On the other side of the Hephaestus Hive ruins, gunfire roared.

Corpses of the Astra Militarum and Ork Boyz piled up.

Energy beams from laser rifles intertwined in the dim underground space.Full novel: Warhammer 40K: Starting With The Power Of Minecraft — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Carn wielded his Chainsword.

The roaring serrated teeth tore open the chest of an Ork Boyz, and dark green blood splattered onto the blue power armor.

The Ultramarines veteran kicked away the remains and turned to look at the flank of the defense line.

There were too many Ork Boyz.

Wherever the eye could see, there were rampaging Ork Boyz.

Wielding crude firearms and rough choppers, they converged into an unstoppable green tide, frantically assaulting the temporary position formed by broken bunkers.

“New blood!

Left flank!” Carn roared over the radio.

A figure leaped out from behind the bunker.

Titus, the rookie who had not yet completed all organ modification surgeries, tightly gripped his mono-molecular combat knife at this moment and crashed forward to meet three charging Ork Boyz.

He sidestepped to avoid the hacking heavy axe, pressed his bolt pistol against the jaw of the first Ork Boyz with his left hand, and pulled the trigger.

“Bang!” The bolt shell exploded inside the Ork Boyz’s skull.

His right-hand combat knife naturally swept upward, slitting the throat of the second Ork Boyz.

Taking the opportunity, the third Ork Boyz closed its arms.

Instead of retreating, Titus advanced, using his momentum to knee the Ork Boyz heavily in the abdomen, and thrust his backhand blade straight through the back of its head.

This wave of attack was checked.

The last few Ork Boyz dropped their corpses and retreated back into the shadows.

The defense line welcomed a brief dead silence, accompanied only by the heavy gasps of the Astra Militarum soldiers and the hissing of cooling weapons.

Carn carried his Chainsword and walked over to Titus.

There were three deep bone-visible slash marks on the veteran’s chest armor, and the buzzing of the servomotors was harsh.

“Sergeant.” Titus lowered his head in salute, his carapace armor stained with flesh and blood fragments.

Carn nodded, his gaze solemn as he looked up at the dome above: “The distress signal was sent out three standard hours ago.

There is no response.” Despair showed in the eyes of the surrounding Astra Militarum soldiers.

Without fleet support, in this Underhive submerged by Ork Boyz, they were doomed to die in battle.

Titus did not speak, silently replacing the magazine for his bolt pistol.

In less than two hours, howling once again tore through the silence of the ruins.

“Waaagh!!!” The battle cry was extremely violent.

The metal decks of the entire Underhive trembled violently under the sound wave.

Titus stood up, his gaze piercing through the smoke and dust of the ruins, locking onto the rear of the Ork Boyz army as a massive figure approached.

That was a monster close to three and a half meters tall.

Its muscles bulged high, wearing armor cobbled together from fragments of power armor, dragging a huge blood axe upside down in its hand.

The Ork Boyz along the way retreated one after another, emitting fanatical cheers.

“Sergeant!” Titus gripped his combat knife tightly, “An Ork Warboss has appeared.” Carn’s expression sank completely.

The strength of this Ork Warboss was undoubtedly formidable.

“Hold the line!” Carn pushed Titus away, his Chainsword erupted with a wild roar, leaped out of the bunker, and charged straight at the Ork Warboss.

“Humie!

Die!” The Ork Warboss roared, swinging its blood axe, stirring up a bloody wind as it hacked down vertically.

Carn raised his sword to block.

“Clang!” The sound of metal collision exploded.

Amidst flying sparks, Carn’s body sank, the metal mesh floor beneath his feet let out a wail, and his power armor servomotors burst into extreme protest, yet he was still forcibly pushed back three steps by this monstrous strength.

“Sergeant!” Titus wanted to support him, but several burly Ork Boyz had already blocked his path.

“There’s a humie here!

Chop him!” The Ork Boyz waved scrap metal, entangling Titus tightly as he fell into a bitter fight.

The battle situation deteriorated.

Carn retreated step by step under the violent offensive of the Ork Warboss.

The blood axe smashed into the power armor again and again, the shattering sound of the plasteel armor being teeth-grittingly harsh.

“Crack!” The blood axe of the Ork Warboss shattered Carn’s left shoulder guard, embedding itself into his flesh.

Carn let out a muffled grunt, dropping to one knee as the rotation speed of his Chainsword suddenly jammed.

“Big!

Humie!

Smash!” The Ork Warboss split its huge mouth full of tusks and raised the blood axe high.

“No!” Titus roared.

He hard-endured the slash of an Ork Boyz, his back carapace armor tearing open, dripping with fresh blood.

Utilizing the pain, he burst forth with all his strength, breaking through the encirclement and lunging toward Carn’s direction.

He shoved away the half-kneeling Carn and turned to face the whistling huge blood axe coming down.

Without the protection of power armor, this blow was enough to be fatal, but Titus clenched his teeth.

“Pop.” At the zero-point-zero-one second of life and death, on the adamantium armor floor beneath Titus’s feet, a patch of black grid-like cracks miraculously emerged out of thin air, spreading instantly before a half-meter-square, absolutely flat square floor directly vanished.

A pitch-black square-shaped large hole abruptly appeared between Titus and the Ork Warboss.

A figure abruptly leaped out from the square opening.

That was a man wearing an extremely incongruous, square-shaped armor glowing with a silver-white metallic luster.

In his hand, he held a pixel-style iron sword.

The moment he leaped out of the hole, he met the descending blood axe.

He did not dodge, leaping mid-air, and the iron sword slashed down from top to bottom without any fancy tricks.

There was no collision sound of gold and iron.

Under this system’s monstrous strength that completely ignored Warhammer’s physical laws, the Ork Warboss’s hard, huge head instantly burst into a sky-filling red-and-green blood mist under the absolute damage judgment of a critical hit.

The massive body collapsed with a crash, shaking the ground into a tremor.

The battlefield fell into a dead silence.

The Ork Boyz stopped in their tracks, blankly looking at the headless corpse on the ground.

The once haughty Ork Warboss had its head smashed in a single strike by someone using a crude square-shaped iron piece.

The Waaagh Field collapsed instantly.

The fanaticism in the eyes of the Ork Boyz was replaced by instinctive fear.

“The Boss is dead!

The humie is too terrifying!” A few Ork Boyz let out shrieks, dropped their weapons, and turned to flee.

The rout spread rapidly.

In a mere half a minute, the Ork Boyz army fled completely clean.

The Astra Militarum soldiers opened their mouths wide, forgetting to fire their guns.

Pressing his bleeding shoulder, Carn struggled to stand up, his helmet’s ocular lenses staring dead at the mysterious person who suddenly appeared before him.

Roya shook the iron sword and stored it into his inventory.

He turned around and looked at Titus, who was maintaining a defensive posture.

He looked over him, his gaze sweeping across the other’s facial contours.

“Titus?” Roya raised an eyebrow, his tone carrying surprise.

Titus froze, tightening his grip on his combat knife and vigilantly looking at the man wearing strange armor: “You know me?” “Sort of.” Roya patted the dust off his armor with his empty hands and chuckled slightly, “You’re in luck.

If I hadn’t just happened to mine right through here, you’d have met your end here today.” Looking at the blocky armor on Roya’s chest that did not conform to Imperial ergonomics, and his trick of making the iron sword vanish out of thin air, Titus raised his vigilance to the maximum: “Who are you?” Roya did not reply.

His line of sight focused on the system UI in the bottom right corner, where the golden prompt box flickered with a faint light.

[Target: Titus (Humanoid Carbon-based Organism / Space Marine Rookie)] [Conditions for conversion met.

Consume Level 5 experience points to forcibly bind as a “Villager” ?] Roya’s lips curled into a smile.

He issued the command in his mind without hesitation.

“Yes.” “Ding——” A crisp sound effect exploded in his mind, and below his field of vision, the green experience value number “5” was cleared to zero.

Immediately afterward, above Titus’s head, a slowly rotating block-shaped icon floated out of thin air — a grass block.

[Conversion successful.

Target bound.] [Acquired new Villager: Titus.

Profession: None.] Titus felt an irresistible force sweep across his entire body.

Looking at Roya before him, his originally vigilant gaze underwent a subtle change within a few seconds.

“What did you just do to me?” Titus frowned, this feeling making him extremely uneasy.
