Xia Ruohan didn’t understand, and she didn’t want to understand at all.
She bit her lower lip and stammered, “W-what do you want to do?”

As soon as she finished speaking, Jun Lin’s low chuckle echoed in the darkness. Though Xia Ruohan couldn’t see his expression, she could sense that he was in a good mood.
“Go to sleep.” He released his grip on her chin and pressed his warm lips against her forehead.
Caught off guard by the sudden kiss, Xia Ruohan froze.

That night, Xia Ruohan couldn’t sleep.

At dawn, all was quiet. A faint glow began to appear on the eastern horizon, and a ray of sunlight streamed into the room, casting a golden glow.
The young woman furrowed her brow slightly, shifted her position in the man’s arms, buried her face against his chest, and drifted back into slumber.
Jun Lin opened his eyes and saw the person in his arms; a faint smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. He reached for the remote control and drew the curtains, blocking out the intense light from outside.
The phone on the nightstand began to vibrate. Feeling Xia Ruohan stir, he patted her back gently, as if soothing a child.
When she settled down, he reached for the phone, glanced at the caller ID, and hung up.
He then rose quietly, stepped out of bed, slipped on his slippers, and left the room with the phone in hand, taking care not to wake the sleeping figure.
He dialed the number. Jun Lin’s voice was icy. “You’d better have something important to say.”
The person on the other end could naturally sense the chill in his tone and asked, “Did you just wake up?”
That didn’t make sense. This guy didn’t usually have a morning temper. Where did this sudden outburst come from?
“Try getting interrupted right as you’re going to bed.”
“……What do you mean?”
There was more to that than met the eye.
“Beep!”
Jun Lin hung up.
Feng Huaiyang: “???”
What on earth did Jun Lin mean?
He called back, but the phone was already turned off.
Thinking back on what Jun Lin had just said, he realized this was definitely not a simple matter.
Xia Ruohan didn’t have classes this morning, and Jun Lin didn’t want to wake her up, so he let her sleep until she woke up naturally.
After getting up and washing up, Xia Ruohan changed into some comfy clothes and walked downstairs, yawning as she brushed her hair.
Jun Lin had made breakfast and set it on the table. Seeing her come down, he called her over.
“Don’t you have to go to work?” Xia Ruohan asked as she sat down in a chair.
“No,” Jun Lin replied.
“Oh.”
Their conversation was brief. Xia Ruohan quietly sipped her porridge, saying nothing more.
When Feng Huaiyang arrived, he saw Jun Lin thoughtfully serving food onto Xia Ruohan’s plate and gently urging her to eat more.
The scene left Feng Huaiyang speechless. Tsk, is this really Young Master Jun?

Feng Huayang instantly sensed that something was amiss.
“Is this your place?” Jun Lin asked, his voice icy, upon seeing him.
Feng Huayang walked over and sat across from Xia Ruohan. “Why wouldn’t it be my place? Who is she, anyway? A child you’ve kidnapped?”
Startled by the remark, Xia Ruohan choked on her food.
“Cough, cough, cough.”
Jun Lin frowned, shot Feng Huaiyang a cold glance, and gently patted Xia Ruohan on the back to help her catch her breath.
Feng Huaiyang: “……”
