On the opposite side of the underhive ruins, the thunder of battle echoed endlessly.

Lasgun fire streaked across the dim tunnels, while piles of Ork corpses littered the battlefield.

Veteran Space Marine Sergeant Kahn swung his roaring chainsword.Full novel: WARHAMMER 40K: MINECRAFT SYSTEM — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Its whirling adamantium teeth tore through an Ork Boy’s chest, spraying dark green blood across his blue power armor.

Kicking the corpse aside, the Ultramarine turned toward the left flank of the defensive line.

There were too many Orks.

Everywhere he looked, green-skinned warriors flooded the tunnels.

Armed with crude shootas and brutal choppas, they surged forward like an endless green tide, hurling themselves at the hastily assembled Imperial defenses.

“Neophyte!

Left flank!” Kahn’s voice boomed across the vox.

A figure immediately burst from behind cover.

It was Titus, a Space Marine Scout who had yet to complete all of the implantation surgeries required to become a full Battle-Brother.

Clutching a combat knife in one hand and a bolt pistol in the other, he charged straight toward three advancing Ork Boyz.

He ducked beneath a descending choppa.

Raising his bolt pistol beneath the first Ork’s jaw, he fired.

Bang!

The bolt round detonated inside the Ork’s skull, blowing its head apart.

Without pausing, Titus slashed his combat knife across the throat of the second Boy.

The third Ork lunged forward.

Instead of retreating, Titus stepped inside the attack, driving his knee into the Ork’s abdomen before thrusting his knife upward through the base of its skull.

Three Orks fell in rapid succession.

The remaining Boyz hesitated before retreating into the darkness.

Silence briefly descended upon the battlefield.

Only the heavy breathing of the Space Marines and the cooling hiss of overheated weapons remained.

Kahn approached Titus, chainsword still idling.

Three deep gashes scarred the veteran’s power armor, exposing damaged ceramite beneath.

“Sergeant.” Titus lowered his head respectfully.

His scout armor was splattered with blood and pieces of Ork flesh.

Kahn simply nodded.

Looking toward the ceiling of the hive, he spoke heavily.

“The distress signal was transmitted three standard hours ago.” “There has been no reply.” Despair silently spread among the surviving Ultramarines.

Without reinforcements…

Surrounded by endless Orks inside the underhive…

Death was only a matter of time.

Titus remained silent.

He calmly replaced the magazine in his bolt pistol.

Barely two hours later…

“WAAAGH!!!” The savage war cry shattered the uneasy silence.

The entire metal deck shook violently.

Titus immediately looked toward the rear of the Ork horde.

A gigantic silhouette slowly emerged.

Nearly three and a half meters tall…

Muscles bulging like steel cables…

Crude armor fashioned from looted Imperial power armor…

Dragging an enormous bloodstained axe behind him.

Every Ork Boy instinctively stepped aside.

Cheers erupted from every direction.

“Sergeant!” Titus tightened his grip on his combat knife.

“An Ork Boss!” Kahn’s expression immediately darkened.

This was no ordinary Ork.

It was a true Boss.

“HOLD THE LINE!” Without hesitation, Kahn shoved Titus aside.

His chainsword roared to life as he charged directly toward the towering monster.

“Humie!” “Die!” The Ork Boss bellowed.

Its massive axe crashed downward.

CLANG!

Metal screamed against metal.

Sparks exploded.

Kahn’s knees bent beneath the tremendous force.

The metal deck beneath his boots groaned.

His power armor’s servos strained to their limit, yet he was still driven back three full steps.

“Sergeant!” Titus tried to reinforce him.

Several massive Ork Boyz immediately blocked his path.

“Get da humie!” “Chop ‘im up!” The Orks surrounded him completely.

Titus found himself locked in brutal close combat.

Meanwhile…

Kahn was steadily forced backward.

The Ork Boss’s axe struck again.

And again.

And again.

Each blow left deeper cracks across the ceramite armor.

Crack!

One devastating swing shattered Kahn’s left shoulder plate.

The axe bit deep into his flesh.

The veteran grunted in pain, collapsing to one knee.

Even his chainsword began sputtering as its motor struggled to keep running.

“Big…” “Humie…” “SMASH!” The Ork Boss raised its enormous axe high overhead.

“No!” Titus roared.

Ignoring the choppa that carved across his back, tearing open his scout armor, he forced his way through the surrounding Boyz.

Blood poured down his back.

He broke free.

Shoving Kahn aside, Titus threw himself directly beneath the descending axe.

Without power armor…

That blow would kill him instantly.

Titus gritted his teeth.

Then— Pop.

Less than one hundredth of a second before the axe landed…

Black cracks suddenly spread across the metal floor beneath Titus’s feet.

The deck instantly shattered into a perfect square.

A dark, cube-shaped hole appeared between Titus and the Ork Boss.

A figure suddenly leapt out from below.

The newcomer wore a bizarre suit of blocky iron armor that gleamed with a silvery metallic sheen.

In his hand was an equally blocky Iron Sword.

Without slowing down…

He jumped directly toward the descending axe.

No fancy techniques.

No elaborate movements.

Just a single slash.

There was no clang of colliding weapons.

The Minecraft system’s absolute damage mechanics completely ignored the physical laws of the Warhammer universe.

The Ork Boss’s enormous head exploded instantly.

Blood.

Bone.

Green flesh.

Everything vanished into a crimson-green mist.

Its colossal body collapsed with a thunderous crash.

Silence fell across the battlefield.

Every Ork froze.

They stared blankly at the headless corpse lying on the ground.

Their mighty Boss…

Had been killed in a single strike by an absurdly crude iron sword.

The local Waaagh!

collapsed instantly.

The frenzy in the Orks’ eyes disappeared.

Only fear remained.

“Da Boss is dead!” “Dat humie’s a monster!” Several Orks screamed before dropping their weapons and fleeing.

Panic spread rapidly.

Within moments, the entire Ork force routed into the depths of the underhive.

The Ultramarines watched in stunned silence.

Even Kahn temporarily forgot the pain in his shoulder.

Pressing one gauntlet against the bleeding wound, he slowly stood.

His helmet lenses remained locked on the mysterious warrior.

Roya casually shook the blood from his Iron Sword before storing it inside his inventory.

Then he turned toward Titus.

Carefully studying the young Space Marine’s face, his eyebrows slowly rose.

“…Titus?” Titus stiffened.

His grip on his combat knife tightened.

“You know me?” “You could say that.” Roya smiled.

“If I hadn’t tunneled through here just now…” “You’d already be dead.” Titus frowned.

His eyes carefully examined Roya’s strange cubic armor and the impossible way his sword had vanished into thin air.

His vigilance only increased.

“Who are you?” Roya ignored the question.

Instead, his attention shifted toward the lower-right corner of his vision.

A golden notification quietly appeared.

Target: Titus Species: Human (Space Marine Scout) Conversion Requirements: Met Cost: 5 Experience Levels Convert target into a Minecraft Villager?

[YES] / [NO] A smile slowly spread across Roya’s face.

Without the slightest hesitation…

He chose YES.

Ding!

A crisp notification echoed through his mind.

His experience level instantly dropped from 5 back to 0.

At the same moment…

A slowly rotating Grass Block appeared above Titus’s head.

[Conversion Successful] New Villager Acquired Name: Titus Profession: Unassigned Titus suddenly felt an invisible force sweep through every inch of his body.

He instinctively looked toward Roya.

The suspicion and hostility in his eyes rapidly faded, replaced by an inexplicable sense of familiarity.

His brows furrowed tightly.

“…What did you do to me?”
