However, one could wonder how Odette got exempted from all this, and why Rowena even trusted her more than the rest.
This was because Odette had been found in a struggling part of Alabama City, where she'd been hustling and working herself to the bone to treat her parents' illnesses.
Of course, these were illnesses that had come with astronomical bills.
But Rowena had taken her in before paying off her parents' bills, and she completely turned around the lives of the half-elf and her family.
In a nutshell, Odette owed Rowena her life, and she would do anything for her boss, because without her, Odette doubted she would even be alive right now.
Pushing this thought aside for now, Logan finally realized his mother was caught in a really tight dilemma.
With his stepsister set to become the new CEO, his mother was on the brink of losing her job, and he doubted her nightclub would stay untouched once the world learned she was no longer associated with the richest household and company in the city.
It was simply human nature because many would start distancing themselves from her, and that meant there was a high likelihood the nightclub would suffer for it too.
"That's it. I know what to do." Logan suddenly sat up straight, and this caught Odette by surprise.
"What do you mean, young master?"
"If my mom is going to lose her job in the next couple of weeks, then I'll need to help her create a company capable of generating enough wealth to make her the richest woman, not only in Starlight City, but possibly in the world as well."
Odette was left speechless by his declaration, wondering what could possibly have put such bold words into her young master's mouth.
Meanwhile, standing on the other side of the room where Odette and Logan currently sat, a dark silhouette could be seen with her arms crossed underneath her marvelous breasts.
Rowena was resting her back against the wall as she quietly eavesdropped on every word of the conversation concerning her, then a smile graced her lips the moment she heard what Logan had just said.
And so, without a sound, Rowena turned around and made her way back to her bedroom.
The next morning, Rowena moaned softly as she slowly stirred awake, only to notice she was alone on the bed.
Then she glanced around and noticed she was alone in the room too.
This meant that Logan must have gotten out of bed early because she clearly remembered him crawling back in bed beside her last night.
And speaking of which, Rowena couldn't help but smile as she recalled the silly, ridiculous words he'd said last night.
'Silly boy. Does he think starting and building a company is as easy as buying cake and ice cream?'
Rowena smiled even more as she found it heartwarming that her son cared about her enough to even think about starting a company for her sake.
Of course, she knew exactly how difficult building something like that actually was because even her own nightclub hadn't been easy to build all those years ago.
But she truly appreciated the thought her son had for her.
'Alright. I've got a big day ahead of me.'
'Time to clean up and get ready for the day.'
Rowena got up and made her way to the bathroom before taking her time washing up.
Half an hour later, Rowena stepped out of her room wearing something nice and comfy.
Then she made her way toward the living room in search of her son.
But to her surprise, he wasn't there.
So she checked the kitchen and the dining room.
But still, he wasn't there.
'Hm. Where could he be?'
'I can't find Odette either.'
'I wonder if those two are...'
'No, I doubt it.' A naughty thought crept in, but she immediately waved it away before it could fully form.
'Alright, let's try the library.'
And so, she made her way to the library.
But when she reached it, she found Odette standing just outside the door.
The beautiful half-elf seemed to be peeking through a slight gap of the library door where it hadn't been fully closed, and Rowena wondered why she was doing that.
So, she called out to her.
"Odette? What's wrong?"
However, this caused Odette to flinch, but she quickly recovered herself before turning around to face her boss.
"G-good morning, Boss. It's nothing serious, ma'am. I was just wondering what could be keeping the young master so busy this early in the morning."
"What do you mean?" Rowena asked as she leaned in to peek through the gap herself, whilst also trying to be careful not to disturb whatever Logan was doing inside.
And then she noticed him sitting and focused on the things he was writing in a notebook.
"He's been in there since I woke up and I wasn't sure if I should tell him breakfast was ready because I've never seen him this focused on anything before." Odette explained, and Rowena nodded in understanding.
"It's alright, Odette. I'll handle it from here." Rowena assured her as she knocked softly before letting herself in.
"Good morning, handsome. Breakfast is ready."
"Good morning, Mom. Thanks, I'll be down in a minute." Logan scribbled down the last of whatever he'd been writing, but Rowena walked closer before hugging him from behind and resting her chin against his shoulder.
"Hmm. What are you working on?"
"Just something. That's all." Logan quickly covered the notes before she could get a proper look at them.
"You're working on something, huh. And you don't want Mommy to see it."
"I'm still working on it. Once it's done, I promise I'll show you."
Hearing his words, Rowena couldn't help but wonder if this had anything to do with what he'd said the night before, about helping her start a company.
'Wow. So my baby was actually serious.' She uttered inwardly, and Rowena really wanted to shower his cheek in kisses right then and there.
But she had to keep pretending she hadn't overheard anything the night before.
So she kept pretending, even as the smile on her face refused to fade from her lips.
However, seeing how badly he wanted some privacy, Rowena decided this wasn't the moment to linger.
"Alright, dear. I just wanted you to know breakfast is ready. I'll leave you to it."
