When Lynn squeezed out of the cave entrance, he thought he would be greeted by sunlight, a gentle breeze, and a vast new world.

Instead, what he saw was a giant green ass.

It was a green!

Giant!

Warty ass!!!!!!!

Hear me out…

That ass was squatting right next to the cave entrance, merely half a meter away from him.

It was at least a meter wide, draped with a few rags and scraps of metal.

The owner of the ass was squatting on the ground with its back perfectly facing them, seemingly rummaging through something.

There was no need to see the face; just one look at this iconic skin color and build said it all.

Orks.

Lynn froze.

With half his head poking out of the hole, he stared at that massive green back, his mind completely blank.

Cecilia was behind him, her voice pressed extremely low.

“Don’t move.” Lynn didn’t move; he even stopped breathing.

That green ass shifted a bit, moving to the side, and Lynn caught sight of its profile.

It was a massive green body with thick arms, broad shoulders, and a gigantic head topped with two pointy ears and a huge mouth with protruding tusks.

That mouth was chewing on something, making a loud crunching sound.

Lynn vaguely saw that it looked like a human hand.

Greenskins.

Orks.

Lynn instantly felt a chill run down his spine.

That Ork was holding a massive spiked club in its hand.

He was less than a meter away from that club, which could smash him into meat paste in a single strike.

Behind him, Cecilia quietly pulled him back bit by bit.

Lynn hurriedly shrank back into the cave, his heart beating like a drum.

He lowered his voice and spoke quickly to Cecilia and Hammer.

“Greenskins!!!

There are Greenskins outside!!!” Hammer squatted in the back, his gas mask hanging around his neck, his grayish-blue eyes wide open.

“What?!

They weren’t there when I came in?!

How many?” “I saw one, but there should be more!!” Cecilia drew the power sword from her back.

The energy glow on the blade lit up.

She stepped sideways to the cave entrance, revealed half her face, and took a glance outside.

Her eyes were much more useful than Lynn’s; she grasped the enemy situation on the battlefield with a single glance.

“There are five right outside the entrance, and a camp further away.

The few outside the entrance are rummaging through cultist things, probably a scavenging party.” It was a scavenging party.

Beating people to death first and then looting their corpses also counts as scavenging.

Lynn leaned against the stone wall, still recovering from the shock.

Orks are one of the most common xenos in Warhammer 40k.

They grow from the ground just like mushrooms; wherever their spores drift, that’s where the Greenskins grow.

Orks have low intelligence and don’t care about factions; they fight everyone.

They fight the Imperium, they fight Chaos, they fight Aeldari, Tyranids, Necrons, T’au, and they even fight their own kind.

Orks live to fight, they fight for fun, and when they’re done having fun, they fight some more.

But Orks possess the power of the WAAAGH!

and the power of “I fink, derefore it is.” After letting out a loud WAAAGH!, whatever they believe in becomes reality.

So, if they want to get stronger, they get stronger; if they want to build weapons, they can assemble devastatingly powerful vehicles and weapons out of a pile of garbage and scrap metal.

The Imperium of Man and the Orks are mortal enemies, the kind of mortal enemies that start hacking at each other the moment they meet.

Motherf*cker, he had just escaped a cultist nest, and now he was blocked at the cave entrance by Greenskins.

Did this crappy planet have a vendetta against them?

Cecilia took another look outside, looking more carefully this time.

“There are five here at the entrance, the lowest-level Ork Boyz.

There are no Weirdboyz or Nobz, and they are armed with big clubs, choppas, and shootas.

Outside the entrance is an open area with a Greenskin camp.

They’re guarding here probably to intercept cultists, and they ended up intercepting us in the process.” The Greenskins weren’t targeting them specifically; they were targeting anyone coming out of this hole.

The cultists in the cave needed to transport supplies and go in and out.

The Greenskins just waited at the entrance.

When cultists came out of the hole, the Greenskins fought them.

For the Orks, this cave entrance was basically a Warhammer version of camping a spawn point for auto-refreshing enemies.

They didn’t care who they were fighting, as long as there was a fight to be had.

“In the process,” Hammer repeated the phrase, a hint of helplessness in his tone.

It was such bad luck.

Orks are hard to kill, and impossible to wipe out completely.

Once they die, the spores on their bodies spread in massive quantities, and new Orks will grow.

In some respects, Orks are even harder to deal with than Chaos.

Damn it, he really wanted to slaughter all these brainless things.

“Sister, can you handle these Orks?” Lynn turned to Cecilia.

Cecilia said carefully, “The five outside, yes.

But there’s a Greenskin camp further away; if the Greenskins inside all come out, it might be a bit difficult to deal with.” Fortunately, these Orks were just a scavenging party, the lowest-level Ork Boyz, without any high-level Weirdboyz or Nobz.

A Sister of Battle in power armor and armed with weapons could handle them.

If there were any higher-level ones, they might need an Astartes warrior to handle it.

Sigh.

But there were quite a lot of them.

It was still difficult to deal with.

These Orks were blocking the entrance; if they wanted to get out, they absolutely had to deal with them.

Cecilia sheathed her power sword and swapped to her bolter.

“We’ll lure the Greenskins in here.

The entrance is small; they can only come in one at a time.

We hold the choke point and chop down anyone who pokes their head in.” Lynn looked at where they were standing.

The passage exit was very narrow, about a meter wide, likely just enough for one Ork to squeeze through.

Inside, the passage was wider than the entrance, shaped like a pocket with a small opening and a large belly.

As long as they blocked the entrance, those Greenskins wouldn’t be able to get in easily.

If Hammer could lay explosives inside the pocket, lure the Greenskins over, and then open the entrance to let them in, they might just be able to blast them all to death in one go.

Lynn said, “Hammer, do we have enough bombs left?” Hammer nodded.

He pulled his welding torch and several Warp crystal triggers from his belt.

“I dismantled all those cultists’ psychic foci earlier and got a lot of Warp crystals out of them.” Warp crystals could cause small-scale spatial explosions capable of shredding objects.

Connecting the crystals with wires, the sparks of the welding torch flashed a few times in the dark, and an improvised bomb was created.

Ork Boyz didn’t have the thick, tough skin of their Nobz.

By placing this just inside the entrance, waiting for them to charge in, and detonating it, they could blow several of them to death.

If worst came to worst, they’d just lay a few more to make sure they blew them all up.

Even if a few occasionally survived the blast, it was fine; Cecilia could finish them off from the side.

…

** …

Hammer finished setting the explosives and notified Lynn and Cecilia.

Cecilia nodded.

“I’ll go lure them.” Cecilia poked her head out of the passage entrance and fired her bolter at the Greenskins without hesitation.

She turned the smallest Squig into a sieve.

When fighting an offensive-defensive battle in a narrow passage, these smallest Squigs were actually the most threatening.

The Greenskins didn’t react immediately, looking over here in a daze.

The silver power armor was very bright and conspicuous in the grayish-white light.

Seeing her, the Greenskins froze for a moment.

Then their walnut-sized brains finally processed it.

The Greenskins let out a furious roar.

“WAAAGH——!!!” The four Orks roared simultaneously, making the cave tremble.

The Ork camp in the distance also heard their roar, and Greenskins poured out like a tidal wave.

Cecilia retreated back to the passage entrance, standing sideways behind the stone wall.

This hole was truly ingenious, just like a door.

As long as you stood sideways behind the door, the Greenskins couldn’t attack you; they could only poke their heads or stick their weapons in to hit you.

But their weapons couldn’t turn corners.

As soon as the first Ork poked its head into the passage, Cecilia’s power sword slashed down.

The blade cut in from the back of the Ork’s head, slicing all the way to its chest.

The Ork fell without even having time to let out a cry.

Its head rolled into the cave, its body got stuck in the entrance, and green blood spilled all over the floor.

The Ork corpse stuck in the entrance was violently yanked away by the Greenskins behind it, and then a new Ork shoved its weapon inside.
