When the car arrived at the Kane family’s old villa, Ginny Jarvis was the first to jump out, ready with her dagger to take care of the dozen or so zombies that had been tailing their vehicle since they entered the neighborhood.
With Caleb Grant’s help, the two of them dispatched the horde in less than ten minutes.
Only then did Sean Kane finally step out of the car.
“Caleb, I have to ask you to stand guard outside.
We can handle what’s inside.
Oh, and you know how to harvest Corpse Crystals now—collect as many as you can.
They’ll help with leveling up,” Ginny instructed.
“Alright, stay safe.” After saying that, Caleb crouched down and began digging for the Corpse Crystals.
“Got it.
You stay safe too, and try not to make any noise.
Zombies have highly sensitive hearing and smell.”
“Mhm.”
Ginny then pushed open the main gate to the Kane family’s old villa.
Fortunately, because the holidays had started early, the entire courtyard was deadly quiet.
The two siblings headed toward the villa itself.
Drawing the dagger from her waist, Ginny handed it to Sean.
He took the weapon, gripping it tightly.
He repeated to himself, “Sean, you can’t hold your sister back.
Kill them.
Avenge Mom and Dad.
You have to protect your sister.”
With those thoughts, the expression on Sean’s face grew resolute.
He looked up at the villa before them and exhaled a long, heavy breath.
“I’m ready.”
Ginny immediately opened the front door.
The moment it swung wide, a mutated Wade Kane lunged at the entrance with a guttural snarl.
After kicking Wade down, Ginny saw Vivian Kane—who had likely been bitten by Wade—lunging right behind him.
Ginny didn’t hesitate.
She whipped out her dagger and cleanly sliced off Vivian’s head.
Green blood erupted instantly, splattering across Ginny’s face.
By now, Wade had scrambled back to his feet.
Ginny shot a glance at her brother.
Staring at the zombie, Sean took a deep breath and drove his dagger straight toward Wade’s head while the monster flailed, clawing at him.
However, lacking any real combat experience, Sean only managed to pierce the skull by less than a centimeter.
Ginny quickly yanked him back, stepped forward to kick the zombified Wade to the floor, and finished him off with a single, lethal strike.
She then crouched down and extracted the Corpse Crystals from both bodies.
“Let’s go.
We need to check inside,” she said, pulling the fallen Sean back to his feet.
Together, they ventured deeper into the house.
Since they didn’t know which rooms everyone was staying in, they had no choice but to search room by room.
Upon opening the third door, they spotted Lyra Kane cowering under a vanity desk.
Before Ginny could speak, Caroline Corbin suddenly darted out from behind the door and swung a coat hanger violently at her.
“AHH!
AHHH!
I’ll kill you, you monster!
BOOHOO…
I’ll kill you!
Don’t be afraid, Lyra, Mom is here…”
“It’s me, Aunt Caroline,” Ginny said, ducking to dodge the swinging hanger.
Seeing both siblings standing perfectly fine in front of her, she pulled Ginny into a tight hug.
“There, there, Jarvis.
Don’t be scared.
Aunt Caroline will protect you both.”
“Aunt Caroline, could you let go of me first?
I’m being strangled to death…
COUGH COUGH…”
Caroline finally released her.
She looked at Ginny’s military uniform and the gun in her hand, her eyes brimming with confusion.
“What is all this?”
“This isn’t the place to talk, Aunt Caroline.
You and Lyra wait here for now.
I’ll come back to get you in a bit and explain everything then.
Where are the others?”
“Your Uncle Xander and Uncle Shane should be in the study.
Your Aunt Vivian turned into…

“Alright, you two wait for us downstairs.” Giving Caroline a reassuring look, Ginny closed the door again and headed upstairs.
Once on the second floor, the two siblings made a beeline for the study.
They tried to push the door open but found it completely jammed.
They exchanged a glance, immediately realizing it had been locked from the inside.
It seemed neither of the men had mutated; only Wade had turned and subsequently bitten Vivian.
How incredibly fortunate for her.
“Uncle Xander, it’s me.
It’s safe now, open the door.” After calling out, Ginny cocked her gun and hid it behind her back.
THUD.
The sound of furniture toppling over came from inside.
A moment later, the door creaked open, revealing a tiny crack.
Shane Dawson’s hypocritical face peeked through.
“Jarvis, why are you here?”
Looking at her uncle cowering behind the door, Ginny sneered inwardly.
He was probably terrified that she had been bitten too.
“It’s fine, Uncle Shane.
We already lured our cousin and Aunt Vivian away downstairs.”
Seeing that the two were indeed uninjured, Shane finally opened the door.
Ginny and Sean slipped inside, and Sean immediately locked the door behind them.
“It’s safer this way,” Sean said.
Shane merely nodded in agreement, offering no objections.
A mocking smirk tugged at the corners of Sean’s lips.
“Shannon, your cousin…
your cousin turned into a m-monster…
BOOHOO…”
Xander Kane sat on the floor, clutching his head in agony.
Beside him, Mia Dawson looked utterly disgusted.
If it weren’t for Xander’s son, his own mother wouldn’t have turned into a monster either.
“Is that so?
How lucky!” Ginny remarked.
“AHH!
You…”
BANG!
She fired a shot straight into Shane’s knee, swiftly followed by another bullet into Mia’s knee.
She then aimed at Xander, who was just trying to get up.
BANG!
BANG!
Two more shots rang out, both piercing his knees.
“Ginny Jarvis, are you out of your fucking mind?!
AHH!” Before Mia could finish speaking, Ginny fired yet again, shattering his other knee.
Shane was closest to Ginny.
Seeing her shoot his son’s legs, he lunged forward, intending to tackle her and protect his child.
But before he could even make a move, Sean pressed a dagger firmly against his throat.
“What…
what is the meaning of this?
I’m your uncle!
What are you trying to do?”
“Uncle?
Hah.
When you plotted against our parents, did you ever stop to think they were your own brother and sister-in-law?
Hmm?” Sean glared at them with blatant contempt.
Panic instantly washed over the three faces.
Xander stammered, “Sean, what are you talking about?
Who plotted against your parents?
And Ginny, how dare you hold a gun!
Heh, there are security cameras in this study.
You two are going to rot in prison, haha!”
“Don’t worry, Xander,” Ginny said calmly.
“Even if I kill you, no one is going to do a thing to me.”
She leveled her silenced pistol directly at Xander’s head.
“My dear Uncle Xander, you only get one chance.
Tell me, whose idea was it to tamper with my parents’ plane?”
Xander’s eyes darted frantically toward Shane.
He quickly pleaded, “Jarvis, it wasn’t me!
I swear, it was all Vivian!
Ask them!
It was entirely Vivian’s doing!
We tried to stop her, but she went behind our backs and did it anyway!
Ask them!”
“It’s true!
Believe your cousin, it was really my mom!
If you don’t believe us, you can look into it yourself, I swear!” Mia chimed in desperately.
“Shannon, Jarvis, I’m so sorry!
It’s my fault for failing to talk your aunt out of it,” Shane pleaded.
“If…
if you hate someone, take it out on me!
Don’t hurt your aunt!
Let me atone for her sins.”
Watching the three of them put on such an act, the siblings’ faces were filled with mockery.
“How amusing.
Since you refuse to cherish this opportunity, there’s nothing more to be said,” Ginny remarked.
With that, Ginny pulled the trigger, sending Shane straight to hell with a single shot.
