When it came time to leave work in the evening, Gu Tingshen walked out of his office with his suit jacket draped over his arm.

Shen Suiwan had just stood up when she heard him say, “I have a dinner engagement tonight. You go home first.”

A dinner engagement? She had never heard anything about it.Full novel: You Married Your White Moonlight, So Why Are You Going Crazy Now That I’m Getting Married? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She raised her eyes to look at him. His gaze toward her was as affectionate as ever, thoroughly bewitching.

In the past, no matter what he said, she would never have doubted it.

“I understand.” Shen Suiwan gave nothing away. “Remember to drink less.”

Gu Tingshen raised a hand to ruffle her hair and said with a smile, “I’ll do as you say.”

Shen Suiwan called a car and followed behind Gu Tingshen’s car the whole way.

They went all the way to the airport.

People came and went in the airport, but she could spot Gu Tingshen at a glance.

He wore a hand-tailored black suit that made him look all the more refined and upright, and his outstanding looks really did stand out in the crowd.

She also clearly saw a long-haired woman throw herself into Gu Tingshen’s arms, and Gu Tingshen did not refuse, he held her tightly.

The two of them really did look like a perfect match.

After the embrace, the woman even stood on tiptoe to kiss him. Gu Tingshen dodged and said something, but the woman would not let it go, and in the end she still kissed Gu Tingshen on the lips.

The sight of the two of them kissing deeply made Shen Suiwan sick.

More than that, it shocked her.

That woman was actually Gu Tingshen’s adopted sister, Gu Xirou.

Gu Xirou had lost both parents at the age of three, and because her family and the Gu family were old friends, the Gu family had taken her in.

She and Gu Tingshen had grown up together as brother and sister from childhood. Back when Shen Suiwan first got together with Gu Tingshen, Gu Tingshen had even arranged for the two of them to meet, and at the time Gu Xirou had called her “sister-in-law” over and over, warmly.

Three years ago Gu Xirou had gone abroad.

Who would have thought that the so-called brother and sister actually had such an improper relationship in private, and that they had even registered a marriage!

So the culprit behind that car accident was Gu Xirou?

…

What Shen Suiwan had expected even less was that Gu Tingshen actually brought Gu Xirou home.

His expression was as usual as he said to her, “Wanwan, my sister has come back to the country. Let her stay at our place for a while.”

Shen Suiwan’s ten fingers tightened, her nails digging hard into her flesh.

She still remembered how Gu Tingshen had brought her here, pulled her into his arms, and told her, “Wanwan, from now on this is our home, a home that belongs to the two of us alone.”

Back then she had thought this place would be her and Gu Tingshen’s home forever, so she had poured endless effort into it. Every inch of the decoration held her hard work, and every piece of furniture had been carefully chosen by her.

And now, Gu Tingshen had personally brought another woman in to move right in.

“Hello, Miss Shen.” Gu Xirou smiled at her, but in her eyes there was a barely perceptible mockery and provocation.

Five years ago she would still have said “sister-in-law”, now it was “Miss Shen” over and over.

Gu Tingshen looked at Gu Xirou, and there seemed to be a warning in his eyes, but there was more helplessness and indulgence.

Shen Suiwan thought that Gu Tingshen really did know how to trample on her dignity.

If she did not know the truth, at this moment she would probably have foolishly received Gu Xirou in the role of “sister-in-law.” In their eyes, how laughable would that be?

“Brother, does Miss Shen not welcome me?” Gu Xirou looked at Gu Tingshen innocently, on the verge of tears. “I know, I’m disturbing the two of you. Otherwise I’d better go stay at a hotel. I’ll be fine on my own…”

Gu Tingshen immediately frowned and looked at Shen Suiwan. He was about to speak when he heard Shen Suiwan say, “It’s fine.”

His words caught in his throat at once.

Shen Suiwan’s expression was indifferent. “Miss Gu, you can stay as long as you like.”

Having said that, she turned and walked back to the bedroom where she was staying.

Gu Xirou was still treating her as an enemy.

But she did not know that Shen Suiwan no longer wanted any of it, neither this home nor Gu Tingshen.

Even if they really were enemies, it would be because of that car accident, but Shen Suiwan did not tip them off.

Gu Xirou felt very uncomfortable. She had thought Shen Suiwan would make a scene with Gu Tingshen, but who would have thought this woman could be so calm?

Heh, it didn’t matter… once she found out she was only a counterfeit Madam Gu, they would see whether she could still stay calm!

Gu Tingshen also felt strange, so he simply followed Shen Suiwan into the room and asked her, “Wanwan, are you really not unhappy?”

He knew Shen Suiwan would not lose her temper with him, but he had thought she would surely be a little unhappy, since he had once promised her that he would not bring anyone home without her permission.

“No.” Shen Suiwan had her back to him, her expression cold.

“I knew Wanwan was the most sensible.” Gu Tingshen embraced her from behind, and his warm breath made Shen Suiwan’s body stiffen, though he did not notice it at all. “Wanwan, Xirou is my sister, which means she’s your sister too. And lately, I’ve been intending to cooperate with the Shen family of the capital, and Xirou has close ties with the Shen family…”

“What did you say?” Shen Suiwan cut him off. “Gu Xirou, and the Shen family of the capital?”

“Yes, while she was abroad she became acquainted with the Shen family, and the old Madam Shen is very fond of her.”

Shen Suiwan suddenly laughed out loud.

Gu Tingshen looked at her smile without understanding it, but he still went on explaining, “You should know that the Shen family of the capital is one of the four great families. With Xirou there, my cooperation can go much more smoothly.”

“All right.” Shen Suiwan smiled. “Then let me congratulate President Gu in advance on getting what he wants.”
