Eli couldn’t see anyone at the front at all, but he quickly estimated the distance of the voice he heard and the direction the students were facing before they entered, and quickly faced that direction and talked as if he didn’t have any problem and could really see someone in front of him, and as if he didn’t notice anything wrong about the blank stares of all the students in the room.
“Oh, we’re sorry, he just had a stomachache and actually a headache so we came from the clinic, but we only got the medicine since he doesn’t want to miss any class. But he’s still sick so it took a longer time for us to come back,” Eli said while pointing at Bran who had become even paler.
He doesn’t think it’s a problem letting Bran pretend to be sick because he had been pale because of fright many times already and now he is even sweating so he just looks like a person who’s sick and doesn’t have to waste any effort in pretending to be one.
“Okay, then back to your seats, our class is about to start,” replied the teacher who he couldn’t see at all.
“Can we sit at the back? I want to accompany him. If his illness worsens I want to bring him to the clinic again so I have to check on him from time to time.”
“Just go, don’t block here in front, we’ll be starting our classes.”
Eli nodded and quickly guided Bran to the very back of the classroom where no one was sitting.
“Pay attention properly,” Eli whispered while guiding Bran to sit on his chair and while subtly pointing in front.
They couldn’t see the person speaking in front so they have to be even more mindful of their actions and couldn’t be careless as it seems that all the others could see the teacher but they couldn’t.
Even though the students have blank and expressionless faces, where they were looking at was still obvious.
That’s why he could still face the same direction as if he was the same as the others and doesn’t have any problems hearing only a voice without seeing any person at all.
He also reminded Bran again because they’re still in the classroom and it would be harder to notice something since they couldn’t even see their teacher.
The teacher that had called them before was clearly visible and just expressionless just like the students, so Eli didn’t expect that the teacher in their class was actually invisible.
Fortunately, he was able to react quickly, and acted normally as he doesn’t know if there’s a consequence if they acted too differently from the other students in the classroom who seem to have no problem seeing the teacher in front of them, so it’s better to be more mindful.
After sitting, Eli continued observing everything in the classroom while also listening to the teacher speaking in front.
They’re currently studying science and fortunately the teacher was using presentation slides so they don’t need to use any books at all which would be even harder for them as they don’t know if they even have books.
A few students who were also writing expressionlessly, but according to his observation, not all of them were actually taking notes of what the teacher was teaching as the direction of the strokes of their hands were certainly different.
Aside from that he didn’t see anything different aside as they had already seen that the students in the school all had blank and expressionless faces.
As for the invisible teacher, after sitting for a while he was finally able to sense where the invisible teacher was even if he doesn’t focus on his hearing to ascertain the direction of the face and observe where the students were looking at.
It isn’t very noticeable, but there’s actually a very faint gray outline around where the teacher was.
The color was really very faint and the color was even near transparent so it’s not easy to notice the difference while they’re in a classroom which is full of a lot of things.
At least with the faint gray outline, even though he couldn’t see much, he could still ascertain the height and body shape of the teacher aside from knowing that the teacher was a male.
With how the students and teachers were behaving like normal students and teachers, he couldn’t see any clue on how they could get out of the place where they were in.
They were proceeding with the class smoothly, but when the teacher finally started asking questions, Eli quickly knew that he and Bran were being targeted.
He doesn’t know why, but it seems that the teacher was keen on finding ways to punish them.
He had already noticed the bit of displeasure in the teacher’s voice when he had perfectly made an excuse for the two of them when they were late, but he didn’t pay attention to it because some teachers would really be annoyed and displeased when it comes to students being late.
So he didn’t play much attention to the displeasure that he noticed from the tone of the teacher before, but now it seems that there are actually other reasons why.
The questions that were being asked of them were always more difficult compared to the questions from other students.
Fortunately, Bran was also very good in science so he was able to answer every question that the teacher was asking him; of course, it’s also the same for him.
The science class that they were taking was considered to be a bit more difficult for regular students since they’re part of the advance class; however, the teacher kept throwing questions that were obviously harder compared to the questions asked to the other students.
The teacher had also said before that all those who couldn’t answer properly would be punished, so he and Bran just answered the questions honestly. You are reading on novelping dot com, the official source.
Of course, if Bran wasn’t with him, he actually wanted to try and give a wrong answer to see what would happen because the teacher seems to be eager for them to make some mistake.
After rounds of questions and answers, the teacher finally asked a question that Bran couldn’t obviously answer because they hadn’t learned it yet and they’ll probably have to study such more advance topics when they’re in a higher grade level.
“What’s wrong, can’t you answer my question? You’ll be punished,” the teacher asked, in his raspy voice.
As soon as Bran heard it, he became even paler, clearly not knowing what to say.
So Eli quickly said while touching Bran’s forehead, “It seems that his headache has worsened that’s why he can’t think properly. Can I answer the question for him and take him to the clinic? It seems that his body really aches because he’s already having difficulty in answering such a simple question.”
He had quickly used the excuse that Bran was sick as a reason why they’re late before so that he could use it to give additional cover to Bran in case he messed up, because it’s still easy to use it again. It seems that his decision was correct as it could help Bran get out of his predicament.
Bran also acted as if he is already getting dizzy, so Eli said again, “His headache seems to have even worsened, he looks like he will pass out. I need to take him to the clinic.”
“Then answer my question first,” the teacher said while getting near them after he finished speaking.
Eli followed the teacher’s movement and answered while looking in the direction where he could see the outline of the teacher.
After answering, he quickly said, “Then, I’ll bring him to the clinic.”
He didn’t even wait for the teacher’s confirmation and quickly helped Bran to get out of the classroom and go in the direction where the clinic was located.
The atmosphere in the classroom had been deteriorating every time they answered the questions correctly.
Even though he couldn’t see anything from the expressions of the students, and couldn’t see the expression of the invisible teacher, he could feel that all of them were getting more and more dissatisfied with them every time they answered the question correctly, and the atmosphere of the classroom was increasingly becoming unsettling.
When the teacher was getting nearer to where they were without speaking, Eli could feel and see that the invisible teacher was actually paying attention to them, and if he had messed up then that teacher would take it as an opportunity to punish them with something.
That’s why he didn’t even wait for the teacher to speak again and quickly guided Bran out, because he could increasingly feel that they’ll be in danger if they continued staying in the classroom.
