When classes ended, Xia Ruohan had planned to sneak out and get her car, but Ruan Jinxi and Song Nan kept following her, and she couldn’t shake them off.

“Wow! A M-M-M-Maserati?!” Song Nan looked utterly shocked, pointing at the car.

Xia Ruohan covered her mouth and said, “Keep your voice down.”Full novel: Young Master, your wife has gotten into trouble again — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Ruoruo, driving a Maserati isn’t exactly something to be ashamed of.” Ruan Jinxi rested her hand on the hood, a flash of jealousy in her eyes.

Xia Ruohan gave a nervous laugh and said, “I’m just a poor student—where would I get the money to drive a Maserati?”

This would just invite people to speculate.

Song Nan shook her head. “Not necessarily. Ruoruo, your paintings are so amazing, and you’re Professor Yuan’s student. If you sold one, you could easily get over a hundred thousand.”

Xia Ruohan glanced at her. “Are you sure?”

Over a hundred thousand for just one of her paintings?

“Absolutely certain.” Song Nan gave her an encouraging look.

Xia Ruohan continued to chuckle nervously when her phone in her pocket rang.

Seeing the contact labeled “Jun Lin,” Xia Ruohan was taken aback. She didn’t recall saving his number—how did it end up here?

But she didn’t dare dwell on it and quickly answered the call.

“Not back yet?” Jun Lin’s deep voice reached her ears, and Xia Ruohan’s heart skipped a beat.

“Almost, almost. I’ll be back soon.”

“Be careful.”

“Okay.”

Ruan Jinxi asked Xia Ruohan to drive her home, and Xia Ruohan didn’t refuse; she let her get in the car.

Song Nan: “……”

She really wanted to see if Xia Ruohan had shit for brains.

She could have left by now and gone out to have some fun for a few hours, but because of Ruan Jinxi’s little drama, she had to stay busy again.

Xia Ruohan drove very cautiously, taking her sweet time to drop Ruan Jinxi off at home. Song Nan had no intention of going to Jun Lin’s place with her, so she made up an excuse to get out halfway and called Jun Lin.

“Hey, Xia Ruohan really does have a screw loose.”

“Say that again.” Jun Lin’s icy voice rang in her ear.

Song Nan: “…I just think Xia Ruohan’s IQ is a bit lacking.”

“She’s naive.”

Naive—in short, dumb.

“No, I just don’t get it. How could she not see through Ruan Jinxi’s ‘holy innocent’ act? Even if I saw a white lotus for the first time, I could slap her so hard her own mother wouldn’t recognize her. Why doesn’t Xia Ruohan just open her eyes and see the truth?”

Song Nan was truly at a loss with Xia Ruohan. If it weren’t for Jun Lin paying her to come to D University to “protect” Xia Ruohan, she wouldn’t have bothered with this nonsense.

Was Jun Lin’s idea of “protection” just to chase everyone away from Xia Ruohan? Then why not just kick Ruan Jinxi out directly? Why go through all this trouble?

“Why are you rambling on so much?” Jun Lin’s voice was still icy.

Song Nan just wanted to vent a little. She didn’t have many people she could actually talk to, so she ended up taking it out on Jun Lin.

“Jun Lin, I really think you’re…”

“Beep!”

Song Nan: “……”

Fine, for the sake of the money, she’d let it slide.

As soon as Xia Ruohan walked in the door, she caught the aroma of food. Jun Lin, acting like a stay-at-home husband, had cooked dinner and was waiting for her to come home.

As they sat down to eat, Xia Ruohan casually tried to strike up a conversation.

“It really lives up to its reputation as a Maserati—it drives so smoothly.”

“If you like it, drive it to school.” Jun Lin had been planning to give Xia Ruohan a car anyway, but he was a bit worried about her driving skills. “I’ll go with you to practice driving when you have time.”

“Practice driving?”

“Yeah.”

“I’ve had my license for less than a year…”

Only a year, and she needs to practice again?

Jun Lin glanced at her but said nothing.

Xia Ruohan: “……”

She knew exactly what that look meant.

If she were a good driver, she wouldn’t have crashed into him.
