The living room was spacious, with a large, soft leather sofa in the center, a water dispenser, a large refrigerator, a small dining table, and a sink in another corner, next to another door.

The scent of lavender filled the room, almost too strong for Aurelie, whose nose was very sensitive.

Matthew led her to one of the sofas.Full novel: Ex’s Regret: Sold Me to the Billionaire Alpha — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Sit down,” he said.

“I’ll make you a drink so we can chat.

I miss times like this.”

“Don’t bother,” Aurelie said.

“I can’t stay here long.

Vincent isn’t here, so why wait?

I’d better go home and wait for him at the White Mansion.”

Matthew’s brow furrowed.

“The White Mansion?

Vincent took you there straight away?

To meet his extended family?”

“Of course,” Aurelie said.

“Why do you think it’s for?

I’ve met Grandpa Aston, and although I was apprehensive at first, he’s been very kind and welcoming.”

“I can’t believe this,” Mathew muttered, confused and annoyed.

How could someone like Aurelie be so well-received at the notoriously mysterious White Mansion?

And Aton Keagan IX even welcomed her so well?

That was strange and unexpected.

Matthew secretly felt a slight tightening in his chest.

He didn’t like the fact that Aurelie was not only fine after being tricked and tricked, but she was actually even better.

This made Mathew even more passionate about carrying out his plan on Aurelie.

“Okay, just wait a minute, I’ll make you something to drink right away.

You must be thirsty.

Your forehead is drenched in sweat, too.”

“Okay, but don’t take too long.

I don’t want Vincent looking for me,” Aurelie said.

Aurelie’s words made Mathew sneer at her.

Aurelie knew what Mathew was about to make.

His body was thick with a bitter aroma now, indicating he was tense and a little afraid.

He must be up to no good and his body is giving off a bad odor because his hormones are working overtime to overcome his nervousness.

After studying perfume for so long, Aurelie has become skilled at distinguishing human body odors and differentiating them based on mood.

When she was still dating Mathew, she often had to endure dizziness or nausea because he had a strong body odor.

Men typically have a stronger body odor than women.

And a man’s body odor is easily triggered by the situation around him, his feelings, and his physical condition.

Clearly, Mathew was currently feeling a tension that must have arisen from within himself, a feeling of excitement, a feeling of worry, and fear.

Aurelie took out a thin silver needle used in acupuncture from a box she always carried in her bag and a small, thick glass bottle filled with a thick, amber liquid.

Aurelie inserted the needle into the bottle through the rubber cap, then quickly hid the needle behind her when Mathew arrived.

“Here, drink this,” Mathew said, handing her a pink drink.

“Later,” Aurelie said.

“I don’t want my stomach to bloat.”

Matthew sat next to Aurelie, reaching out to put his arm around her waist, but as soon as his fingers touched hers, Aurelie quickly pricked his palm with the silver needle she’d been hiding.

The sharp pain quickly spread and would become a numbing paralysis in Mathew’s arm.

“Uh, what was that?” Mathew asked, pulling his hand away.

“Something sharp stabbed me.”

“Maybe you got some sequins on my shirt,” Aurelie said.

“Uh, Mathew, I think you should take a shower.

You just finished training, right?

You know I don’t really like the smell of sweat.”

“Hmm, yes, I know,” Mathew said.

“Don’t go anywhere.

I’ll be right back.”

“Is there a bathroom here?” Aurelie asked.

“It’s in the west corner by the sink,” Mathew said.

“The bathroom is nice.”

“Go take a shower,” Aurelie said.

“Just relax, I’m not going anywhere.

You don’t have to rush.”

Matthew smiled slyly and went into the bathroom.

He thought Aurelie had come specifically for him.

Maybe she regretted taking Vincent Keagan for granted and not protesting or fighting to get back with him.

For a moment, Matthew thought about Fiora, but he quickly dismissed the thought.

He was more afraid of his fathers now, and what he had said about their company going bankrupt if he lost Aurelie was truly worrying him.

He would deal with Fiora later.

After all, he loved Fiora deeply, and Aurelie was merely a convenience for the family business; there were no deeper feelings whatsoever.

Aurelie listened carefully to Mathew’s footsteps, and after the bathroom door closed with a greeting, the sound of running water, and Mathew’s dissonant humming, she got up from the sofa and walked to the door.

Matthew always took a long time in the shower, and his humming was always a song with no clear meaning.

Aurelie picked up her phone and tapped the screen, then ordered a call to Krit.

Her bodyguard arrived immediately.

“Ms.

Aurelie, I’ve been looking everywhere.

Have you met Alpha Vincent?”

Aurelie shook her head.

“No.

Do you know where he is?

I didn’t see him on the training field earlier.”

“Alpha Vincent and Beta Gary are in their special room on the north side of this building.

They seem to be having a serious discussion about work,” Krit said.

“I’ll take you there.”

“No, Krit.

There’s something I need to do here.

But I need your help.

Will you help me?” Aurelie asked with a smile.

Krit stared at Aurelie for a moment, melted by her sweet smile.

“Of course, Ms.

Aurelie.

Just tell me what to do for you.”

Aurelie gave Krit some instructions, who listened intently.

He nodded with a frown.

“Are you sure it won’t be dangerous, Ms.

Aurelie?” Krit asked worriedly.

“Don’t worry,” Aurelie reassured her bodyguard.

“I know what I’m doing and I can take care of myself.”

Krit smiled faintly.

“Yes, I’m sure.

The guards said you kicked the bedroom door off its hinges last night.”

“Ah,” Aurelie said sheepishly.

“It was nothing.”

“I’ll be right back, Ms.

Aurelie.

Be careful,” Krit said.
