Clutching Xie Zhiyi’s clothes, Doudou whispered secretively, “Let’s find somewhere empty to talk.”
That was what he said, but Doudou’s little eyes kept darting toward the camera.
What good would it do for only him to hear the big bad guy’s dark history? The important thing was for all the viewers to hear it, too.
Thinking of this, Doudou suddenly remembered an important matter.
Did he and his older brother appeal to people or not?
Resting his chubby little face against Xie Zhiyi’s chest, Doudou suddenly lifted his head and asked, “Does everyone like Doudou?”
Xie Zhiyi nodded heavily. “Of course, Doudou is too cute.”
Doudou thought with a proud air: Well, obviously. Who could help it when Doudou is this cute?
The child gave a sneaky chuckle, immensely pleased with himself.
The other two children grew anxious as well. Although they couldn’t play alone with Doudou, they didn’t want Xie Zhiyi to hog Doudou all to himself either. Both of them grabbed their gifts and crowded over, surrounding Xie Zhiyi.
Xie Xiran’s face turned dark, feeling somewhat speechless about his younger brother using his dark history to curry favor with Doudou.
Especially now that the kids were gathered around like they were listening to a story.
“Hurry up and shp… speak, Doudou is hungry and wants to go eat,” Doudou said, rubbing his little tummy.
Xie Zhiyi had simply blurted it out on impulse. Enduring his older brother’s gaze, he bit the bullet and said, “I heard from my mom that my brother still wet the bed when he was five years old!”
Doudou instantly clapped both hands over his mouth, though in the end, he couldn’t hold it back and burst into a fit of giggles.
Hahahaha, the big bad guy still wet the bed at five years old!
He didn’t even wet the bed anymore!
From the side, Bai Shu debunked the claim: “Doudou, what are you laughing at? You wet the bed just a short while ago, and you aren’t even five yet. Who knows if you just drank too much water back then and went looking for the toilet in your sleep?”
Stamping his foot in anger, Doudou retorted, “Doudou didn’t pee that, Shushu did!”
The corners of Bai Shu’s twitching mouth cracked slightly as he watched the child’s face turn red with fury, prompting him to quickly go along with it: “Yes, yes, yes, it wasn’t Doudou who peed.”
“It was never Doudou who peed!” Doudou lost all interest.
He flung himself into his older brother’s arms to throw a tantrum.
The bad older brother is getting better and better at protecting the big bad guy.
Hahahaha Doudou sabotages his brother, Shushu throws his younger brother under the bus—the two of them really are family
I’m dying of laughter. When it comes to ruining one’s brother, Zhiyi is also an expert. When has Xie Xiran ever been this flustered?
Hahahaha, but Big Brother Xie had already talked himself through it by the end; his face was calm and not nearly as dark as it was at first.
So Big Brother Xie used to wet the bed, too? Just like me when I was little. I was already in the first grade, but for some reason, I suddenly wet the bed that day and was completely shell-shocked.
We’ve all been there. So the movie emperor wet the bed when he was little too, hehehe~
We all know about Doudou wetting the bed, okay? We all know you didn’t do it, Doudou, don’t blame Shushu~
Nearby, Pingping also covered his mouth in astonishment, a wave of panic sweeping across his face.
“Pingping wet the bed the day before yesterday, too. So big brothers still wet the bed at five years old, huh?” In an instant, the burden lifted completely from Pingping’s heart, and he happily trotted over to ask Xie Xiran about it.
For a moment, everyone’s gazes shifted toward him. Xie Xiran accepted everyone’s attention with perfect calm and stated smoothly, “This is a completely normal phenomenon. There’s no need to carry a psychological burden, and there’s no need to feel shy either.”
Pingping nodded heavily: “Mhm, mhm!”
Hearing this, Doudou felt somewhat better inside, too. Raising his hands, he pinched his older brother’s cheeks from both sides: “Shushu, forget about this, you’re not allowed to mention it next time. This is a completely normal phenomenon.”
Glaring at the daring child, Bai Shu warned, “Let go.”
Because his cheeks were being pulled by Doudou, he couldn’t even speak properly.
Finding it immensely fun, Doudou began kneading his older brother’s face back and forth: “Doudou is soft, Shushu is soft, too. Fun to pinch.”
“Fun to pinch? Come here and let your brother pinch you enough to make up for it.” Bai Shu launched a counterattack, vigorously massaging Doudou’s chubby little face.
Not to mention, the texture really was quite nice.
Doudou refused to be outdone either, standing on his tiptoes to pinch his older brother right back.
The other three children ran over to join the fun: “Is it really fun to pinch?”
With that, they reached out their little hands, eager to try.
Bai Shu hurriedly scooped Doudou up: “Alright, you can try another time, let’s go eat first.”
Xie Zhiyi nodded rapidly: “Right, right, let’s eat first.”
Doudou’s face could not be pinched by just anyone.
Xie Zhiyi thought to himself with a subtle calculation: he would have to remind his younger brother later not to let the other kids pinch his cheeks.
Even though Doudou had drunk a bottle of milk, the portions Bai Shu mixed each time were intentionally very small, precisely to avoid ruining the child’s appetite for meals.
Doudou held the spoon himself and dug into his food with great mouthfuls, giving Bai Shu zero cause for worry.
Nearby, Liu Qing watched Qianqian mimic Doudou and polish off an entire bowl of rice without needing any coaxing, and came dangerously close to weeping with being moved.
At the same time, a fresh wave of a doting father’s tears streamed down his heart Doudou’s status in Qianqian’s heart had definitively surpassed his own.
Back at home, eating a meal had always been like coaxing a cat; even if they shouted and begged her like an ancestor, she wouldn’t touch a bite.
Pingping was the same way. Tian Yuewei had just been getting ready to coax her son into eating when she saw Pingping holding his own bowl, copying Doudou’s mannerisms and cleaning out every single grain of rice inside.
She was utterly dumbfounded.
The audience was dumbfounded, too.
Are these really Pingping and Qianqian? When did they ever become so proactive about eating? Normally when it’s mealtime and I watch Liu Qing and Tian Yuewei chase after them trying to feed them, I get so anxious I could pull my hair out.
Tell me about it. Is this the sheer power of Doudou?
Wuwuwu I want to sit at the same dining table as Doudou now, too.
By the end of the meal, the adults were satisfied and the children were happy.
Once they finished eating, Doudou rubbed his sleepy eyes and grew eager for sleep.
“Shushu sleepy.” With that, he crawled right onto Bai Shu’s lap, demanding to be held.
Helpless, Bai Shu had no choice but to cradle the child and follow along with the main group.
“I’ll carry him,” Xie Xiran offered naturally, taking the child over. Doudou didn’t mind being held by Xie Xiran anymore, either.
He should just carry me the whole way and let his arms get sore.
Doudou reached up to scratch his neck, then rubbed against Xie Xiran with a miserable whimper.
Frowning, Xie Xiran looked down: “Why is his neck red?”
Startled, Bai Shu hurried over to lift the child’s clothes and take a look, discovering that the skin around his chest was red as well.
“Could Doudou be allergic to cat fur, too?” Bai Shu wondered aloud.
Doudou had petted cats before, and nothing like this had ever happened.
Tian Yuewei had experience in this area; having a child at home, she had practically turned herself into a half-doctor, especially since Pingping used to suffer from frequent allergies.
“Let me see. It’s fine, it’s just a mild case. Just give him a bath with soap later and apply some ointment; I brought some with me.”
Tian Yuewei had specifically packed a small medical kit.
“I’ll take him to wash up,” Bai Shu said, making a move to take the child back.
Xie Xiran sidestepped to evade Bai Shu’s reach: “That place of yours isn’t convenient, come over to the place I’m staying instead.”
And so, the search party split into two teams: one team went off to sell toys to earn money for ingredients, while the other team prepared the cooking utensils and dinner.
They would set off as soon as afternoon naptime ended.
Bai Shu and Xie Xiran formed a team, and they had to head back first to take care of the red marks on the child’s skin.
Worried sick, Xie Zhiyi trailed closely by his older brother’s side.
Doudou had practically been on the verge of falling asleep, but the moment he heard Xie Xiran was going to give him a bath, he snapped back to life instantly.
Wasn’t this the exact opportunity he’d been waiting for?
He forced his exhausted eyes wide open, his eyelids drooping heavily into three distinct layers.
“Uncle is taking Doudou to take a bath?” Doudou asked in a dazed, sleepy voice.
“Mhm, excited?” Xie Xiran teased intentionally.
“Excited! Super excited!” Once the child confirmed it, he instantly snapped fully awake and cheered.
That’s not quite what I expected, Xie Xiran thought.
Doudou was acting a bit overly excited.
Even Bai Shu sensed something was wrong: “Doudou, why are you so happy?”
Doudou twiddled his little fingers, feeling like he was showing a bit too much enthusiasm: “Doudou… Doudou wants to play in the water.”
Bai Shu rolled his eyes he knew it.
Xie Xiran hadn’t expected that reason either.
When they arrived at the location, Bai Shu first ran back to fetch another set of pajamas for the little fellow. Before leaving, he couldn’t resist a parting jab: “Doudou, you really are a little troublemaker, you’ve already changed through three or four outfits just being here for half a day.”
Stripped down to just a pair of short trunks, Doudou lay face down on Xie Xiran’s bed, making not a peep as he pretended not to hear.
Patting the child’s little bottom, Bai Shu instructed, “Wait obediently for older brother to come back. Zhiyi, do you want to come along with older brother?”
Xie Zhiyi thought about it he couldn’t leave Shushu alone: “Zhiyi will go with Shushu.”
Leaving Xie Xiran and Doudou behind.
“Let’s go, the water temperature is just right.” Xie Xiran went over to test it, having filled up an entire bathtub.
Doudou had been lying facedown on the bed, feeling too shy to move because he was bare from the waist up. But the moment Xie Xiran picked him up into his arms, the child unhesitatingly unzipped his collar and burrowed straight into his chest.
Looking at the furry head poking out from his neckline, Xie Xiran: …
Hahahaha Doudou is so cute, even Brother Xie is left speechless.
I never expected Doudou to be the first person to publicly share a bath with Brother Xie. So jealous, so jealous.
Wuwuwu why is there no camera in the bathroom? I want to see, I want to see!
Hehehe, I want to see too, but that’s definitely impossible. Just listening to the audio will have to be enough to satisfy us.
I honestly don’t know whether I should envy Xie Xiran or Doudou more. I want both of them.
“Wait!” Doudou’s expression shifted drastically.
Right before getting into the water, he suddenly remembered something vital: what about his backpack?
“Doudou’s backpack isn’t brought inside yet!”
With that, completely throwing caution to the wind, he scampered out with his bare little feet to grab the backpack sitting on the sofa. Digging his tiny hand inside, he fished out a paper-boat-shaped check.
Xie Xiran had just taken off his shirt, revealing his well-defined, taut muscles: “Does Doudou want to play with paper boats while taking a bath?”
With a sinister smile, Doudou replied, “Hehehe.”
Xie Xiran: “?”
At that moment, the livestream chat had gone completely feral. Xie Xiran had actually bared his upper body! No wonder Doudou kept trying to feel him up all morning who wouldn’t drool at the sight of a physique like that?
Everyone instantly transformed into screaming chickens.
Then, they were caught completely off guard by a massive plot drop.
Lifting his little face toward Xie Xiran, Doudou put on the airs of a little adult and announced, “Here, this is a one-million-dollar check. Stay away from my older brother!”
Mimicking the evil mother-in-law from television, Doudou flicked the check which he had stylishly folded into a paper boat right at Xie Xiran, his chubby little face brimming with utter disdain.
Xie Xiran unfolded the paper boat; it really was a check, only what was written across it was
“One… egg, egg, egg?”
“It’s one million!” Doudou grew frantic.
Was this guy illiterate or what?
This made it even worse; he absolutely had to shake off this big bad villain!
The viewers were completely dumbfounded. Was this what the check was being used for?
And what was this business about leaving Shushu?
Were Bai Shu and Xie Xiran already together?
Since when?!
