Xing Hui brought the man back to his residence, laid him down on the bed and checked the back of You Miao’s neck. It was slightly swollen and flushed and the sight of it stirred up a wave of irritation in him.

His mouth cursed, “Serves you right, who told you to provoke me,” while in his heart he was already cursing himself for not knowing his own strength. As a high tier alpha, he had gone too far; how could an ordinary alpha possibly endure that?

Xing Hui’s entire demeanor turned gloomy, his mood foul to the extreme. He sat by the bedside, waiting for the unconscious You Miao, staring without blinking, with an intensity that bordered on fixation, as if his mind were calculating something unknown.Full novel: When a Straight Guy Transmigrates into an Alpha, He Can Get Pregnant — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Only when the ringtone of his phone sounded did it interrupt his thoughts. Xing Hui immediately cut the call off. A glance at the screen showed it was his father. Only then did he stand up and step out of the bedroom.

“It’s already six. Where are you?” Xing Mingyuan’s voice came through the phone.

“I’m not going. They’ll receive you, what do I need to be there for?” Xing Hui replied, restless and impatient. “Dad, I’m not in the mood. I don’t want to go.”

“And what did you promise me?” Xing Mingyuan’s tone was unhurried. “You can choose not to come but after tomorrow’s graduation ceremony, I’ll have you tied up and taken back to the capital. If that happens, don’t blame your old man, it’ll be you going back on your word.”

Xing Hui’s brows drew together tightly. He glanced toward the bedroom. That person was so disobedient, there was no way he could return to the capital for now. He’d have to wait until he became obedient… then he could bring him home.

Xing Hui took a deep breath. “Fine. I’ll go now.”

After hanging up, he returned to the bedroom. Looking at the figure still lying unconscious on the bed, the mere thought of those words, “Mr. Xing,” “Boss Xing”, made his chest tighten with anger, as if his heart, liver, spleen and lungs were all being squeezed.

This bastard, damn it, he really deserves,

Xing Hui couldn’t suppress the agitation in his chest. The coldness in his eyes gradually filled with anger. He bent down, leaned in close, reached out and pinched You Miao’s chin, turning his face to the left to examine it, then to the right to inspect it again. He let out a scornful laugh. “Who the hell do you think you are? Some kind of celestial beauty?”

He stared at that face, his eyes still brimming with fury, as if You Miao had already become some unforgivable villain in his mind.

But when his thoughts, out of his control, began replaying all of this person’s “offenses” in front of him and then those tears, his hand slowly withdrew.

For now, dealing with his father was more important. There would be plenty of time later to deal with him.

With that in mind, Xing Hui called the housekeeper, Aunt Wang, asking her to come over and work overtime tonight to keep an eye on You Miao.

When Aunt Wang arrived and saw You Miao lying on the bed with both hands and feet tied, she immediately frowned. “Young master, tying him up like this will be uncomfortable and when he wakes up, the two of you will just end up arguing again.”

Xing Hui’s handsome face looked like a storm was about to break. “That’s because he won’t behave.” Though he said it like that, he still untied You Miao’s hands and feet. Then he added to Aunt Wang, “I’ve arranged for someone to watch the door. If he wakes up and tries to run, call me immediately.”

Aunt Wang couldn’t understand why young people would make a relationship so complicated but she simply nodded in agreement.

It wasn’t until seven in the evening that Xing Hui arrived at the restaurant.

Back when his parents had been in Haishi, they had founded a military academy, which later developed into a university town. They had promoted several officials and although they had since returned to the capital, the Haishi side still remained under the Xing family’s control.

Tomorrow was his graduation ceremony, so naturally his father would be present. The last visit had been a private trip but this time he was attending as the founder of the institution as well as the Commander of the Capital Military Region.

Therefore, there was an official reception that evening. From the provincial secretary and the mayor to the municipal chairman and the police chief, a whole group of officials were present.

Xing Hui had never liked occasions like this. That was precisely why he had left home for another city and thrown himself into the military academy for several years.

However, with such a powerful background behind him, he didn’t need to watch anyone’s expressions at events like these, nor did he need to curry favor with anyone. He could simply act as he pleased.

Although his father appeared strict with him, in truth he indulged him without limit. After all, he only had this one precious son.

Even so, Xing Hui didn’t carry the arrogance of a third generation official. He was polite, respectful to his elders and during his time at school, he got along well with teachers, instructors and classmates alike.

At the beginning, he had concealed his identity and trained with his peers in earnest, exchanging real blows. It was only after one occasion, when his bruised and battered face was seen by his father and uncle, that no one dared to go all out against him again.

After entering the private room, Xing Hui greeted each leader one by one, starting with his father. To him, they were all elders of his father’s generation. Rank, power, or background didn’t matter, offering greetings was basic courtesy.

Once he was done, he casually found a seat, sat down and took out his phone to check the surveillance footage from home.

At some point, Xing Mingyuan spoke. “All you do all day is play on your phone. What are you looking at so intently?”

Only then did Xing Hui shift his attention away from the screen. “Nothing.”

In truth, Xing Mingyuan had already caught a glimpse of his phone screen. Seeing him staring at surveillance footage, he couldn’t help but ask, “Did you start keeping a pet at home or something?”

Xing Hui locked his phone and slipped it into his pocket, answering vaguely, “Yeah. Just got one but it’s very disobedient, so I’m checking the surveillance.”

Xing Mingyuan gave him a look, as if offering a deliberate warning. “Don’t go messing around.”

Xing Hui curled his lips slightly. “Dad, it’s just a pet. What trouble could there be?”

At around eight thirty, Aunt Wang’s call came through. Xing Hui immediately stood up. “Dad, I’ve got something to take care of, I’ll head back first.” With that, he strode quickly out of the private room.

You Miao had woken up. The moment he realized he had been brought back to Xing Hui’s home and was being watched, rage surged through him. Ignoring Aunt Wang’s attempts to stop him, he headed straight for the door. The instant he opened it, several bodyguards blocked his way.

You Miao was so furious that his entire body trembled. His mind buzzed, almost going blank, did laws even exist in this world anymore?

By the time Xing Hui returned home, You Miao was already in the living room. The moment he saw him, he rushed forward in uncontrollable anger, demanding to know what exactly he was trying to do, accusing him of breaking the law.

Xing Hui looked at him with cold eyes, as though amused. “I asked you what you were trying to do and you refused to answer. So don’t expect to get any answers from me either.”

That single sentence choked You Miao into silence. After a long moment, he finally said, “I’m going to call the police. This is illegal detention!”

“The police?” Xing Hui let out a faint laugh, as if hearing the same old line again. “Sure, I’ll call them for you.” He took out his phone and dialed. “Hello, someone here wants to report illegal detention, against me.” Then he held the phone up to You Miao’s ear. “Go on. Tell the police.”

Only then did You Miao remember, this man had once led a group of police officers to arrest him. In his mind, that meant Xing Hui had bought them off, that they were all on the same side. Thinking this, he slapped the phone away, flustered and panicked, his threat lacking conviction. “I’ll report this to the bureau chief! I’ll file a complaint with the mayor’s office! You bribed the police!”

“Bribed the police?” Xing Hui didn’t know whether to be angry or speechless. He laughed, utterly composed. “Fine. You want to report it to the bureau chief, you want to complain to the mayor’s office, I’ll give you that opportunity.” He paused. “Do you also want to expose me to the media?”

You Miao’s emotions flared again under his provocation. “You scumbag! You tyrant! You’ll end up in prison! You’ll be executed!”

A trace of disdain curled at Xing Hui’s lips. “Oh? I’m so scared.”

Seeing how utterly unhinged he seemed, You Miao’s eyes reddened with anger. Unable to restrain himself any longer, he swung his fist and punched Xing Hui square in the face.

Xing Hui didn’t dodge. He took the punch head on. You Miao hadn’t held back at all, blood immediately appeared at the corner of Xing Hui’s mouth. He raised a hand to touch it, then gave a light laugh. “Looks like you’ve really recovered. Got your strength back.” As he spoke, he grabbed You Miao by the collar. “You just got discharged from the hospital, so I won’t argue with you. Zhou You, I suggest you don’t test my patience.”

You Miao glared at him, so furious his breathing became uneven. After a long moment of gritted teeth, he spat at him.

Xing Hui’s face turned slightly to the side but some of the spit still landed on him. His expression instantly became dark and terrifying. “I said I wouldn’t argue with you because you just got out of the hospital. Don’t push my patience!”

Ignoring You Miao’s struggle, he dragged him into the bedroom and threw him onto the bed. Then he picked up a rope. “You refuse to live a good life, insisting on making trouble for yourself!”

You Miao was tied up again and this time even his mouth was sealed, by a kiss.

Xing Hui bound him, kissed him and barely paused for breath before pressing his lips down again. Only when You Miao stopped struggling and stopped cursing him did he finally pull away.

That night, You Miao only fell asleep after being injected with a sedative.

Xing Hui’s mood was so poor that it affected his performance at the graduation ceremony the next day. He was distracted the entire time. The moment it ended, he declined all social engagements and rushed straight back to his residence.

Of course, he had arranged for some people to come over.

After the sedative wore off, You Miao no longer made a scene. He curled up at the corner of the bed, clutching his head, his emotions in a terrible state.

When Xing Hui returned home and saw him like this, his irritation only deepened. He didn’t know whether he was angry at You Miao or at himself. Restless, he went out onto the balcony and smoked half a pack of cigarettes before returning to the bedroom.

You Miao didn’t want to see him, didn’t want him to touch him but Xing Hui insisted. He wrapped his arms around him, gently stroking his face. “There are guests coming tonight. I don’t want them to see you like this. I’ll get you changed.” As he spoke, he kissed his trembling eyelids.

You Miao was bare from the waist down, wearing one of Xing Hui’s sleep shirts on top. His hair was messy, his spirit low. In just two days, he had fallen silent, offering no response at all.

Xing Hui let out a sigh, lifted him up, carried him back onto the bed and began dressing him, combing his hair.

Once he was properly dressed, the guests arrived. Xing Hui asked, “Do you want me to carry you out, or will you walk on your own?”

You Miao didn’t answer. He walked out of the bedroom and saw more than twenty people seated around the long table in the living room.

Xing Hui stepped up beside him, wrapping an arm around his shoulders. “Darling, let me introduce you.”

Then, starting from the highest ranking officials, Xing Hui introduced them one by one: the municipal party secretary, the mayor, the director of the petition office, the city minister, the chairman, the chief of public security, the political and legal affairs committee secretary, the court president, the chief prosecutor, along with well known media figures, prominent lawyers, judges, prosecutors… anyone with status and influence in the city had been invited.

After finishing the introductions, Xing Hui looked at You Miao’s pale face. “Didn’t you say you wanted to report me? I’ve gathered everyone with authority in this city. Go ahead, file your complaint.”

You Miao’s mind went blank. He stared at those people, unable to process Xing Hui’s words.

Xing Hui pulled him closer into his arms. “Oh, right, I almost forgot to introduce you to the leaders. This is my boyfriend.”

At those words, something inside You Miao snapped.

“I’m not his boyfriend!”

“I was kidnapped and locked up here by him!”

“Please, help me, please!”

“Detention like this is illegal!”

“I’m begging you… this man, he’s kept me here for days. Please help me…”

He pleaded in desperation, his voice breaking, on the verge of collapse yet not a single person moved.

Only Xing Hui did. He gathered the nearly shattered You Miao back into his arms, lifting him up. “My apologies, everyone. I need to calm him down. Please take care on your way out. I’ll treat you all to a meal another day.”
