Most people were already home with their families.

Some were having dinner.

Some were laughing.

Some were spending time with the people they loved.

Jay Jay smiled as she watched them.

Then continued walking.

After some time, she reached her house

Not a big luxury home , just a normal home .

The smile disappears from her face as she gets the word home in her mind , because it never felt like home.

Taking a deep breath

She smiled a little bit and entered inside.

As she entered she saw

Jeana her mom sitting on the couch watching her phone and adrain her stepfather talking to someone on a call.

She decided not to talk and go upstairs in her room

As she went to take first step

A voice stopped her.

Jay Jay’s pov –

The day was busy.

As I finally reached home

I wanted to disappear like i never existed

When I was about the take the step

A voice came

” Did you received your salary?

”

Today the day 2nd Monday of the month i usually get my salary.

I turned back to see them

They always use to take my salary for their reputation

They have money with them but still they want from me as they don’t want me to grow

Or live my life by my own

They always want to keep me in a cage

The life only they can rule

I know doing any argument too won’t fix it

So i just simply nodded

Opened my purse and handed the envelope to them .

Nobody was happy to see me that i came back or ask me how was my day

I just ignored the thoughts and went to my room

I kept my purse aside , changed my clothes into night suit

And then Opened my purse to call Aries .

As I took my phone.

I saw the silver pen in it .

I took it out in my hand and my thoughts diverted to the boy who came to buy cookies for his mom

How lucky his family would be…

I shook my head kept it again in my purse and called Aries.

He picked up the call in a min

The only person who understands me , who knows everything.

“Hello , you came home ?” he said

” Yes , just now ” i replied

” Did you are food ?” He asked

“No, i am not hungry” i replied

“Why??

After working for a long day you are saying you are not hungry??

”

“Just go down and eat something”

“But-” i was about to say

“No buts, eat or don’t talk to me ” he said in a angry tone

I sighed

“Fine i am going” i said

“Vedio call n show me”

“Fine ”

I ended the call

I opened my door slowly not to wake others and quietly went into the kitchen

Stared finding something

After some time i found a chips packet

I took it and went upstairs in the room

I sat in my bed opened the packet

And Vedio called Aries

“See , i am eating ” i said

“That’s like a good girl ” he replied

I smiled

And then he continued ” Okay , Eat it properly and sleep.

Will Talk to you tomorrow”

“Bye , Good Night” i said

“Good night” he replied

Call ended

After eating

My gaze shifted to the frame in my room

My Dad

(Jashfer Mariano )

The one who loved me so much , died in a car accident.

I went further to the table where the frame was kept

Tear started coming in my eyes

“Dad…”

my voice cracked.

“It’s been years.”

“Why does it still hurt so much?”

i wishpered looking at the frame .

After some time staring at the frame

I turned back n went to bed

Authors Pov –

Jay Jay one last time looked at the frame again

“Good Night, Dad ”

The room went silent

Yet the silver pen still remained in her purse

Waiting to return it’s owner .

The next morning –

The alarm rang at 5:30 a.m.

Jay Jay slowly opened her eyes.

Another day.

Another shift at the bakery.

Another day pretending everything was okay.

She got ready quietly

And when she went to pick up her purse she found the pen kept on the desk

The silver pen She picked it up.

Maybe the owner would come back for it.

Maybe not.

She decided to bring it to the bakery.

She headed downstairs

The house was silent.

Nobody asked if she slept or she ate the food last night.

As she was going to the door

A voice came from behind

“Reach home early today , there is something we need to talk on ” jeane said

Jay Jay turned back nodded n left for the bakery.

Meanwhile on the other side –

At the Watson residence, the morning was completely different.

“Keifer!

Wake up!”

Serina entered his room carrying a cup of coffee.

“Five more minutes.”

“You said that ten minutes ago.”

After more some time keifer finally got up and started to get ready.

He went downstairs to eat the breakfast

As he sat down

“Kuya, you are looking handsome today ”

Keifer stared at him

“Did you find someone?” Keigan asked

“Shut up ” keifer said in a angry tone

“Mom kuya finally found someone ” keigan said and starting laughing looking at keifer’s angry face .

After the breakfast

He bid bye to her mom and left for his work .

As both of them went outside for their work .

The city was already busy.

People hurried toward their workplaces while vehicles filled the roads.

Jay Jay walked toward Moonveil Bakery as usual.

Just another ordinary day.

As she reached a busy crossing, she noticed an elderly woman struggling to cross the road.

Without hesitation, Jay Jay walked toward her.

“Let me help you.”

The elderly woman smiled gratefully.

Jay Jay carefully held her arm and guided her across the street.

” God Bless You” the elderly woman said.

The woman also thanked her several times before continuing on her way.

Jay Jay simply smiled and continued walking.

Completely unaware that someone had witnessed everything.

A few meters away, a black car waited at a traffic signal.

Inside sat Mark Keifer Watson.

On his way to another meeting.

His gaze had unintentionally landed on the familiar girl from Moonveil Bakery.

He watched as she helped the elderly woman.

No hesitation.

No expectation of a reward.

Just kindness.

The traffic light turned green.

Cars began moving again.

Yet for some reason…

Keifer found himself looking at her until she disappeared into the crowd.

Then he drove away.

But the image stayed in his mind far longer than it should have.
