Ren Jingshu gave the two of them a reassuring smile and urged them to leave quickly.

“I’ll catch up soon. Don’t worry.”

Seeing how firm she was, the two had no choice but to support their father and leave step by step, constantly looking back over their shoulders.Full novel: What’s there to fear about the whole family being exiled? After watching them leave, Black Wind was still standing quietly under a tree, its large eyes fixed on her as if urging her to hurry over.

“Be good, wait for me. I’ll be out soon.”

She reached out to pat its head, but it dodged aside—though it didn’t kick her again.

Ren Jingshu smiled faintly. With a thought, she retrieved a large apple from her spatial storage and held it to its mouth.

“Eat. If you behave, I’ll bring you more good food next time.”

This apple from her space was not only sweet and juicy but also carried a rich fragrance.

Black Wind initially glanced at it disdainfully, but upon smelling the aroma, its eyes lit up instantly. It couldn’t resist and began crunching it eagerly.

Ren Jingshu smiled subtly and quickly returned to the prison to make final arrangements.

She had already counted—there were eighteen people released earlier, plus the Ren family father and sons, making a total of twenty-one.

Inside the prison, she walked back to the previous cell.

“Waaah… Father, wake up! You can’t die…”

Ren Second Uncle was still vomiting blood, while Ren Yilin clung to him, crying loudly.

“Big sister! I knew you would come save us!”

Seeing her return, Ren Yilin’s eyes lit up. He crawled to the cell door and grabbed the wooden bars, shouting.

But suddenly his voice stopped, as if his throat had been stuffed with cotton. His eyes widened in disbelief.

Because he saw something terrifying.

With a cold smile, Ren Jingshu waved her hand—and a pile of black objects appeared in front of him.

Only then did he realize they weren’t objects at all, but corpses with gruesome, brutal deaths.

Before he could scream, he swallowed it back down.

Ren Jingshu calmly counted them—just right.

She had only counted the adults; the children were not included.

Earlier, she had secretly stored the black-clothed assassins who attempted to kill the prince in her space, saving them for this moment.

Seeing him stare at her blankly, she did not hide anything. Instead, she circulated her spiritual energy, and a small blue flame appeared on her fingertip.

The flame was much stronger than before.

Good—her power was still growing. That was reassuring.

“Go.”

With a thought, the flame leapt onto the straw pile and instantly ignited the entire cell.

“Monster! You’re not my sister—you’re a monster!”

Ren Yilin screamed in terror.

Ren Jingshu simply stood there, smiling without response.

Soon, flames spread across the entire prison.

Ren Second Uncle forced his eyes open and saw his son engulfed in fire, rolling in agony. His heart shattered, and he reached out desperately—but could not touch him.

Ren Jingshu watched quietly, a satisfied smile on her lips.

Revenge truly felt refreshing.

Seeing there was no chance of survival left, she went to other areas and dealt with the remaining officers as well.

By the time she left the prison, flames were already shooting high into the sky.

Black Wind had been circling anxiously. When it saw her return, it let out a soft neigh.

“Good boy. Let’s go before we’re discovered.”

She mounted Black Wind and rode swiftly through the forest, exiting the city via the same path.

She was very satisfied with tonight’s operation. Although it had taken some time, everything went smoothly and the people were successfully rescued.

Behind her, commotion erupted—people had discovered the fire and were trying to put it out.

Ren Jingshu sneered.

That fire wasn’t ordinary. A few buckets of water wouldn’t put it out anytime soon.

She hummed softly as she rode, feeling relaxed and pleased.

After leaving the city, Black Wind quickly caught up with the group ahead.

Although they were all men, they had been tortured in prison and were moving slowly while supporting one another.

Qisha and Tianji carried the children on horseback, while the others helped each other along the way.

“Miss, is everything handled?” Ren Yizhen asked, glancing back toward the city.

At that moment, flames had already lit up half the sky.

“Fire?” he gasped, then suddenly realized.

“You set the prison on fire?!”

He grew anxious. If the prison burned, and the bodies didn’t match tomorrow, it would be obvious they had escaped.

The others also looked worried, though no one blamed her.

After all, she had saved them.

“We should leave first. Everything inside is handled—the bodies are complete, more than enough,” Ren Jingshu said calmly.

“Let’s hurry. Before dawn, we must reach Prince Xian’s side and plan our next steps.”

She dismounted Black Wind due to her father’s injuries. The horse clearly disliked it, so she quietly fed it another apple.

“Be good. That’s my father. If you behave, I’ll give you more apples next time.”

Though reluctant, Black Wind eventually lowered its head and allowed it.

The group continued onward.

As dawn approached, they realized their strange appearance made it unsafe to stay on the main road.

Just as Ren Jingshu was about to suggest resting briefly, they suddenly heard hoofbeats approaching from ahead.
