Fu Siya quickly finished the reservation call, hung up, and nodded to everyone, “All done! Let’s go.” Then she looked at Jiang Wenxi and said, “Wenxi and I will share one car, and you two can share the other.”
Everyone agreed, and soon they split into two cars, slowly driving out of the school gate. The cars drove smoothly for about half an hour before arriving at the entrance of Yan Chunxiao Restaurant, a reward given to Jiang Wenxi by the system.
As soon as they got out of the car, everyone was awestruck by the grandeur of Yan Chunxiao. The restaurant was designed in a Chinese garden style, with vermilion gates adorned with exquisite carvings, pairs of stone lions standing on either side of the entrance, and the greeters at the entrance dressed in elegant cheongsams with standard smiles, exuding an extraordinary air at first glance.
Fu Siya stepped forward first, giving a slight nod to the greeter: “Hello, my surname is Fu, I have a reservation.”
The greeter immediately recognized Fu Siya, and the smile on her face became even more respectful: “Hello, Ms. Fu. We have prepared a private room for you, please come this way.” Saying this, she made a “please” gesture and turned to lead the way.
Jiang Wenxi, Fu Siya, and the others followed behind the greeter, walking along the path paved with bluestone slabs. The path was lined with various green plants, and the sound of flowing water added to the ambiance. Along the way, they happened to see Yan Chunxiao’s manager, Manager Liu, hurrying past, seemingly going to deal with some urgent matter.
Manager Liu was walking briskly, but the moment he caught sight of Jiang Wenxi out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly stopped, his whole body momentarily stunned. He carefully examined it for a few seconds, and after confirming it was correct, he quickly stepped forward and stood respectfully in front of Jiang Wenxi, bowing slightly: “Boss, you’ve arrived? Why didn’t you tell me beforehand? I could have made preparations in advance.”
“Boss?” As soon as Manager Liu spoke, Ma Yun and Jiang Xunye were both stunned, and Fu Siya’s eyes widened in surprise. She turned to look at Jiang Wenxi beside her, her tone full of disbelief: “Wenxi, this is actually your business? You didn’t even tell us!”
Hearing this, a smile flashed in Jiang Wenxi’s eyes, and she explained in a calm tone: “I only took over not long ago, and I haven’t eaten here yet. I was planning to come and check it out sometime, but I didn’t expect to be here today.”
After hearing this, Fu Siya finally gave up and said excitedly: “Since you come here often, you must know what’s good to eat, so please order some.” After saying that, she turned to look at Manager Liu beside her.
Jiang Wenxi turned her gaze to Manager Liu and calmly instructed, “Manager Liu, I have no changes to the current operations of the business. Just focus on your work. I’ll let you know if there are any further issues.”
“Yes, boss, I understand!” Manager Liu replied respectfully, then asked, “Would you like me to arrange your private suite?”
“Sure, lead the way.” Jiang Wenxi nodded slightly.
Manager Liu then replaced the previous greeter and personally led the group to a more luxurious private room. The entrance door to the room was made of imported Southeast Asian rosewood, hard and heavy. Above the door hung a polished sandalwood plaque with the three large characters “Yunxuan Pavilion” written by a renowned calligrapher, outlined with 24K gold powder, gleaming warmly in the light, the strokes vigorous and unrestrained, exuding elegance.
Pushing open the door, a rich, mellow fragrance of sandalwood wafted out, mingled with a faint floral scent, instantly dispelling the heat and noise of the outside world. The private room was spacious, over thirty square meters, with dark brown African teak flooring, finely polished to a smooth, delicate touch, making no sound underfoot and exuding a tranquil atmosphere.
The walls were made of light beige diatomaceous earth, with a warm texture. Hanging in the center was a three-meter-long hand-painted scroll by a renowned artist, “Spring Scenery of Jiangnan.” The scroll, dominated by ink wash painting and adorned with pale pink and tender green, vividly depicted the misty rain, flowing streams, and white-walled, black-tiled houses of Jiangnan, as if one could hear the murmuring of the stream in the painting. On the two walls on either side hung four symmetrical calligraphy works in running script, all containing classical poems, the characters flowing and graceful, complementing the landscape painting perfectly.
A rectangular mahogany dining table sits in the center of the private room. Its tabletop, polished through multiple processes, is as smooth as a mirror, clearly reflecting the ceiling lights and surrounding furnishings. The edges of the table are carved with a lotus scroll pattern, the lines flowing and graceful. The legs feature an antique-style animal head with ring handles, showcasing meticulous craftsmanship in every detail. Around the table are eight carved mahogany chairs, their backs adorned with blooming peonies, symbolizing wealth and good fortune. The armrests and seats are upholstered in soft, off-white genuine leather, offering a delicate touch and comfortable seating.
At the very center of the table sits a celadon long-necked porcelain vase, its body embellished with delicate scrolling patterns. Several fresh lilies, their petals still glistening with dew, emit a delicate fragrance, adding a touch of life to the room. A
separate rest area is set up on the inner side of the room, separated from the dining area by a hollowed-out mahogany screen, defining the space without creating a sense of confinement. The lounge area features two single mahogany sofas and a round coffee table. The sofas are draped with elegant light gray silk cushions, while the coffee table displays a complete set of Yixing clay teaware. A small incense burner sits nearby, its smoke rising gently.
A large crystal chandelier hangs from the ceiling, composed of hundreds of finely cut crystals, shaped like a blooming lotus. When the light is on, the crystals refract a soft, dazzling light, casting shadows on the floor and furniture, creating a rich and atmospheric ambiance.
Four copper wall lamps with frosted glass shades illuminate the walls, emitting a warm, yellow glow that complements the crystal chandelier, making the room bright yet cozy, without any harshness.
In addition, the room includes a separate tea room and restroom. The tea room was neatly arranged with various famous teas and exquisite tea sets, along with a small constant-temperature water dispenser for convenient tea brewing at any time. The restroom was decorated with off-white marble, the marble patterns on the walls and floors flowing naturally. It was equipped with a smart toilet and a separate shower, and the vanity was furnished with custom-made aromatherapy, disposable toiletries, and high-end skincare products, exuding ultimate thoughtfulness and luxury.
After entering the private room, Fu Siya couldn’t help but look around and said with a smile, “I’ve been to Yan Chunxiao for so long, and I’ve never been to such a nice private room before.”
Hearing this, Manager Liu turned to Fu Siya and smiled politely, explaining, “Miss Fu
is too kind. This is a private room we’ve reserved specifically for our boss. It’s not usually open to the public unless the boss brings his friends.” Upon hearing this, Fu Siya immediately understood and waved her hand with a smile, “I see. I was just saying.”
