After signing the contract, and after interacting for a while, Xia Sisi felt that this agent was quite reliable. She began to consider asking him to help sell her house.
“Set the price one million below market value. I only have one requirement—sell it fast!”
Xia Sisi said seriously to the agent.
The agent’s eyes instantly lit up.
“Miss, you should know that homes in your neighborhood are hot listings. Normally, as soon as they go online, buyers start asking about them. And if you’re pricing it that much lower…”
As he spoke, he rubbed his hands together, eyes full of anticipation.
“Give me a moment—I’ll go discuss this with my boss.”
While the agent stepped aside to make the call, Xia Sisi quickly headed downstairs.
Dahei was still in the car. It had been two hours—who knew how he was doing?
Unexpectedly, as soon as she reached the ground floor, she saw a crowd gathered around her car, taking photos through the windows!
A cold sweat broke out on Xia Sisi’s back as she hurried over.
Among the crowd, a young man was pointing his phone at Dahei—he was livestreaming!
He kept tapping on the car window, trying to get Dahei’s attention.
From Xia Sisi’s angle, she could see Dahei baring his teeth at the window, his muscles tense. He was furious—but holding himself back.
Xia Sisi’s anger flared instantly.
“What are you doing?!”
She rushed over and snatched the man’s phone.
The young man, with dyed yellow hair, bristled at her actions.
“Do you even know you’re raising a banned breed? What’s wrong—scared now? Don’t want people filming?”
He grabbed his phone back and raised his voice, loudly telling the surrounding crowd that Dahei was an illegal breed. He even threatened to call the police to have the dog taken away.
More people gathered, peering into the car. They saw Dahei standing inside, nearly filling the entire backseat.
“Wow, that dog is huge! How can someone keep a dog like that in the city? What if it bites someone?”
The yellow-haired man looked smug, speaking crudely.
“It’s my dog—none of your business! And you’re livestreaming for attention? Twisting the truth?”
As Xia Sisi stepped forward to argue, the man suddenly shoved her!
Caught off guard, she lost her balance and fell to the ground, furious.
She had tried to avoid trouble since Dahei was in the car, but this man was going too far!
Just as she was about to get up and confront him, she heard a click.
Her car had an automatic unlock system—when she approached within about a meter with the key, it unlocked.
Xia Sisi froze for a moment, not yet reacting, when suddenly a black shadow leapt out from the backseat—
It was Dahei!
He lunged forward and knocked the yellow-haired man to the ground.
The man screamed, but it was useless.
After pinning him down, Dahei began jumping back and forth on him, preventing him from getting up.
The onlookers were stunned and instinctively backed away several meters.
Xia Sisi got up and watched Dahei—snarling and jumping while keeping the man pinned—and felt something indescribable in her chest.
Was he… protecting her?
“What’s going on here?”
Suddenly, a stern voice came from behind the crowd.
A police officer walked over.
The yellow-haired man lay on the ground, pale-faced, trembling. A suspicious liquid had pooled beneath him, and a foul smell filled the air.
He had actually wet himself from fear!
“Officer! Officer, please save me! Th-this dog is going to eat me! She’s raising a banned breed—help me!”
Xia Sisi hadn’t expected Dahei to act like this, nor that he could even open the car door. She felt a bit awkward.
She stepped forward and grabbed Dahei’s leash.
“Dahei, come here.”
Dahei obediently returned to her side and sat close to her. But his large eyes remained fixed on the man, baring his sharp teeth in warning.
“This is a police dog, right? Retired?”
The officer looked at Xia Sisi and asked.
She immediately nodded and took out the relevant documents from her car.
She knew bringing Dahei out would attract attention, so she always carried his identification.
“I could tell when I saw him pin the man down and keep jumping around him. That’s a tactic used by military dogs—to keep suspects from getting up until officers arrive.”
The officer smiled as he took the documents.
“We have a police dog at our station too—very smart.”
After checking Dahei’s papers, he returned them and then turned a sharp gaze toward the yellow-haired man.
“So—what did you do to make a trained dog react like that?”
At that moment, the crowd, like a wall of reeds swaying in the wind, began speaking up for Xia Sisi.
They explained how the man had falsely accused her dog, pushed her down, and that the dog had acted to protect its owner.
The man hadn’t expected things to turn out like this, but he still refused to back down.
“Even if it’s a retired dog, it’s too big for the city! What if it bites someone? I’m just doing a good deed—teaching you a lesson!”
He stubbornly argued.
The officer’s frown deepened.
Dahei stood beside Xia Sisi, staring at the man, as if ready to pounce again at her command.
“Is this dog… called Dahei?”
Suddenly, a timid voice came from the crowd.
Xia Sisi turned and saw a young woman, about twenty years old.
“Yes—do you know him?”
The girl’s eyes lit up instantly.
She stepped out of the crowd and slowly approached Dahei.
Sensing her goodwill, Dahei didn’t move, simply watching her.
Gradually, she reached out and touched his head.
Though he didn’t seem particularly willing, he didn’t avoid her. After a brief touch, he stood up and moved behind Xia Sisi.
Like a shy child reluctant to interact with others.
Even that brief contact made the girl thrilled.
“I actually got to touch a meritorious dog! This is Dahei—the one who fought criminals in S City not long ago and saved an entire team! Didn’t you all see the news?”
She turned and said excitedly to everyone.
At that moment, the police officer also realized it.
“No wonder the name sounded familiar! So it’s that dog from the news… He’s already retired?”
