiang Wenxi and Fu Siya’s exquisite outfits, and then thought about the nannies and bodyguards accompanying them, silently guessing: the place they were going to eat must be a very high-class and expensive place, which she probably couldn’t afford at all.
The thought crossed her mind. She clenched the hem of her clothes, hesitated, and looked up at the two of them with a slightly apologetic smile. “Thank you for your kindness, but I won’t go. I’ll just check out the school cafeteria
later.” Jiang Wenxi and Fu Siya exchanged a glance, not surprised by the outcome. Fu Siya smiled gently. “Alright then, it’s okay. We can go together another time.”
Seeing that Jiang Wenxi and Fu Siya hadn’t invited her, she could only grumble inwardly, not daring to say it aloud.
“Okay, sure.” Lin Wan quickly nodded in response.
With that, Jiang Wenxi and Fu Siya turned and walked towards the dormitory exit, with the nanny and two bodyguards following behind them in perfect unison. Just as they reached the entrance of the building, Jiang Wenxi stopped and instructed Uncle Jiang, “Uncle Jiang, you can take the nanny and go back first.”
“Yes, Miss.” Uncle Jiang respectfully replied and turned to leave with the two nannies.
Jiang Wenxi then looked at the bodyguard: “Jiang Nan, you can go back too. Jiang Wen alone is fine.”
Jiang Nan frowned slightly, his tone firm yet respectful: “Miss, I’ll stay with you. I’ll stay a short distance away and won’t disturb you.”
Seeing Jiang Nan’s resolute attitude, Jiang Wenxi didn’t insist further and nodded slightly: “Alright then, you can come with me.”
After giving the instructions, the two quickly walked to the school gate, where Ma Yun and Jiang Xunye, who were already waiting, immediately came to greet them.
Fu Siya spoke first, asking: “Which restaurant should we go to?” As she spoke, her eyes lit up, and she suggested: “How about Yan Chunxiao? I ate there once before and I especially liked their dishes; the taste and presentation were amazing.”
Hearing the name “Yan Chunxiao,” Jiang Wenxi couldn’t help but be slightly taken aback, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes—wasn’t this the property that the system had just rewarded her with? She hadn’t expected it to be such a coincidence that Fu Siya had chosen this place. Suppressing her surprise, she replied naturally, “Okay, let’s go to that one. But have you made an appointment?”
“Don’t worry, I’ve got it covered!” Fu Siya patted her chest, took out her phone, and said with a smile, “I’ll call and make an appointment now, it’ll be fine.”
“Okay,” Jiang Wenxi replied, and the two didn’t say anything more.
