After riding in this inexpensive Maserati for a while, Jun Lin offered to let her drive it.

Xia Ruohan refused without a second thought.

“Don’t you like it?” Jun Lin asked, his expression darkening.Full novel: Young Master, your wife has gotten into trouble again — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Xia Ruohan flinched slightly and said, “No, no, it’s just that I don’t think my driving skills are good enough for such an expensive car. If I wreck it, I won’t have the money to pay for the repairs.”

She had developed a psychological aversion to luxury cars after her previous accident.

“You won’t have to pay for it.”

Inside, Xia Ruohan was sobbing silently.

She wanted to drive this Maserati too, but she was afraid she’d lose her eyesight one day and crash into someone.

Regardless of whether she wanted to or not, Jun Lin had already handed her the spare key and told her to drive it home after school.

Xia Ruohan: “……”

Could he not make things so difficult for her?

When she arrived in the classroom, Ruan Jinxi rushed over to her.

“Ruoruo, why didn’t you come to school this morning? You didn’t answer my calls either.”

“Huh? You called me?” Xia Ruohan pulled out her phone and checked her call log, but there was no call from Ruan Jinxi.

Ruan Jinxi showed her her own call log; there was a call made to Xia Ruohan at seven o’clock.

“I didn’t wake up until after eight. Maybe Jun Lin knew you’d called,” Xia Ruohan said.

“Jun Lin?” Ruan Jinxi’s face betrayed her shock. “Did you two sleep together?”

“No, no. We were just chatting under the covers.”

“Really? I thought you slept in so late today because of him.” Ruan Jinxi smiled teasingly, as if she were concerned for Xia Ruohan.

Xia Ruohan blushed and gave a small laugh, then found a seat and sat down.

Song Nan arrived shortly after, unceremoniously shoving Ruan Jinxi aside to sit right next to Xia Ruohan.

“Ruoruo, you’re not going to ditch me now that you have Song Nan, are you?” Ruan Jinxi rested her chin in her hands and asked Xia Ruohan.

Xia Ruohan immediately shook her head. “No.”

“Ruoruo, do you know how to sketch?” Song Nan tapped her arm, interrupting their conversation.

Xia Ruohan looked at her. “A little.”

“Then draw Jun for me?!”

Song Nan pulled up a photo on her phone—a rare shot of Jun Lin’s face taken by a paparazzi at a dinner party.

His obsidian-like pupils were deep, radiating an aloof and distant coldness, while his all-black suit made him seem even more unapproachable.

“Song Nan, Young Master Jun and Ruo Ruo got married just a couple of days ago. And you still want her to sketch him for you?” Ruan Jinxi reminded Song Nan, though she couldn’t hide the mockery in her voice.

Song Nan feigned a look of sudden realization and said to Xia Ruohan, “Ruo Ruo, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know you two… I’ll delete the photo right away. I promise I won’t have any improper thoughts about him.”

She emphasized the last four words heavily and shot a glance at Ruan Jinxi.

Song Nan’s lack of disappointment puzzled Ruan Jinxi. She opened her mouth, but the words she wanted to ask got stuck in her throat.

She couldn’t go around broadcasting the news that Xia Ruohan and Jun Lin were already married; that would only make Xia Ruohan’s glory too overwhelming.

“It’s fine,” Xia Ruohan said with a faint smile, not taking it to heart.

Because of that photo Song Nan had taken, Xia Ruohan found herself constantly distracted in class, thinking of Jun Lin—his words from last night, and the way he’d ruffled her hair.

The pen in her hand slowly shifted from taking notes to forming the characters for “Jun Lin.”

Song Nan happened to see this and, without hesitation, snapped a photo with her phone.

Admiring her candid shot, a smirk curled at the corners of her mouth. If Jun Lin didn’t pay her more, she’d kill him.

Ruan Jinxi didn’t miss her movement and frowned.

When Xia Ruohan finally realized what she’d done, she was startled by her own actions. Staring at the words on her notebook, she quickly wiped them away.

She glanced at Ruan Jinxi and Song Nan—neither of them had noticed her—and couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
