Late at night, Shen Suiwan had no desire to sleep.

Her mouth was dry, so she left her bedroom to pour a glass of water, but as she passed Gu Tingshen’s bedroom she found that the door was open a crack, with dim yellow light coming through from inside.

After hearing that phone call the night before, she had used feeling unwell as an excuse and moved to the guest room to sleep.Full novel: You Married Your White Moonlight, So Why Are You Going Crazy Now That I’m Getting Married? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

And at this moment, faint sounds were coming from Gu Tingshen’s bedroom.

Very suggestive ones.

Soon Gu Tingshen’s slightly panting voice came. “Rourou, stop making a fuss. This is my home.”

“What, are you afraid she’ll find out?” Gu Xirou’s voice was coquettish. “A-Tingshen, what are you afraid of? We’re the ones who registered and are legally husband and wife.”

“Rourou!” Gu Tingshen’s voice turned suddenly serious. “What was between us is already in the past.”

“A-Tingshen…”

“If it weren’t to help you get away from your abusive ex-husband, I would not have registered a marriage with you. Wanwan has been with me for five years. She is my girlfriend, and in the future she will be my real wife.

Once everything with you is settled, we’ll go and…”

The words broke off there, and the suggestive sounds came out again.

Shen Suiwan came back to herself and only then noticed that her hands were shaking badly.

A trace of derision passed through her eyes.

Gu Tingshen was a grown man nearly one meter ninety tall. If he did not want it, could Gu Xirou really force a kiss on him?

To help Gu Xirou get away from her abusive ex-husband, was registering a marriage really the only way?

This man and this woman clearly just wanted to carry on with each other, and they still had to find these high-sounding excuses!

“Brother Tingshen, don’t you miss how it felt when we were together? The pleasure I bring you is something Shen Suiwan simply cannot manage!”

“Rourou…” Gu Tingshen’s voice was badly hoarse, clearly stirred with desire.

Debauched sounds rose inside the room.

Shen Suiwan had already recorded their entire conversation on her phone. At this moment she only felt her stomach churning, and finally she could not help rushing into the bathroom, retching over and over at the sink.

So disgusting, so laughable.

Coming out of the bathroom, Shen Suiwan received a message from the client. There was a problem with the project, and she needed to make changes overnight.

She was already exhausted, but all she could do was force herself to work.

As she opened her computer, Shen Suiwan suddenly remembered how back then, when Gu Tingshen was running for president of the student union, she had run around canvassing votes for him, putting on countless smiles and pouring out endless effort.

Later he was duly elected, and she went on running around for him over matters big and small.

After graduating she joined his company and racked her brains for the sake of his career.

A dull ache in her stomach pulled Shen Suiwan out of her memories.

This was the last time.

And it was not for him either, only for the half a year of hard work she and her team members had put in.

Everything she had given over five years, the enormous pain of the car accident two years ago, the leg she had lost along with her dream of dancing, and the sounds of that man and woman carrying on flashed through her mind in turn.

Once she had looked into everything, she would make them pay the price.

Early morning.

When Shen Suiwan came out of her bedroom, she smelled the aroma of food.

She turned her head to look, and Gu Tingshen was in the kitchen frying eggs, with porridge cooking beside them.

Gu Xirou stood right in the kitchen doorway, watching him with a smile.

“Brother, after all these years, it’s still the breakfast you make with your own hands that suits my taste.”

“Go sit at the table and wait for me.”

As he spoke, Gu Tingshen turned to look back at Gu Xirou, but unintentionally met Shen Suiwan’s gaze.

“Wanwan.” He was as gentle as on every ordinary morning before. “Good morning.”

The corner of Shen Suiwan’s mouth curved into a self-mocking smile.

In three years together, he had never once cooked for her. Even when she drank until her stomach hurt to help him close a deal on a project, he had never made her a bowl of porridge, he would only have someone deliver food.

She had thought he was simply the sort of man who never lifted a finger in the kitchen.

It turned out she just was not worthy of it.
