Could it be that she missed him so much she could not wait to see him? Gu Shao could not help but wonder, though he felt it was unlikely. Still, this was Su Su’s first time coming to see him. They had been married for three years, and this was the first time she had come to his workplace.

In the past, when he worked himself to exhaustion, he would call her to come pick him up, but she always refused, saying there was already a driver, so why should she go? Besides, her driving skills were not that good.

How could a driver be the same as her? But she did not understand. Even when he wanted to say more, seeing her indifferent expression, he lost the will to continue. He already knew that the person in her heart was Gu Hao, so what was left to say?Full novel: What Should I Do After Transmigrating Into the Female Supporting Character’s Mother? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Yet today, for no particular reason, she had come.

To his own surprise, Gu Shao found himself genuinely happy about it.

…

As the CEO’s private elevator doors opened, one receptionist tugged at her colleague’s sleeve in surprise. The other covered her mouth in shock when she saw who stepped out.

Noticing their reaction, Su Su followed their gaze and saw Gu Shao surrounded by people across the vast lobby. The aura he carried was almost imperial, completely different from the goofy managers at the small company she used to work at in her previous life.

Su Su stepped forward, but a group of people hurried past her from behind and reached Gu Shao first, grabbing his hand.

Su Su: “…”

She saw the same surprise in Gu Shao’s eyes.

“President Gu, hello, hello. Your company is truly too courteous, you even came down personally to receive us…”

Gu Shao looked at the man holding his hand and speaking, unable to recognize him. He did not recall having any meetings scheduled with partners today. He glanced at his assistant, who leaned in and whispered, “President Liu from MK, here to discuss a promotional project.”

One of the receptionists sneered softly. “I knew it, the CEO is here to meet a client. If that woman thought he came for her, that would be ridiculous.”

Meanwhile, Su Su had already been awkwardly pushed to the outer edge of the crowd.

Gu Shao did not care who this President Liu was. He had no such person on his schedule. Looking at Su Su, now completely obscured by the crowd, he felt a bit anxious.

He interrupted Liu and said, “Apologies. Let me introduce my wife.”

“What?” Though his voice was not loud, everyone froze. They looked around him, but there was no woman nearby.

Following his gaze, the crowd parted. Su Su saw everyone looking at her, so she smiled and greeted them. Under their stunned gazes, she was led away by Gu Shao.

After they left, President Liu stood there speechless.

Someone on his team snapped him out of it. “President Liu, we should head to the planning department.”

He ran a hand through his hair. Of course, the CEO of Aurora would not personally come down to receive him. He had been here to pick up his wife. And he had rushed forward so eagerly that he had even pushed Mrs. Gu aside…

But something still felt off.

“Didn’t President Gu’s wife just give birth? She looked like a college student.”

“With President Gu’s wealth, how many women couldn’t he have? As long as the official wife does not know, it’s fine, right?”

“But he said it openly in his own company… sigh, young people really know how to play. He must be good at charming girls.”

The “charmed girl” was currently being pulled into her husband’s arms in the elevator.

“I heard someone was still hungry?”

The one who had been bold over text suddenly lost all confidence face to face. Her cheeks flushed instantly, her skin glowing like a ripe apple.

The lunchbox had long since been taken by Gu Shao. Su Su pressed both hands against his solid chest and pushed him away. “I’m full, I already ate before coming. Mom asked me to bring you food. Once I deliver it, I’ll leave.”

The elevator doors opened. Gu Shao reached for her hand to lead her out, but Su Su clung to the doorframe and refused to move. “There were so many people downstairs just now, I was too embarrassed to leave. It should be cleared out now. You go back to work, I’ll just head down.”

Gu Shao looked at her and gave a soft laugh. “You think you can just leave after coming here?”

Su Su shook her head.

Gu Shao pushed the lunchbox back into her arms. Before she could react, he scooped her up and carried her out of the elevator.

Startled, Su Su whispered urgently in his arms, “Put me down, Gu Shao.”

Although it was his private elevator, this floor was not occupied by him alone. If someone saw them, it would be far too embarrassing.

“…I’ll walk by myself, I won’t go back yet, okay?”

“Too late.”

Su Su: “…”

Once inside the office, she was tossed onto the sofa. “Wait, don’t tell me you’ve already forgotten what you did this morning. My waist still hurts.”

“Why are you suddenly saying that? Did I say I was going to do anything?”

If you are not planning anything, then why are you tugging at your clothes? Did she look blind?

Before Gu Shao could make a move, Su Su quickly sat up and placed the lunchbox on the table. “I made this myself, hurry and eat before it gets cold.”

She looked at him with wide, bright eyes.

Gu Shao, whose mind had been full of her teasing from earlier, snapped back to his senses when he heard, “I made this myself.”

“You made it?” he asked, puzzled.

Knowing what he was doubting, Su Su explained, “I learned it online. Cooking is actually really simple.”

Gu Shao said nothing. He opened the neatly packed lunchbox layer by layer. There were only two tiers, rice on the bottom and several dishes separated into compartments on top.

He took a bite. It was a flavor he had never tasted before.

Seeing Su Su watching him, his heart softened. He nodded and said softly, “It’s very good.”

“Right?”

“It really is very good.”

“Haha, of course. I’m naturally talented, you know?”

But Gu Shao’s heart sank slightly. He recalled how, after giving birth to Zaizai, she had once tried to cook and nearly blew up the kitchen.

Now, looking at her cheerful expression.

The food truly tasted good, yet it was also true that she was not suited for cooking.

Could it be that she had secretly practiced for a long time and was pretending it was her first attempt?

That did not seem likely. Her only attempt at cooking had been two months before she got pregnant with Wanwan. At that time, she still had to care for infant Zaizai, though she preferred playing to taking care of him.

In any case, it was certain she had not practiced during that period.

After she became pregnant with Wanwan, no one would have allowed her to cook. Then came her confinement period, and after returning home, only a few days had passed.

Gu Shao could not figure out how her cooking had improved so drastically.

After hesitating for a while, he finally said, “Even if you had brought takeout, it would have been fine. The fact that you came is what matters.”

What he meant was, your coming is enough for me, yet he phrased it as, the fact that you came is what matters. Clearly, he was not someone who spoke plainly.

Su Su, however, laughed and lightly hit him. “Am I crazy, bringing you takeout? I made this. If you don’t believe me, I’ll cook again when I get home.”

She had no memory of the original owner cooking.

She assumed that what she could not recall had never happened, not realizing that people often forget things that are not particularly memorable.

“Alright, then cook for me every day when we get home,” Gu Shao said, deliberately stressing the word “cook.”

Su Su immediately understood what he meant.

Shameless. She was about to hit him.

“I meant cooking food!”

“So did I. What did you think I meant?”

This man really was not honest at all…

After finishing the meal and rinsing up, Gu Shao came out to find Su Su lying on the sofa reading a magazine. Her smooth legs were lightly raised, her upper body slightly lifted, outlining the soft curve of her back. The hem of her white T-shirt had ridden up a little, revealing a glimpse of her fair, delicate waist.

Gu Shao walked over, crouched beside her, and gently stroked her soft hair. “You said your waist hurts, let me massage it for you,” he said softly. His voice was already naturally attractive, and when he lowered it deliberately, Su Su nearly swallowed.

“I lied, it doesn’t hurt at all,” Su Su quickly sat up.

“Good. Since you don’t hurt, I do.”

How could he say something like that with such a serious expression?

“I’ve rested enough, I should go home now.”

Su Su got up and ran.

But he caught her by the waist, pulled her back, and threw her onto the sofa again.

It was over. She knew she could not escape this. Her mother had clearly sent her here to her doom.

…

Things were halfway through when the door suddenly burst open with a loud bang. Su Su was startled back to awareness and quickly buried herself in Gu Shao’s arms.

Gu Shao reacted faster, immediately pulling her into his arms and shielding her tightly. His expression darkened as he looked toward the door, clearly displeased.

To his surprise, the person who entered was a woman he did not employ. The moment she saw him, she began scolding loudly, “Gu Shao, I didn’t expect you to be this kind of person. How can you face my sister?”

“Get out!”

The woman tried to step closer to accuse him further, but a dangerous glint appeared in Gu Shao’s eyes. “Get out. Don’t make me say it a third time. You won’t want to know the consequences.”

The woman bit her lip and stood there for a moment but did not dare step forward again.

Curious about who she was, Su Su peeked out, but before she could clearly see her face, a wave of irritation and impatience surged from within.

In that instant, Su Su realized that the feeling did not belong to her.
