Seeing this, Logan sat up straighter as the notification unfolded fully in front of him.
[QUEST COMPLETE: Get to know Odette better as a person.]
[REWARD: 10 Attribute Points and 2,000 System Points.]
[QUEST COMPLETE: Convince Odette to become your sparring trainer.]
[REWARD: First Talent: Expert-Level Marksmanship.]
[QUEST COMPLETE: Find out the reason behind why your mother is so strong.]
[REWARD: Twin Golden Desert Eagles and a new system feature.]
Staring at the list of rewards displayed in front of him, Logan couldn't help but blink at the last one.
'Guns. The system just handed me guns?'
Of course, just like the previous host, Logan was deeply interested in one day discovering the mana awakening fruit.
But since this was still a pipe dream for now, he knew he had to develop his strength somehow.
Hence why he had wanted to learn how to fight from his mother.
But since his system had provided him with a pair of guns and marksmanship talent, Logan saw no problem in adding this to his arsenal for now.
At least, until he achieves his goal of finding that fruit.
But for now, he had other important matters to attend to.
And so, Logan lowered his gaze down to the newest feature his system had received.
'A new system feature, huh.'
'I wonder what it is about.'
Logan pondered and immediately focused his mind on the new feature section.
[Congratulations to the host.]
[You've unlocked the new bond meter feature.]
[With this feature, the host may now view the Affection, Trust, and Loyalty of those you care about.]
'Oh, wow. That sounds interesting.'
[Would you like to take a look at your mother and bodyguard's profile?]
'Yes.'
[Response acknowledged.]
[Rowena Blackwell: Mother]
[Affection: Unmeasurable] [Trust: 101%]
'Woah.'
Staring at the screen hovering in front of him, Logan was genuinely short on words to say right now.
Of course, he knew his mother loved him a lot and she trusted him just as much, but to finally see how even her love for him couldn't be measured by the system itself, made him feel extremely special, the likes of which he had never felt before.
This was truly a touching moment for a guy who had grown up being an orphan and had also spent a good amount of years on hospital beds trying to fight his rare illness.
But now that his previous life was way behind him, Logan was prepared to do anything for his mother because he knew very well that she would do the same for him.
After all, this was the same woman who had wept over his hospital bed and had casually beheaded several men for his sake just to make sure she could get to hold and cuddle her son every morning from now on.
So if his mother was prepared to shower him with love and adoration, who else but him was deserving of reciprocating that feeling back to her?
"Alright, my body is all hyped up right now."
And so, with his mind made up, Logan drifted his focus back to the screen demanding if he would like to view Odette's profile as well.
"Yes."
Logan replied, and his system acknowledged his response.
[Odette Dupont: Bodyguard]
[Affection: 70%] [Trust: 70%] [Loyalty: 80%]
'Wow, not bad.'
For a guy who had recently arrived just two days ago, Logan was genuinely impressed with how he had improved his bond with Odette.
Yes, it might not be perfect, but it was still a lot better than he had expected it to be.
Anyways, with that out of the way, Logan relaxed even more as he stared at the ceiling.
Then he summoned his system screen and reallocated his newly acquired attribute points.
[HOST: Logan Blackwell]
[RACE: Elf]
[SYSTEM POINTS: 3000]
[ATTRIBUTES: Strength 12 · Agility 12 · Stamina 12 · Constitution 10 · Charm 12 · Intelligence 11]
[Talent: Expert-Level Marksmanship.]
[Items: Twin Golden Desert Eagles.]
[Bond Meter: Rowena Blackwell: Mother {Affection: Unmeasurable; Trust: 101%}]
[Odette Dupont: Bodyguard {Affection: 70%, Trust: 70%, Loyalty: 80%}]
[Summons: None.]
{The host can now draw a summoning card worth 2000 system points for dangerous loyal magical beasts and at least 5000 system points for a loyal specialist.}]
'Hmm.'
'Loyal beasts sound cool, but do I really need it right now?'
Logan pondered inwardly.
Of course, the magical part of the beast was of interest to him because he wondered what type of magic his beast would possess.
But if he were to truly summon the beast, Logan couldn't help but wonder how he was going to explain to his mother how he had come about the beast in the first place.
Besides, as cool as magical beasts sound to have by his side, Logan didn't really need a beast to protect him right now.
He already had Odette for that.
Of course, she wasn't a beast in the literal sense, but she was his personal bodyguard, and a part of him was certain of the talent she had in close combat.
'Anyways, what I really need right now is a specialist.'
'I need someone with the knowledge on how to run a really good company.'
'With their help, I'm sure they'll be able to ensure the cosmetic company doesn't fall to ruin.'
'And this would be a huge help to me in terms of what I have planned for Ignacio.'
'Oh well, since I'm still lacking at least 2000 system points to summon a specialist, then I guess now isn't the time to waste time thinking about things that aren't important now.'
To Logan, what was more important to him right now wasn't the cosmetic company or his thirst for vengeance on the person his mother hated the most.
Instead, it was his meeting with his aunt later today, and he couldn't wait to meet this beautiful friend of his mother.
And so, just like that, time passed by in a flash, and before he knew it, the sky had changed colour to the pale twilight evening of the day.
Luckily for Logan and Odette, both had already arrived at the venue in time and were now seated in the private terminal reserved for Rowena's jet.
They were now waiting for Delphine's plane to touch down, so Logan used this opportunity to glance around, only to find the lounge being nearly empty because aside from the two of them, there was just one more member of the ground crew checking a tablet near the window as he overlooked the tarmac.
But aside from all these, Logan couldn't help but notice something very important resting on Odette's lap.
