Eli looked around and he didn’t see anyone aside from them in the direction where the man was looking, so he asked, “Are you talking about the four of us?”
“Of course, who should I be talking to if not the four of you! Go back to your classes. You’re all part of the advanced classes now, you guys should stop loitering around like before and be more well-behaved,” the man said.
The man was obviously scolding and advising them, which could be heard from his tone of voice, but his face didn’t change at all.
But Eli didn’t mind how blank and expressionless the man in front of him was and still said, “Don’t worry teacher, we were just having a fun conversation so we lost track of the time, we’ll be going to our classrooms already.”
Then he looked at the three and said, “Guys let’s hurry and go, we can’t be late for our next class.”
“Bye, teacher, thanks for your reminder,” Eli said and then turned to the hallway, with the others following him.
When they’re a bit farther from the teacher Eli said, “It seems that we actually have an identity and we’re currently grade 10 students. Let’s go and attend our so-called classes, we might find something.”
“Is that really a good idea? Didn’t you see the face of that teacher and all the students here? Is it really good to mingle with them? I don’t even think they’re human…” Sean said.
“Let’s just go and check it out, we suddenly have a grade 10 identity so it might be useful,” Eli said.
“Mr. Randel, why don’t you stop Eli, I don’t think it’s a good idea,” Sean said to Ren.
“Joining such classes is indeed reckless. We can stay out of the rooms and observe a bit more before going in, if necessary. Even if our sudden identity as grade 10 students is indeed useful, we can still look around first before joining the class directly,” Ren said.
“No, it’s not a good idea to separate at this time while we still don’t know what’s going on,” Ren said.
Eli rolled his eyes and said, “You guys don’t want to enter the class, so I suggested splitting up. We could even discover more things while separating, so you guys should just go and see what’s going on in other places.”
“Oh, I’ll just take Bran with me, so the two of you could go to other places,” Eli added.
Then he looked at Ren and said, “It’s not good to stay in this place for a long time. You could tell it too, right? Or have your senses and intuition gone dull after I haven’t seen you for a few years?”
Ren sighed and said, “Okay, you can go to class with Bran. I will go around and look for clues with Sean. Let’s meet at the garden again in an hour.”
“Ok, Bran let’s go or we’ll be late for class,” Eli said while putting his hand on Bran’s shoulder.
“Do I have to go too,” Bran said, obviously unwilling to go with him.
“Yep, unfortunately, you have to go with me, so don’t look so unwilling, they would also be sneaking around so their job is actually harder than us who just have to go and join a class,” Eli said with a chuckle while dragging Bran towards the grade 10 classroom while waving his other hand to Ren and Sean.
“Oh,” Bran sighed and then said, “It’s because I’m the weakest, right? I can’t wander with Mr. Randel because I might not be able to run far. At least, it would be easier to sneak around with Mr. Felle as he’s more physically fit than me.” This chapter was copied from novelping dot com without permission.
“It’s good that you’re aware, you’ll just have to improve later. Don’t worry, with me around nothing will happen to you. And just like I said, ours is still easier since we just have to stay in the class and meet up with them after an hour.”
“But those students are scary, I’m not sure I can even stay with them for a long time without screaming,” Bran honestly said.
“Then just think of them as potatoes, or other things so that they won’t be too scary for you. Don’t worry about other things like communication and looking for clues, I’ll be doing it. Of course if you notice something, you should also pay attention to it and tell me about it later, and even if I handle most of the communication you should still prepare yourself to answer some questions if asked. But when answering, you should answer as briefly as you could and avoid giving away any information about us because we don’t even know if we are currently using our own names or using others, so you should be careful.”
“Thanks for reminding me, Mr. Arne,” Bran said.
“Ok, no need for thanks. By the way, you should also remind me if you see any of your classmates and schoolmates because I don’t recognize all of them.”
He had only been at the school for less than a week and it isn’t even full days, and he hadn’t seen all the students yet, so he actually doesn’t have any problems recognizing all Bran’s classmates, but he’ll have a problem recognizing all the students from their school.
Bran nodded and said, “No problem.”
They were walking quickly, so even before Bran nodded, they already saw the classroom that they had to be in and quickly entered.
Fortunately, he had taken notes of all the teachers’ schedules that he saw on the doors while moving through the hallway, so he still found their classroom after knowing that they’re part of the advanced classes.
As soon as they entered, all the students in the room looked at them with their blank eyes and expressionless faces, and then they heard a raspy voice from the front without even seeing anyone at the front of the room saying, “Both of you are late!”
