Roya collapsed onto the bloodstained metal floor, gasping for breath.

At the bottom of his vision were three remaining red hearts and a completely full hunger bar.

Between them floated a bright green number: 4 His experience level.Full novel: WARHAMMER 40K: MINECRAFT SYSTEM — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Despite dying and respawning countless times, his experience hadn’t been reset to zero.

Instead, after killing the Ork Boss, it had risen to Level 4.

“So Keep Inventory is enabled…” Roya stared at the number and quickly reached his conclusion.

Then he looked down at his completely naked body.

Without a word, he walked over to the headless corpse of the Ork Boss.

Tearing several rough strips of leather and cloth from the dead xenos, he hastily wrapped them around his waist and shoulders.

The pungent smell of blood filled his nostrils as he tightened the makeshift clothing expressionlessly.

Just as he turned around, something caught his attention.

Above several dead Ork Boyz floated miniature spinning objects.

The sight was incredibly strange…

Yet unbelievably familiar.

Roya immediately walked over.

Pop.

A crisp sound echoed in his mind.

The floating item instantly disappeared, automatically entering the hidden inventory in the lower-right corner of his vision.

Concentrating, Roya opened his inventory.

Two new items rested quietly inside.

The first slot contained a chunk of green-spotted meat.

[Ork Spore Meat] The second slot contained a bundle of coarse white fibers.

[Ork Fiber] As Roya focused on the items, lines of information automatically appeared before his eyes.

Ork Spore Meat: Can be cooked in a furnace and consumed to restore hunger.

Ork Fiber: Functions identically to String in Minecraft.

It can be used to craft bows, fishing rods, wool, and other related items.

“So even Warhammer’s biology has been converted into Minecraft’s crafting rules…” A faint smile appeared on Roya’s face.

With crafting materials secured, the next priority was obtaining proper tools.

He looked around.

The ruins had once been a massive industrial processing facility.

Thick wooden support beams and broken cargo crates could still be seen supporting sections of the damaged tunnels.

Walking toward one of the wooden pillars, Roya clenched his fist and punched it.

Bang!

A web of black cracks instantly spread across the surface of the log.

He continued punching.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

With the final strike, the entire block shattered.

Pop.

The half-meter wooden block disappeared, leaving behind a floating miniature log.

Roya picked it up, and it entered his inventory.

Where the support beam had once stood remained a perfectly square hole, completely ignoring gravity and every law of structural engineering.

Roya repeated the process.

Soon, more than a dozen logs had been collected.

Opening the crafting interface with a thought, he converted the logs into planks.

Four planks were arranged in a 2×2 crafting grid.

Click.

A Crafting Table appeared in his hands.

Using several pieces of Ork Fiber, he crafted wool, then combined it with wooden planks to create a Bed, which he stored away for later so he could reset his respawn point whenever necessary.

Next, he crafted sticks from wooden planks.

Combining sticks and planks produced a Wooden Pickaxe.

Holding the pickaxe, Roya walked toward a nearby concrete wall reinforced with stone.

The wooden pickaxe struck the wall.

Cracks spread.

The block shattered.

Pop.

A block of Cobblestone dropped onto the ground.

Roya continued mining rapidly.

After gathering enough cobblestone, he returned to the Crafting Table.

The worn wooden pickaxe was replaced by a brand-new Stone Pickaxe.

The improvement in efficiency was immediate.

With the stone pickaxe in hand, Roya turned his attention toward the abandoned industrial pipes running through the center of the ruins.

Although heavily rusted, they were still made of solid iron.

Clang!

The stone pickaxe struck the pipe.

Compared to mining stone, the cracks spread more slowly across the metal surface, but they continued expanding steadily.

After more than ten seconds— Pop.

A perfectly square section of pipe vanished.

A chunk of Raw Iron dropped onto the ground.

Roya immediately collected it.

Returning to the Crafting Table, he crafted a Furnace using cobblestone.

Several wooden planks were placed inside as fuel before the Raw Iron was loaded into the furnace.

Tiny orange flames flickered to life.

A few minutes later, freshly smelted Iron Ingots emerged from the furnace.

Using the ingots, Roya quickly crafted several essential tools.

Iron Pickaxe.

Iron Sword.

And, most importantly— Iron Bucket.

In less than thirty minutes, he had advanced from fighting barehanded to entering Minecraft’s Iron Age.

Carrying the Iron Bucket, Roya walked toward a sewage outlet at the edge of the ruins.

A stream of fluorescent green wastewater flowed sluggishly from the rusted pipe, giving off a nauseating stench.

He dipped the bucket into the foul liquid.

The instant the water was collected, the contents transformed.

Instead of toxic sludge, the bucket now held crystal-clear, pristine water.

“The Minecraft system automatically purified it…” Roya looked at the bucket in surprise.

It seemed that any liquid collected through Minecraft’s mechanics was automatically converted into its purest form, completely stripping away the pollutants unique to the Warhammer universe.

Satisfied, he continued deeper into the ruins.

Eventually, he reached a massive crack in the underhive floor where abandoned molten slag from the old manufactorums still flowed like a blazing river.

He carefully scooped up a bucketful.

The moment the bucket was filled, a block of [Lava] appeared inside his inventory.

Now equipped with weapons, clean water, and lava, Roya finally felt prepared for whatever lay ahead.

Just as he was about to leave, an unfamiliar sound echoed from the darkness.

“Uhhh…” A deep, hoarse groan was accompanied by the dry clattering of bones.

Roya immediately drew his Iron Sword, his eyes narrowing as he stared into the shadows.

Two figures slowly emerged.

His pupils shrank.

Leading the way was a blocky humanoid with sickly green skin, wearing a tattered blue shirt and purple trousers.

Its arms stretched stiffly before it.

Behind it walked a white skeletal figure carrying a bow.

“A Zombie…

and a Skeleton…” They were unmistakably Minecraft mobs.

Before Roya could react further, another figure suddenly darted out from a nearby pile of scrap.

It was a Gretchin—one of the Orks’ diminutive, cowardly, and cunning servants.

The little Grot rummaged through the garbage, completely focused on scavenging for anything valuable.

The Zombie and Skeleton were only a few steps away.

Roya instinctively expected the Zombie to attack.

Instead…

Something impossible happened.

The Gretchin ran straight through the Zombie’s body.

There was no collision.

No attack.

Its body simply phased through the Zombie as though it were passing through a hologram.

The Zombie and Skeleton paid the Gretchin no attention whatsoever.

Instead, both slowly turned their square heads toward Roya.

“They can’t perceive each other…” Roya’s eyes widened with realization.

“The creatures of Minecraft and the creatures of the Warhammer universe exist on completely separate layers.” “Other than me, neither side can see, touch, or interact with the other.” The next moment, the Zombie released a low growl and lumbered toward him.

The Skeleton calmly drew its bow.

At almost the same time, the Gretchin finally noticed Roya.

From the Gretchin’s perspective, Roya was simply standing alone in the middle of an empty corridor.

The little creature’s ugly face twisted into a vicious grin as it drew a rusty file and charged with a shrill scream.

Three enemies.

Two different worlds.

One target.

“Courting death.” Roya moved first.

Twang!

The Skeleton loosed an arrow.

Roya leapt sideways.

The arrow narrowly missed him as his Iron Sword flashed through the air.

Bang!

The Zombie flashed red, staggering backward after taking the hit.

Ignoring it completely, Roya pivoted and drove a powerful kick into the charging Gretchin.

Crack!

Its neck snapped instantly.

The tiny body flew backward like a discarded rag doll before crashing heavily into a steel wall and sliding lifelessly onto the floor.

Having dealt with the threat from the Warhammer side, Roya turned back toward the Minecraft monsters.

His Iron Sword rose and fell three times.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

The Zombie flashed red repeatedly before collapsing backward.

Its body dissolved into white smoke.

A piece of [Rotten Flesh] and several glowing experience orbs dropped onto the ground.

The Skeleton immediately drew another arrow.

Without hesitation, Roya placed several Cobblestone blocks from his inventory.

In two swift motions, a stone wall rose between him and the Skeleton.

Thunk!

Thunk!

The arrows buried themselves harmlessly in the cobblestone.

Circling around the makeshift barrier, Roya rushed forward.

His Iron Sword slashed repeatedly.

The Skeleton shattered into a pile of bones before disappearing into white smoke.

A [Bone] and two [Arrows] dropped onto the ground.

Roya stepped forward, collecting every item and absorbing the floating experience orbs.

A crisp, ethereal chime rang out.

The green number at the bottom of his vision changed.

Level 4 → Level 5 Immediately afterward, an enormous golden notification window appeared before his eyes.

[New System Feature Unlocked: Villager Conversion] [Description] Consume experience levels and specific materials to convert intelligent humanoid lifeforms in the current universe into Minecraft Villagers.

Converted individuals receive a Villager template, an assigned profession, and a corresponding trading interface.

Once converted, they permanently operate according to Minecraft’s system rules, producing goods and conducting trades based on Villager mechanics.

Roya stared at the notification, his heartbeat quickening.

In the grim darkness of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, human lives were among the cheapest resources imaginable.

The underhive alone contained countless scavengers, laborers, refugees, criminals, and Imperial citizens struggling to survive.

And now…

He could transform them into Minecraft Villagers.

Blacksmiths.

Librarians.

Farmers.

Clerics.

Toolsmiths.

Weaponsmiths.

As long as he built enough trading networks, he could obtain enchanted equipment, diamond gear, endless food supplies, rare materials, and perhaps even adapt the Imperium’s technology into Minecraft’s trading system.

The possibilities were limitless.

Roya slowly closed the notification window.

A smile spread across his face.

“The next step…” “I need to find a few survivors and see whether this system really works.”
