In Solaris-3-3, where profanity was highly impoverished, Scar had never believed anyone could genuinely infuriate him with a single sentence.

Now, he believed it.

As an Overseer of the Fractsidus, the most common labels he heard were harmless words like “cruel,” “monster,” or “karma will get you.” This was truly the first time anyone had insulted his mother.Full novel: Wuthering Waves: Gacha System in a Dark Timeline — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“You court death!” Scar’s eyes turned icy.

He crouched slightly, his knees suddenly exploding with force.

Like an arrow shot from a bow, he crossed three floating islands in a flash, launching himself toward You Luoming.

A flame-wrapped kick descended, shattering the ground beneath them into explosive cracks.

You Luoming had no doubt that Scar’s kick could easily shatter solid steel plates.

Yet, far from feeling any fear, his blood began to boil with excitement.

A cryptic smile flickered across his face as he secretly predicted: *A classic Scar opener.

That means the next combo should be…* Sure enough, Scar threw out several concealed cards.

Closely following the cards was a fierce, spinning kick.

The corners of You Luoming’s mouth twitched upward.

Instead of taking the blow head-on, he leaped backward, landing on another floating island, and called out mockingly, “Hey Scar, NMSL.” “What did you say?!” Flying into a rage, Scar sent two cards hurtling through the air, perfectly targeting You Luoming while he was mid-jump.

You Luoming used his time-stop to freeze them in mid-air, caught them effortlessly, and threw them back with force.

*Bang!* *Bang!* Explosions erupted as the cards burst into clouds of black smoke mid-air.

Scar leaped through the smoke, his icy eyes brimming with raw, unadulterated killing intent as he thrust both feet toward You Luoming.

Unsurprisingly, this strike missed as well.

Holding two cards in his hands, Scar used them as blade-like weapons, carving fiery red arcs through the air as he slashed diagonally at You Luoming’s side.

But You Luoming merely took a clever half-step to the right, effortlessly dodging the fierce strike, and then another half-step to the left to evade the follow-up slash from the opposite direction.

He retreated smoothly, widening the gap once more and bounding toward another floating island.

The two of them danced back and forth, trading ground, and before long, they had drifted far from the Whispering Oculus.

As his attacks missed repeatedly, the coldness on Scar’s face gradually gave way to fury.

He couldn’t help but roar, “You wretched rat!

Is running all you can do?” “So what?” You Luoming’s gaze subtly drifted past Scar’s shoulder.

In the distance, Yangyang and the others were already engaging the Fractsidus members near the Whispering Oculus.

The slightly stronger Fractsidus Resonators had already been spotted and dealt with beforehand thanks to his Sensor ability.

Coupled with the massive number of Fractsidus members he had eliminated earlier in the Central Plains.

The only ones left for Yangyang to deal with now were ordinary Fractsidus grunts, which her group should be more than capable of handling.

Furthermore, Scar, the strongest threat, had been successfully baited away.

He no longer had to worry about collateral damage to the Jinzhou civilians during a full-scale clash.

With these thoughts racing through his mind, a smile finally broke across You Luoming’s face.

At that very moment, a sudden change occurred in their surroundings.

A crimson, hemispherical barrier manifested out of thin air, trapping him and Scar together on a floating island roughly the size of a basketball court.

“Hehehe, did you really think you were the one leading me by the nose?” Scar laughed maniacally, covering his face as blood-red energy erupted around him.

His eyes shone with crazed delight.

“I set up this barrier long ago.

With a few simple tricks, I herded you right into my trap.

Now that you’re completely sealed in, let’s see where you can run!” “Well, aren’t you just amazing.” To Scar’s utter shock, the man before him showed not a shred of panic.

Instead, he calmly began to clap for him.

“Do you want me to give you a gold star?” A sudden chill crept up Scar’s spine, settling at the base of his skull.

An illusion suddenly gripped him—as if *he* was the one challenging a boss.

The moment the thought surfaced, Scar crushed it.

He hesitated no longer, raising his hand to fling a handful of cards toward You Luoming.

Yet You Luoming paced left and right in a seemingly casual manner, dodging every single card with flawless precision.

Frowning deeply, Scar unleashed all his remaining cards at once, hiding his form behind the flurry of paper as he lunged forward like a pouncing tiger.

His eyes locked onto You Luoming’s through the spinning cards.

In that split second, Scar saw a surge of wild enthusiasm hidden beneath the calm surface of those deep eyes.

It was as if this guy didn’t even view him as a person, but rather as some game boss with a health bar floating over his head.

In an instant, the Commando of Conviction materialized in You Luoming’s hand.

Keenly capitalizing on a fraction-of-a-second opening as Scar leaped through the air, he delivered a swift diagonal slash!

*What an incredibly fast blade!

What terrifying killing intent!* Caught completely off guard, Scar had no time to react.

The blade struck his wide-open midsection, tearing through his custom combat suit and leaving his very first wound.

Then came a second, a third, and a fourth!

Evade and counter!

After four rapid strikes, You Luoming pulled back, sheathing his blade.

His white casual clothes remained pristine and untouched by dust.

The murderous aura Scar had felt just moments ago vanished the second the blade clicked into its scabbard, buried as if it had never existed.

The sharp, lethal edge of the man before him was gone, leaving only a mild-mannered passerby.

Sharp pain made Scar gasp.

Activating his Resonance power, he used spatial compression to clamp his bleeding wounds shut.

“What a bizarre bastard…

You’re actually decent.

What’s your name?” “Before I answer that, I have a question of my own.” “Speak.” You Luoming stared intently at Scar, his breathing growing slightly heavy as he asked, “Where is the Rover?” This was the answer You Luoming desired most.

Ever since he failed to find the Rover in the Gorges of Spirits, he knew the plot of Wuthering Waves had veered off course.

And the first deviation he had discovered since crossing over was that Scar of the Fractsidus had invaded Jinzhou.

It could be said that the Fractsidus was the prime culprit behind this narrative shift, the source of the entire butterfly effect.

Since the Rover hadn’t appeared in the Gorges of Spirits, they had likely been abducted by the Fractsidus first.

“The Rover?

Heh, so you came for the Rover.” Scar sneered, covering his face.

*The Rover?

Who on earth is that?

Never heard of them.* However, Scar guessed that the “Rover” was probably just one of the Jinzhou civilians who had been turned into mindless husks by the corruption.

“Tell me.

Where is the Rover?” You Luoming’s voice grew urgent.

Scar simply shook his head, the killing intent in his eyes flaring up, though his tone remained utterly playful: “Do you want to know that badly?

Defeat me, and I’ll tell you!” He had initially thought of recruiting this capable guy into the Fractsidus, but it turned out the man had come for this so-called Rover.

Unfortunately, the civilians of Jinzhou City had already been reduced to mindless husks by the Whispering Oculus, and even the Fractsidus had no way of reversing such Threnodian corruption.

Thus, a blood feud had already been forged between this man and the Fractsidus.

Since recruitment was out of the question, there was only one option left—destroy him!

At this moment, Scar had no idea what a horrific beating his dramatic posturing was about to bring upon him.
