Su Yi slept until she woke up naturally. Looking at the empty terrain inside her pocket dimension, she realized she still needed to put some serious work into developing it. She also needed to thoroughly inspect the items in the shopping mall, taking inventory of what was inside and where everything was located, just so she could have a clear picture in her mind.
She walked and looked around, munching on a piece of bread as she went. She wasn’t particularly picky about food, so a simple piece of bread made her perfectly content.
After wandering around for several hours, she finally got a clear handle on the goods in the dimension. Though the process felt exactly like a regular shopping spree—stepping into one boutique, stepping out of another, and occasionally trying things out firsthand.
Once she finished touring, Su Yi felt like taking a break; after all, walking around a shopping mall was quite exhausting. Day by day, her life was becoming incredibly comfortable—she simply rested whenever she felt tired.
Su Yi lay down on her temporary bed to clear her mind, feeling completely at ease. Once she was fully rested, she drank a large glass of spiritual spring water, instantly feeling a wave of refreshment wash over her entire body.
After finishing the water and grabbing a quick bite to eat, she exited the dimension. It was time to begin a new day of treasure hunting! Su Yi’s spirits were exceptionally high, completely charged up and ready to go.
Su Yi scanned the area around yesterday’s cave and, sure enough, discovered tracks left behind by animals. The footprints weren’t small either, likely belonging to some large predator. It was a good thing she hadn’t actually spent the night inside that cave.
Su Yi looked up and saw that the sun was already slanting toward the west. She checked the luxury brand watch on her wrist to estimate the time—it was roughly three in the afternoon. After adjusting her watch to match the general time of day, she began forging ahead.
Leaning on her hiking stick, Su Yi walked forward beneath the sparse shade of the trees. It wasn’t hot at all; in fact, it felt rather pleasant. Looking at the scenery before her—a tranquil environment lush with green trees—she reminded herself that she wasn’t here to enjoy the sights. She needed to seize the time to find treasure.
Before she had walked very far, Su Yi spotted a patch of wild herbs. Thanks to her years of scrolling through short videos, she could recognize quite a few medicinal plants. As for their exact medicinal value, she had long since forgotten, remembering only their appearance. With a single thought, she transferred the entire patch of herbs into her dimension. She would figure out their specific uses later.
Using her intent, Su Yi watered the herbs with spiritual spring water. Instantly, the plants brimmed with vitality, growing at an incredibly delightful pace.
“Mimi, let’s keep going! It would be amazing if we could find some ginseng, lingzhi mushrooms, or wild fungi.”
“We can do it~ I believe in you~”
Su Yi nodded with a smile. She needed to redouble her efforts, work hard to make a fortune, and ideally become a wealthy powerhouse in the region. The more she thought about it, the happier she became, as if she were already standing inside a house made of gold.
Lifting her head, she noticed an apple tree not far away. The apples looked huge and bright red. She immediately plucked one and took a bite—it was crisp, sweet, and incredibly juicy. So delicious! With an instantaneous flash of her mind, she relocated the entire fruit tree into her dimension.
Su Yi intentionally placed the fruit tree right next to the spiritual spring, near the spot where she usually rested. She wanted to transform this empty clearing into a beautiful haven.
As she kept walking, over half an hour slipped by without any further discoveries. However, she wasn’t discouraged. This massive mountain range was a treasure trove; she just had to uncover it slowly.
Su Yi took a sip of spiritual spring water and continued forward when she suddenly saw something flash past the brush. It was a wild pheasant! She quickly bolted forward, but she couldn’t catch it by hand. Left with no choice, she threw her hiking stick. Incredibly, it hit the mark!
“Hehehe! I actually managed to catch one of these things, I’m amazing! But I don’t dare put the live pheasant straight into the main area. What if it wreaks havoc on my medicinal herbs?”
“I’ll tie its legs up for now! I need to build some fences; I might end up raising other livestock in the future.”
After transferring the wild pheasant into the dimension, Su Yi began rummaging through the bushes like a little thief. She figured that since there was a pheasant, there might be wild pheasant eggs nearby.
Heaven rewards the diligent, and she finally found them.
Lying tucked away in the grass were twelve plump, round wild pheasant eggs. Overjoyed, Su Yi quickly brought out a basket and carefully placed the eggs inside.
“My harvest is really turning out great today! I need to keep searching!” Confident and motivated, she stored the eggs in her dimension and continued her treasure hunt.
Cradling Mimi in her arms, Su Yi felt an overwhelming sense of security, which only fueled her drive to find treasures. She marched forward with her head held high, stopping and starting along the way. Whenever she spotted edible wild greens, she would dig them up. Her policy was strict: where she passed, not a single valuable leaf was left behind.
About half an hour had passed since she caught the pheasant, and she hadn’t found anything else of high value. Still, she didn’t lose heart. Even the smallest mosquito has meat; wild greens were great too, and she knew plenty of ways to cook them.
She glanced at her watch and realized it was getting late; the sun was about to drop below the horizon. It was time to look for a place to stay the night! Just like the previous day, she headed toward the rocky side of the mountain to see if she could find a cave to sleep in, wanting to experience what it truly felt like to camp out in a cave.
“Wow! Is this… ginseng? I’m rich! There’s a whole patch of them! There must be at least a dozen plants!” The sheer delight on her face couldn’t be hidden. In an instant, a large patch of earth was left looking as if it had been heavily excavated, resembling a newly cleared wasteland.
Su Yi didn’t dare dawdle any longer. She needed to find a cave quickly, as the sky was about to turn completely dark. Then again, she wasn’t too frantic—after all, she had the dimension as a safety net, so she wasn’t genuinely worried about her safety.
“There’s a cave over that way~” Mimi said, darting out from the underbrush.
Hearing this, Su Yi hurriedly ran in the direction Mimi pointed. It wasn’t far; within a couple of minutes, she was standing at the entrance of the cave.
Looking at the cave, the opening wasn’t very large. She summoned her courage and decided to venture inside to investigate.
At first, she had to hunch over and use a flashlight to move forward, but eventually, the cave opened up, becoming wider and wider. It turned out there was a whole hidden world inside. The interior showed signs of past human habitation, though it looked like it had been abandoned for a very long time.
The ground looked quite dirty, but it was easy to clean since it was mostly just dust. There were no signs of animals living there—likely because the entrance was so small—making it very safe. Su Yi sprinkled some water on the ground, grabbed a broom, and swept it clean in a few quick strokes.
“I’ll go block the entrance! Just in case any small animals try to wander in; it wouldn’t do to have them disrupting my sweet dreams,” Su Yi said. She walked all the way back to the opening and pulled out an object roughly the size of the entrance to seal it shut.
With her safety secured, Su Yi utilized the plenty of firewood she had gathered during the day. Clicking her lighter, she had a roaring fire going in no time.
Su Yi then began decorating her temporary mansion! A bed, a table, chairs, pots, bowls… all sorts of items materialized inside the cave.
She wanted to drink some spiritual spring water to unwind before making dinner. Tonight, she wanted to cook a fresh meal herself! Down Thief a large glass of spiritual spring water, Su Yi felt herself fully revive.
Sweeping the cave, building the fire, and walking almost the entire day without rest had taken its toll. But with the booster effect of the spiritual spring water, she was now completely back to full energy.
Su Yi thought of her fresh wild greens and grew hungry. I want to eat them! I’ll make a meat dish to go with it! Two dishes were more than enough for her.
“Mimi, let’s make a cold tossed salad with the wild greens! And I want to eat spicy diced chicken (Lazi Ji); I know how to make that too. We’ll just grab the rice pre-made from the dimension. What do you think?”
“Sounds good to me~” Mimi replied cooperatively.
Having fully recovered her energy, Su Yi got straight to work. Washing the vegetables, prepping the ingredients, heating the oil, tempering the spices, frying the meat, and stir-frying the dishes—everything was executed in one smooth motion.
It took her just half an hour to finish the two dishes. The vibrant green wild vegetables were garnished with garlic slices and red chili peppers, topped with a drizzle of sizzling hot oil; it looked incredibly appetizing. The spicy chicken also looked spectacular, and just the aroma alone made her mouth water.
Su Yi quickly picked up her chopsticks and took a bite. “So delicious! This is the exact flavor! I really am an unsung culinary genius!” As a former corporate drone, Su Yi’s cooking skills were actually quite decent, honed over the years to save money and satisfy her own cravings.
“If only I could scroll through short videos right now! But that’s impossible. There’s zero network signal here.”
The next second, a smartphone appeared in Su Yi’s hand. Sure enough, it was completely useless for browsing. It only retained a few basic offline functions, while everything else required an internet connection, so she could only give up on the idea.
Since she couldn’t play on her phone, she focused entirely on her food. Once Su Yi set her mind to eating, she cleared the plates and emptied the bowl in no time.
After dinner, she briskly cleaned up and tidied her surroundings.
Following that, she went through a full routine of washing up and skincare. Before long, she settled down to think about what she should do tomorrow.
“I can stay here for another day. After all, the conditions in this cave are pretty good. I can set up some traps nearby to try my luck. Who knows, maybe I’ll catch a wild boar or something?” Su Yi mumbled to herself, lying on her bed and staring up at the roof of the cave.
Not long after, Su Yi drifted off to go chat with the Duke of Zhou in her dreams.
