“Of course.
You can call me Felix.” Felix sat at the edge of the table, picked up a trimmed cigar, and took a deep drag.
“So this is that bastard Silco’s idea?” Baron Finn, with his punk-mohawk haircut, said angrily.
Bang!
A gunshot rang out.
A bullet grazed past his head.
“Hmm.
I think you should be grateful that Silco once saved you.
You should also understand the situation you’re in right now.” Felix tilted his head and looked at him.
“All right, all right.
Let’s continue the topic from earlier.
Piltover’s control over us has become even stricter, so we should prepare the appropriate countermeasures.” Felix thought for a moment, then continued, “How about this?
Each of you pays one thousand gold coins.
We’ll help you reorganize the Lanes and take care of Piltover.” “What?!
One thousand gold coins?
You’re dreaming!” the short baron beside Finn shouted in a shrill voice.
“That screech of yours reminds me of a greedy little goblin.” Felix looked at him with nothing but coldness in his eyes.
Jinx had already been itching to act for a while.
The moment she saw Felix signal her with his eyes, the barrel of her gun began spinning.
“Hey, hey, hey.
Look at you, why are you so impulsive?” Felix patted Jinx on the shoulder and scolded her on the surface.
“Now then, does anyone else object to my proposal?” Everyone in the council fell silent.
Nobody wanted to be the first one to stick their neck out.
Felix clapped his hands.
“Wonderful.
Since none of you have any objections, I’ll take that as agreement.
In that case, you can have your people bring the money over.
I’ll give you thirty minutes.” As he spoke, Felix took a huge timed bomb out of his bag.
The display clearly showed the time.
29:59.
The timed bomb ticked away.
“Oh, right.
Don’t think about having too many men come in.
This council hall is too small.
Otherwise, I can’t guarantee whether that timer will stay accurate.” Felix spoke while he and Jinx tied everyone up.
Facing Jinx and Felix, this group of high-ranking council members had no power to resist.
As time passed, Baron Renni was the first to buckle under the pressure and have her subordinates bring money to ransom her.
Once one person paid, it set off a chain reaction.
The others all started calling their men to bring money too.
One thousand gold coins was a lot.
For them, it was enough to hurt badly, and it might take half a year to squeeze that money back out of the people of the Undercity.
But how could money matter more than their lives?
Finally, when the timer reached 13:53, Renni’s men delivered the money.
Felix accepted it, then told her subordinates to get lost, but he did not release Renni.
As the money arrived one batch after another, Felix counted the coin pouches with satisfaction.
More than a thousand gold coins filled Felix’s backpack to the brim.
“Hey, we gave you the gold coins.
You should let us go now.” “Of course.
We’ll take care of the mess in the Undercity.” Felix stood up and walked to the door.
He removed his hat and bowed elegantly.
“I look forward to our next meeting.” Then he left the meeting room with Jinx.
Behind him were the barons’ curses.
Ahead of him was Zaun’s bright future.
00:01.
00:00.
Boom!
“Bang!
Is it really okay to kill them all like that?
Silco said not to kill all of them.” Jinx imitated the sound of the explosion as she asked, even though she was the one who had made the bomb.
“Sometimes it takes a hard hand to do the merciful thing.” Felix looked straight ahead as he spoke.
“Silco has more concerns than we do, but sometimes there’s no need to worry about that much.” “So where are we going now?
To see Silco?” “No.
He’s angry right now, and I don’t feel like getting yelled at.
Come on, let’s go meet your old friend.” Felix looked deeply at Jinx.
Jinx did not say anything.
She only lowered her head.
Felix took her hand.
“It’s fine.
If you don’t want to see him, forget it.
I can go by myself.” Jinx looked at Felix.
“Powder is dead!” Her tone was serious and stubborn.
Felix knocked on the door of Benzo’s shop.
“Hey, Benzo, you here?” As he spoke, he pushed the door open and walked in.
Over the past few days, Benzo had been run ragged by the mess in the Lanes.
He did not have Vander’s leadership, nor did he have enough nerve.
As far as the Lanes were concerned, he was not qualified to be a leader.
When he saw Felix walk in, he closed the distance in a few steps and grabbed Felix by the collar.
“Did you kill Vander?” Before Felix could speak, Jinx had already pressed the butt of her gun against Benzo’s jaw.
“Take your dirty hands off him, Benzo.” Benzo stared at Powder, whose hair had grown a little longer, and fell into a daze.
“Powder, why are you mixed up with these people?” “Powder is dead!
I’m Jinx!
Jinx!” Benzo’s words seemed to drag Jinx into some unpleasant memories, and she snapped irritably.
Felix stroked Jinx’s head.
Jinx trembled, then slowly calmed down.
Only no one noticed that in the partitioned room of the shop, Ekko was peeking through a spyglass, and his face was filled with shock when he saw Powder standing beside Felix.
“Vander is already dead.
What we need to do now is settle the chaos in the Lanes.
You’re not going to make me save you once and then kill you afterward, are you?” Felix said to Benzo unhurriedly.
“We can help you.
The Lanes must calm down.
We can help you, Benzo.
Vander had already agreed to work with us and fight Piltover together.
There was just a small accident.” “What about the other kids?” Benzo asked.
“Unfortunately, that explosion was serious.” Felix spread his hands and spoke helplessly.
“But that’s only your side of the story.
Vander is dead now.
Whether it’s black or white, you get to decide.” Benzo’s tone was full of hostility.
“I’ve already given you a chance.
Don’t force us to reshuffle all of Zaun.
The Chem-Barons of upper Zaun are all dead now.
Guess whether you’ll be the next one.” Felix was losing patience.
Only after Benzo stopped speaking did Felix continue, “I’ll have Sevika help you.
I’m giving you one week to calm the Lanes down.
I’ll make the Enforcers from up top get out of Zaun.” After saying that, he left Benzo’s shop with Jinx and walked toward home.
It was just a pity that he never saw Ekko.
After all, Ekko had a crush on Powder when they were kids.
Maybe Jinx knew Ekko was in some corner, holding a spyglass and looking at the person she had become.
