Vi 20: Chapter 20: Felix vs.
Vi Zaun, the Lanes.
Felix had studied the Hextech crystals for an entire night, but he still could not stabilize them.
With no results from the experiment, he stood helplessly and left the laboratory.
Although he had researched all night, he did not feel the slightest bit sleepy.
After casually eating some breakfast, he walked to Silco’s office.
“How’s the situation?” Felix asked while yawning, then sat down across from Silco.
“The upper city hasn’t made a response yet.” As Silco spoke, he used a syringe to drip a drop of Shimmer into his left eye.
“They’ll lose patience eventually.
Either they fight, or they compromise.” Felix was not surprised.
The upper city’s slow reaction speed had been within expectations.
“Vi is back,” Silco said, his tone heavy.
“Vi?
She’s still alive?” Felix was somewhat surprised.
Back then, he had helped Jinx search for Vi, but there had been no news of her.
“Not just Vi.
There’s also an enforcer from the upper city.
They turned the Last Drop upside down.” Silco looked at the graffiti Jinx had left on the table and spoke slowly.
“Jinx won’t leave.” “But Powder will!
Jinx is better suited to surviving in Zaun than Powder.
I only want her to live better.” After two years together, Silco had seen his own shadow in Jinx.
Isolation, obsession, and madness.
Most importantly, both of them had been betrayed by someone they trusted.
Felix looked at the things on Silco’s desk, the tabletop covered in Jinx’s graffiti, the graffitied ashtray, and the little doll Jinx had woven.
“What do you want to do?” Felix fiddled with his fingers.
“Kill her before Jinx comes back,” Silco said, his face cold.
“She’ll go insane if she finds out, Silco,” Felix said seriously.
“I won’t let her find out.
I’ll go myself this time.” “I’ll go with you.” Zaun, the lowest level.
Vi and Caitlyn had gathered some information in the lower city, then Vi went back to the Last Drop while Caitlyn was not paying attention.
The injuries Vi had suffered in prison had not healed to begin with.
This trip to the bar did successfully disrupt the place and let her beat up a few thugs, but she was grazed in the shoulder by a shotgun.
If Caitlyn had not rescued her in time, Vi definitely would have died there.
The two escaped to the lowest level of Zaun.
Vi finally could not hold on any longer and collapsed to the ground.
“Little help, cupcake?” “My name is Caitlyn.” Though Caitlyn’s tone was haughty, she still helped Vi up.
“But you’re sweet and soft, just like a cupcake.” Vi leaned weakly against Caitlyn.
The lowest level was the place that best reflected the upper city’s oppression.
Radiation, toxic gas, smog, and all kinds of trash were dumped here.
The people living here were the true bottom rung.
They did extremely dangerous work while earning meager wages.
Because of Silco’s Shimmer, most of the people here were more or less hooked on it.
Although Shimmer was addictive and harmful to the body, it was excellent at stimulating a person’s potential, letting people who should not have survived more than a couple of days struggle on a little longer.
And to make sure they could afford it, the Shimmer here was sold or distributed at relatively low prices.
Vi’s consciousness was already somewhat blurry.
This was the place where she and Powder had lived as children, and the walls still faintly showed the graffiti they had drawn when they were young.
“See that?
You topsiders are always finding new ways to squeeze us dry.” Vi clutched her wound and leaned against the wall to rest for a moment.
“We aren’t monsters, and just like you, we’re human too,” Caitlyn said, looking at the scene around them with a sigh.
At that moment, the heavily wounded Vi looked at the graffiti around her and vaguely saw Powder’s shadow.
“I shouldn’t have left you.” Those words were meant for Powder, but Powder was not here.
Caitlyn thought Vi was apologizing for leaving her behind at the little salon.
“It’s okay.
No matter what, I can tell you’re a good person,” Caitlyn said, somewhat relieved.
Not long after, Vi completely passed out.
To save Vi, Caitlyn went through several twists and turns before finally pawning her own gun in exchange for Shimmer to treat her.
Vi, wounded badly enough to hallucinate, actually saw her mother’s shadow in Caitlyn.
After all, her mother had blue hair too.
With Caitlyn’s care and the help of Shimmer, Vi’s injuries finally improved.
The wounds on her body miraculously began to heal.
This crisis also caused the two women’s relationship to warm rapidly.
From their initial mutual distrust, they had reached the point where they could entrust their backs to each other.
But they were not happy for long.
“So, how is it?
Our serum’s treatment effect is pretty good, right?” Felix’s voice came from above.
As the two looked up, Felix leapt down from the sky.
Behind him stood Silco and two infected undercity people.
At that moment, the two infected people were staring greedily at the two bottles of serum in Silco’s hand.
Because the news had come in such a hurry, Felix had not had time to put on the slightly cumbersome heavy mech, the Kingdom Mecha “Savage Wolf.” Instead, he had the more lightweight PROJECT light armor on his back and had rushed to the place where their scouts had found them.
“Felix!
How is my sister?” Vi’s voice carried a chill when she saw Felix.
“She’s alive and well.
Sometimes she even thinks of you.
But without you, she’s much more likable,” Felix said provocatively.
“Stop wasting time with her.
Kill her, and everything will be solved,” Silco said.
He was not the kind of villain who liked to ramble for half a day before a fight.
Felix was the exact opposite.
He preferred provoking and mocking his enemies.
“Fine.
How boring.” As he spoke, the Monarch SR “Living Flame” Armor carried on Felix’s back directly covered his body.
The Hextech gemstone was hidden behind the mech’s head.
This was also a helpless measure to prevent a violent impact from causing an explosion.
If the back of his head suffered a heavy blow, then even without the gemstone exploding, he would probably be dazed anyway.
In that case, he might as well let the explosion take the enemy with him.
“Although I don’t actually want to kill you.
On the contrary, I admire you quite a bit.
But for Jinx, there’s nothing to discuss.” After one last unnecessary line, Felix charged straight at Vi.
Vi’s wounds had already healed, and Shimmer had given her a stimulant-like effect.
At that moment, she felt incredibly strong.
Seeing Felix rush over, Vi was bare-handed, but she felt she could take him.
Caitlyn, who had pawned her gun, could only watch from the sidelines and could not join the fight.
The two clashed at close range.
Felix’s physical condition was not as strong as Vi’s, but with the living armor’s enhancement, their fists collided and actually sent out a blast of air.
As expected of Vi.
A monster who could punch a mech with her bare body.
Seeing that his first strike had failed, Felix twisted his hips and unleashed a whip kick that slammed directly into Vi.
Although Vi blocked it with her arm, she was still sent flying.
