Song Xingci lowered his head and looked at the woman in his arms, a warm feeling rising in his heart.

Chuman was so considerate and understanding.

She never made things difficult for him, and she would never embarrass him in front of others.Full novel: Apocalypse Side Character: Her Devoted Bodyguard Turns Out to Be the Zombie Emperor — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Then he looked at Wen Chu.

Spoiled, willful, unreasonable, with the temper of a pampered young lady.

He took a deep breath as though he were making some enormous sacrifice, then gritted his teeth and forced out a sentence.

“Sorry.”

The two words came out through clenched teeth, stiff and forced, with unwillingness in every syllable.

Wen Chu tilted her head and looked at him with a bright smile.

“Keep going.”

Song Xingci’s temple throbbed violently. His fists clenched and loosened at his sides.

“Sorry… I should not have spoken like that just now.”

Wen Chu looked at him for two seconds before her eyes curved into a smile.

The smile was bright and innocent, like a cat that had just stolen a fish. Her eyes curved beautifully, making people want to get angry while being unable to find a reason to do so.

“For the sake of the fact that we grew up together.”

She opened the front passenger door and hopped inside lightly. Her voice floated out from within the vehicle.

“Get in.”

Song Xingci climbed into the vehicle with a dark expression.

Shen Chuman quickly followed him inside and quietly comforted him.

Before He Beichuan closed the door, he glanced back at the empty parking garage and muttered, “My limited edition sports car. If only I had a space ability too…”

Shen Chuman heard him and was just about to say something when Song Xingci shook his head.

“Beichuan, Chuman’s space needs to be used to collect important supplies. There is no need to waste space on sports cars.”

Beichuan still looked reluctant to let go of his car. After all, he had waited almost half a year before finally getting that sports car.

“What a pity…”

Song Shiyu leaned back against his seat and closed his eyes to rest.

“You really are hopeless. What is there to regret? When we get back to Jing City, I will give you my car. Hurry up and go!”

He was a doctor and did not participate in the Song family’s business.

However, he had an excellent eye for investments and had plenty of money. A sports car was nothing particularly important to him.

The vehicle doors closed with a dull thud.

The engine of the business vehicle gave a low growl before slowly driving out of the underground parking garage.

During the final second before the vehicle reached the slope, Wen Chu closed her eyes.

Her invisible mental power instantly spread outward.

Dust particles were the smallest messengers in the world. They floated through the air, penetrating everywhere while remaining unnoticed.

Wen Chu attached her mental power to every particle of dust. Countless strands spread out from her body, weaving together like a spider creating its web, densely covering the entire underground parking garage.

Then she gave a gentle pull.

The countless strands of dust moved at the same time.

Almost half the vehicles in the parking garage disappeared into thin air without disturbing even a single particle of dust.

She even left a strand of mental power moving above the ground, spreading like a tide throughout the entire building.

The hotel’s presidential suites, mattresses, beds, sofas…

Tea houses, tables, chairs, tea sets, tea leaves…

Clubs, sofas, coffee tables, mahjong machines…

There were also bars, gyms, and other places.

With a single thought, everything was collected into her space.

After finishing all of this, Wen Chu opened her eyes and calmly looked out the vehicle window.

“Little sister Wen Chu.”

Shen Chuman’s gentle voice came from behind her.

“Are you hungry? I have quite a lot of food in my space. What would you like to eat?”

Wen Chu turned around and saw Shen Chuman smiling at her. The smile was polite and harmless, without a single flaw.

“I am not hungry.”

Wen Chu smiled as well, though there was no warmth behind it.

“And I am an only child. I do not have an older sister.”

Shen Chuman was caught off guard, and the smile on her face almost collapsed.

Beichuan rubbed the goosebumps on his arms and quietly muttered, “Why do I suddenly feel a little cold…”

Fan Jingshen snorted coldly.

Shen Chuman handed bread to Song Shiyu and the others again, but everyone said they were not hungry.

Shen Chuman bit her lip, looking pitiful.

She leaned against Song Xingci’s shoulder.

“Everyone seems to dislike me. Is it because I used to be a waitress?”

Song Xingci casually comforted her.

“Do not think too much about it. Everyone is just not hungry.”

The business vehicle finally drove out of the underground parking garage and onto the slope, and sunlight came crashing down upon them.

Then everyone fell silent.

The street was filled with wrecked vehicles parked at all sorts of angles, some of them still smoking.

Shattered glass covered the entire road, sparkling under the sunlight.

There was blood everywhere.

Dark red blood, partially dried blood, splattered blood, all forming pools and stains across the asphalt.

And those people…

They staggered forward with twisted limbs. Some were missing half the flesh from their faces. Some had their arms bent backward at impossible angles, yet they were still walking.

A female zombie wearing a professional skirt suit was crouched over a corpse, her teeth deeply embedded in the other person’s neck.

When she heard the sound of the vehicle engine, she suddenly raised her head.

Half of her face had already rotted away. Her eye socket was empty, while the remaining eye stared straight at them.

Then she opened her mouth.

“Grrrr!”

The hoarse howl tore through the air.

Every zombie on the entire street turned its head at the same time.

Beichuan swallowed hard, his voice trembling.

“Qin Yu, can you drive faster…”

Qin Yu stepped on the accelerator without changing his expression.

The business vehicle released a deep roar, like a steel beast awakening, and charged straight toward the horde of zombies.

Wen Chu tightened her grip on the seat belt, her heart pounding like a drum.

This was exciting.

It was much more thrilling than playing zombie games.

There was no saving the game and no coming back to life. If you got hit, you got hit.

She looked back at the rear seats.

Song Xingci was protecting Shen Chuman securely in his arms. One hand shielded her head while the other wrapped around her waist.

Shen Chuman had buried her entire face against his chest, her eyes closed as she trembled. There even seemed to be a trace of moisture on her long eyelashes.

The scene was touching and deeply affectionate.

Wen Chu silently turned her head back.

The business vehicle suddenly shook violently.

It had hit two zombies blocking the road and sent them flying.

One of them rolled through the air and slammed into the roadside railing before sliding down onto the ground, never getting back up.

Beichuan let out a cry.

“Qin Yu, slow down! I am going to throw up my breakfast!”

Song Shiyu sneered.

“If I drive slowly and the zombies catch up, are you going to get out and kill them?”

“That is not impossible!”

Beichuan covered his mouth and shouted indistinctly.

“Maybe I will awaken a supernatural ability!”

“Do you think supernatural abilities are cabbages? You get one whenever you want?”

“What if I do? I have always been lucky!”

Wen Chu could not hold back and burst out laughing.

Outside the vehicle window, zombies were repeatedly sent flying. Some rolled into roadside shops, while others became caught on the side mirrors before being dragged along for a distance and finally thrown off.

The business vehicle continued charging forward without looking back, its tires rolling over shattered debris and blood covering the road and producing dull, heavy sounds.

The most prosperous streets of Han City gradually disappeared behind them.

But Wen Chu did not stop.

Her mental power was spreading constantly.

Dust particles were her best little companions. Silently and without attracting any attention, they spread along both sides of the streets.

Pharmacies, outdoor supply stores, hot pot restaurants, clothing stores, sports brand stores…

She did not spare a single store without living people inside.

As long as dust could get inside, her mental power could follow. With one sweep and one pull, the supplies inside were instantly emptied.

The city center was filled with wandering zombies. Song Shiyu and the others were all ordinary people, so they simply did not dare get out to collect supplies.

As for the male lead, his thoughts were focused on the factories in the suburbs, so he did not care about these scattered shops.

But Wen Chu was not picky.

Even mosquito legs were still meat.

They even passed two automobile dealerships, and Wen Chu collected every vehicle inside without exception.

Since she had collected the vehicles, gasoline was naturally essential too.

Collect, collect, collect!

Just as Wen Chu was having the time of her life collecting everything, the road ahead suddenly became completely blocked.
