Despite hearing the commanders words, Anne could not quell the deep feelings welling inside of her stomach.
Everything about the world she knew had been stolen in what she could only describe as an instant.
She met one of her sons few friends, heard possibly the loudest thunder booms of her entire life, and the next thing she knew the world as she knew it was no more.
Her heart rate and temperature continued to rise as her body began to involuntarily shake.
“Analysis complete, Integration complete, beginning amplification.” Sounded in the room as her ring lit up.
She was sitting with her eyes closed and her fist tightly shut, as ripples could be seen in the air around her like heatwaves distorting the view of her from all angles.
Not only Ethan and Jason, but also Lucile could feel the violent waves of energy coming off of her not allowing them to move a muscle as they could feel their thoughts slow down and their heartbeat somehow become restricted.
With each second the air and aura around her intensified to the point that it began to completely distort the view of the room.
“Oh my…
Ace.” Commander Valia said her voice almost trembling, as she unconsciously took a step backwards feeling as this energy was almost intense enough to suppress even herself.
“This team just keeps getting more and more exciting…” Ace said as he stood from leaning on the wall before instantly appearing next to Anne, he moved his hand swiftly and precisely hitting Anne in the back of the head just hard enough to make her brain rattle in a way that knocked her out, “And like that another supreme is born in our organization, just wait til I tell the guys from the sky.” Ace said with a smile as he caught the now unconscious Anne and tossed her over his shoulder before disappearing from where he was standing.
Once she had been knocked out the rest of the team let out a loud gasp of air as they began to catch their breath from involuntarily not breathing.
Ethan, Jason, and Lucile had all began sweating profusely as they heartbeats erratically began to regain normalcy wile the headache that ensued was close to one of the most intense pains they had ever experienced.
“You all need to focus on calming down, control your breathing feel the flow of energy in your bodies and control it.
People that can access levels of power like that number easily in the one in one hundred million range especially as someone who hasn’t spent at least a single lifetime specifically training their own internal energy and practiced externalizing it to that extent…” The commander said as she continued to stare at where Anne was seated her voice trailing off towards the end before swiping her hand down to analyze the data analytics of her integration and amplification.
As she looked at the data analytics, her facial expression went from surprised and distraught to excitement as her smile slowly grew brighter and her eyes began to light up like shining diamonds.
Soom all of the glass walls in the facility also started to brighten and glow like diamonds as Ace casually walked back into the room with Jack and Amanda following behind.
“What’s happening to the building?” Jack asked as he looked all around himself at the shimmering glass walls that looked like thin sheets of water had began to cover them reflecting and refracting light in all directions.
“This is how the commander uses her ability, she’s able to integrate her mind into objects and gain a nearly complete and whole understanding of all the potentialities they have and actualize those potentials into the real world.” Ace responded as he also looked around at the shimmering walls his own eyes shining with excitement not expecting to actually see the commander use her ability on the entire facility.
The light faded after a minute or two from the commanders eyes and the different surfaces of the facility, this time rather than clear glass the walls now revealed an almost crystalline structure that seemed to hold an impossible number of reflections to count in any direction you looked at it from as each matrix seemed to reflect the next “A system upgrade?
Reawakening time?
Ace asked his voice holding what seemed to be a childlike excitement as he looked towards the commander.
“Exactly that…
I honestly don’t understand what her ability is yet you may have gotten a better on read on it than me despite seeking the information, but I do know on a surface level she should be able to help rebuild the veil that kept humanity safe and blind from the other dimensions we live nested inside of.” The commander said glancing at Ace and his team before looking back to the holographic screen in front of her.
“She could probably do a lot more than that honestly, when I got close to her it was like not just space but reality itself and its laws were being bent…
I just hope she’s smart enough to know how dangerous the power she holds is…
because if not you know what they will want to do with her..” Ace said in a grim tone as he looked from the commander to Jack and Ethan sullenly.
“What will they want to do?” Jack asked listening carefully to what they were saying about his wife.
“Honestly, they will want to terminate her, but that’s only a worst case scenario.
She would have to do something drastic like using her power to force her will onto reality, and even outside of our organization if she were to do something like that there would be people and things that you have never heard of after her life and anything connected to it.” Ace said in a serious tone.
“She wouldn’t do anything like that, all she’s ever wanted was a happy family, and to see the people she loves reach their highest potential!” Jack said somewhat defensively disturbed by the thought of someone wanting to terminate his wife.
“Like I said that’s only a worse case scenario.
She will probably have to contract with someone on a higher plane like I did.” Ace said not going further realizing how much paperwork and documentation the big wigs would want regarding his team now that someone with potential beyond a supreme level had been awakened under his wing.
Just as Jack was preparing to ask another question Ethan’s ring lit up, “Analysis completed, now initializing integration procedures.” A voice almost identical to the commanders sounded in the room.
“I was able to integrate a portion of my consciousness into the facility allowing it to function almost fully autonomously now.” She said as she felt aces gaze move onto her in a questioning manner.
As for Jason, Lucile, and Ethan the pain and discomfort slowly subsided as they heeded the commanders words taking control of the flow of energy within themselves.
As Ethan did this the world around him seemed to move slower and slower with each passing moment.
The conversations around him sounded as though the tempo was slowly being dragged through the air.
“Eeeeeeeeettttthhhhhhhaaaaaaaannnnnnnn, yyyyyooooooouuuuuurrrrrrr’eeeeeee uuuuuuuppppppppppp.” He heard as he looked up towards where the commander was who seemed to be waving her hand extremely slowly for him to come towards her.
This experience alone was entirely disorienting as Ethan himself felt like he was bordering multiple realities.
He stood up, but his body was heavy and sluggish.
He exerted himself as strongly as possibly to stand up as he felt the micromovement of every muscle fiber as he moved causing him to jump off the ground slightly to his feet.
From the view of everyone else present Ethan had simply jumped to his feet, but for Ethan it felt as though gravity had become at the very least triple what it should have been, the time kept moving slower and each movement felt more exaggerated than the last as he quickly became exhausted before collapsing onto the ground drenched in sweat unable to move an inch, “Integration complete, beginning amplification process.” The voice similar to the commanders sounded again.
For the collapsed Ethan on the ground the world stood still and all he could hear was the continuous hum of a single letter in an entire word being said.
Everyone seemed to be frozen in place as he rolled his eyes here and there to see the people in the room as he wondered intently just what was going on and what kind of awakening he was experiencing.
After what felt like minutes listening to the humming, Jason began to lose track of time after what seemed like hours had passed from his perspective before eventually passing out entirely from the exhaustion of trying to move his body.
