Even when drunk, Lu Qi didn’t show it on his face—only his dazed, bewildered eyes gave him away. In the past, whenever he got drunk, he would quietly stay by himself.
Then, as if nothing had happened, he’d go home, lie down on the bed, and sleep it off. He had never been as troublesome as he was tonight.
“Mmm, wife~” Lu Qi buried his face in Ji Qingyan’s neck, his messy hair rubbing against Ji Qingyan’s chin, making him feel a little ticklish.
The other’s scorching breath brushed against his neck. Ji Qingyan tilted his head back, exposing his slender neck to Lu Qi’s gaze.
Lu Qi lifted his face, his eyes revealing a hint of confusion. Suddenly, Ji Qingyan’s Adam’s apple bobbed a few times, instantly capturing his attention.
He reached out and touched Ji Qingyan’s Adam’s apple, saying with a look of astonishment, “Wife, it moves.”
Ji Qingyan grabbed his wrist, lowering his gaze to stare at that beautiful face. Helplessly, he swallowed—wasn’t this just tempting him to commit a crime?
As if he had discovered something fun, Lu Qi kept touching his Adam’s apple, teasing it up and down.
“Stop touching it randomly.”
A soft sensation spread across his neck, and only then did Ji Qingyan realize that Lu Qi was kissing his Adam’s apple.
He truly couldn’t stand it anymore. Ji Qingyan turned his head away and pushed at Lu Qi’s shoulders, but the person on top of him didn’t budge an inch. Lu Qi held him tightly, the veins on his arms bulging.
Why did this guy become so affectionate when he was drunk?
Ji Qingyan realized that the more he struggled, the tighter Lu Qi held him. He decided to stop resisting, which seemed to send a signal—Lu Qi grew even bolder, kissing his neck over and over again.
He could already imagine the sorry state his neck would be in the next day. Ji Qingyan raised his hand and pinched Lu Qi’s arm hard. “I’ll settle this with you once you’re sober.”
He kicked the other angrily, but the next second, his legs were trapped between Lu Qi’s. The pinch had been quite forceful, and Lu Qi winced in pain, hissing through gritted teeth.
He looked down at his pinched arm, where a clear red mark had appeared. Lu Qi gazed at Ji Qingyan with a pitiful expression, looking as if he were about to cry. “Wife, it hurts.”
“Serves you right.”
Lu Qi stretched his arm out in front of Ji Qingyan, bringing it close to his lips. “Kiss it.”
Ji Qingyan rolled his eyes and pushed his arm away. “No kiss. You’re the one acting all wronged here. Don’t think you can do whatever you want just because you’re drunk.”
A man nearly six feet tall, with tears in his eyes, acting coquettishly—the contrast was simply off the charts.
“Bad wife,” Lu Qi muttered softly.
He threw himself into Ji Qingyan’s arms, nipping at his neck with a hint of temper, as if seeking revenge.
“You’ve really had enough, Lu Qi.” Ji Qingyan hadn’t expected the other to become like a completely different person when drunk—both clingy and coquettish, far too noisy.
“If I’m bad, then let go of me.”
“No.” Lu Qi hugged him tighter, acting like a spoiled child.
“Don’t kiss so hard. How am I supposed to show my face tomorrow?” Ji Qingyan pushed away the head buried against his chest.
Lu Qi closed his eyes, fumbled around, and rolled over. He stretched out an arm, pulled the pillow that belonged to Ji Qingyan into his embrace, and hugged it tightly, sleeping soundly—even letting out soft snores.
Looking at his sorry state, Ji Qingyan felt anger with nowhere to vent. He might as well just throw him out—seeing him was an eyesore.
In the end, Lu Qi wasn’t kicked out. That face of his had saved him once again.
Ji Qingyan steadied his breathing, fetched his pajamas from the walk-in closet, and then headed into the bathroom to shower.
At one in the morning, Ji Qingyan emerged from the bathroom with a chill clinging to him, only to find his bed mostly occupied by someone.
He walked to the bedside and pushed the other’s thigh, urging him to move to the other side.
Lu Qi was clutching his pillow tightly, refusing to let go no matter how hard Ji Qingyan tugged. With a sigh, Ji Qingyan had never felt so helpless.
He walked to the other side of the bed, lifted the blanket, and lay down, sharing the same pillow with Lu Qi.
Catching a familiar scent, Lu Qi released the pillow in his arms, turned over, and wrapped his arms around the waist of the person beside him from behind.
Ji Qingyan pushed back against his chest with his hand. Having just managed to cool off with a cold shower, he wasn’t keen on needing another one.
Lu Qi held him from behind, noticing he had shifted forward slightly, and tightened his arms to pull him back.
Even through the pajamas, Lu Qi could feel a chill, instinctively holding him closer.
Lu Qi’s body temperature was high, and as Ji Qingyan nestled in his embrace, a steady warmth spread through his skin, quickly warming him up.
Turning to face him, Ji Qingyan reached back to feel Lu Qi’s back. Thanks to regular exercise, his muscles were firm and solid to the touch.
He lifted his head slightly and kissed the corner of Lu Qi’s mouth, his voice soft. “You little rascal, taking advantage of how much I like you to keep pushing my limits.”
He then kissed the tip of Lu Qi’s nose. “Goodnight, Qi Zai.”
Lu Qi suddenly tightened his arms, his lips brushing against Ji Qingyan’s forehead as if in response to his goodnight.
They weren’t officially a couple yet, but everything they did—hugging, sleeping together, kissing, even feeling jealous—was exactly what couples do.
