The mansion felt even more desolate, Avielle rushed up the stairs, ignoring memories of the life they were beginning to build together flashing right before her everywhere she went.

Unbearable pain consumed her at the love she was leaving behind but she refused to let him continue breaking her from within.

Nor would she let him hurt the life growing inside her.Full novel: Alpha’s Regret: Rise Of The Ugly Luna — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

These babies were hers now, though his too but he no longer deserved them.

She grabbed her suitcases, stuffing them with anything she touched that belonged to her.

She needed to get out of here fast.

After leaving a short goodbye note for Daisy on the fridge, thanking her for being a wonderful person and one of the only people to truly see her as the Luna, she sat down in the living room with the divorce agreement on her lap, trying to stop the oncoming tears.

The silence in the house embraced her so completely as she signed the papers with trembling hands and closed the file, mentally shutting this chapter of her life along with it.

She placed her wedding ring on the file and dragged out her suitcase only to almost bump into someone at the entrance.

“Avie!” Her friend squealed out her name excitedly strutting into the house.

Avielle hadn’t seen Nelly in months that now the sight of her in all her overly bright clothing and happy smiles made her break down in tears she had been suppressing.

“Hey, are you that emotional to see me that you…” Her words halted when she realized that Avielle’s tears were real, “Oh my god, what happened and where are you going?” Nelly pulled her in a hug, then made her sit down so they could talk about it, for some reason, Avielle felt some relief to tell someone about everything she had kept stuffed up in her heart since last night.

“I can’t believe this, I was so sure that Alpha Kyrian has completely forgotten about Claire ever since you came into his life.” Avielle shook her head, “It was all an illusion, Kyrian was never mine.” “What about your pregnancy?

You’re carrying his child!” “He has Claire now, and I saw the way he was with her.

If he knows, he’s going to take my babies from me.” “Babies?” “I’m having twins, Nelly.” She said with a bittersweet smile, caressing her stomach.

Nelly wanted to be happy for her friend, she knew this was what Avielle had always wanted.

A beautiful love with the man she had loved for a long time, and a life with him.

“You’re right, he will definitely take his heir from you.

And even if he isn’t heartless enough to separate a mother from her kids, he’s going to keep you here miserable while letting you watch him be with his other woman.

Has he rejected you?” Avielle shook her head, “Not yet, he wants to move in with Claire soon, he’ll do it before then.” “He is such a bastard, kicking you out just because he wants to finally being back his other woman?” Avielle scoffed self deprecatingly, “He said I never had a place in his life.

How could I have believed he could fall in love with me when I’m so…” She touched her scar painfully.

The word ugly was something she heard all the time from people’s quiet whispers, and it lingered at the tip of her own tongue now.

She had learned to live with her scar, learned to accept it, but everyone who treated her differently constantly reminded her that no one would love her unconditionally when she looked this way.

“No, it’s not because of your scar, if he doesn’t love you for the strong, wonderful woman you are then he doesn’t deserve you.

And as for your scar, I’ve found a way to clear it, for good.” Avielle looked up sharply, “Really?” “Why else did you think I’d been gone to live in the mountains for so long?” Nelly was a half werewolf and half witch but not many people knew that besides Avielle.

She had always hated her witch powers and never used them, but for her best friend, she had gone to the mountains to hone her powers amongst other witches just so she could get rid of Avielle’s scar.

Avielle didn’t know what to say, she felt so touched by what Nelly had done for her.

They had been the best of friends since childhood, even far before Avielle got scarred.

Nelly had been the only constant in her life since then.

Nelly took Avielle’s hands in her own, “You’re a very beautiful soul Avie, many people don’t seem to know that, and if they’re going to judge you by your looks, then it’s time to show them that you can shine like a star.” When they drove out of the Alpha’s mansion, Avielle tried not to look back.

She dozed off in the car at some point, getting back the sleep she hadn’t been able to get last night.

When she woke up, the car had stopped, the blanket Nelly must have used to cover her up slid down as she sat up straight.

They were outside a crowded apartment complex in Blue Corner district.

“Where are we?” “My place.” Nelly said unbuckling her seatbelt, “Come on in.” Nelly’s home was warm and feminine, it wasn’t exactly huge or spacious, but it was just enough for one person.

Avielle had no choice but to eat even though she had no appetite when Nelly forced food on her, stressing the fact that she had to fill herself up to be strong enough for her own children.

“I want to move away from here.” Avielle suddenly announced after the meal.

“What?

But where do you plan to go?” “I don’t know, just…

anywhere far away from here.

I’m still in Kyrian’s territory and he has eyes and ears everywhere, soon he’s going to know that I’m carrying his children.” Nelly gave a nod, “That makes sense, I’ll come with you then.” “No, I’ll need you to stay here to be my eyes and ears on whatever happens after I’m gone.” Nelly wanted to protest, she would miss Avielle so much, but she was right.

Avielle wouldn’t know anything going on here if she left with her, Nelly worked closely with the alpha’s team, if Kyrian got even close to discovering her pregnancy, Nelly would alert her first.

Some hours later, after Nelly had left Avielle alone to rest in the bedroom, she pulled out her phone and dialled Kyrian’s number.

He picked up after the first ring, “Hello?” “I called to let you know that I’ve signed the divorce papers and I have left your house.” She said trying to keep her voice steady.

“Good.

Meet me at my office, 10 AM tomorrow so we can get the rejection over with.” He said the words like it was nothing but a business transaction and she felt another broken piece of her heart chip away.

“Alright.” She said, unable to trust her voice if she said something else.

She wanted to ask him why?

Was this really the end?

She never felt like she deserved him, but he’d made her feel like…

“Kyrian, I’m about to take a shower now, do you want to come?” Avielle stiffened immediately she heard the familiar voice over the phone, her heartbeat itself stopped as well.

For a tiny moment, she had hoped he might have regretted it, that somewhere deep inside he might just change his mind, but it was all just a dream in her head.

Not waiting to hear his reply she hung up, tears sliding down her face, she closed her eyes painfully.

‘He never wanted you Avielle.

He never did.’
