After Ruan Mi calmly explained the whole situation, Bo Yuan exploded.

“Wait for me, I’ll come to the hospital to pick you up right away.”

Bo Yuan pulled her head into his arms.

“Cry, you can cry as much as you want here.”

Ruan Mi’s body stiffened for a moment, the bitterness suppressed in her heart slowly rising to her throat.

Her eyes finally couldn’t bear the weight of the tears and they fell.

All her strength and pretense crumbled before Bo Yuan.

She hugged Bo Yuan tightly.

Since she married Mu Xiubai, the time she spent with Bo Yuan had dwindled.

She had focused all her energy on how to please Mu Xiubai. Bo Yuan said that Mu Xiubai was unreliable, that he had no love for her, not even a sliver of affection.

She knew Bo Yuan was right, but when you’re in darkness and have nowhere to turn for help, a ray of light suddenly shines in.

In that moment, the darkness was completely dispelled, and she found salvation.

And Mu Xiubai was that ray of light.

She refused to believe that the light was fleeting, so she chased after it desperately.

In the end, the light was completely swallowed by darkness; she was defeated, utterly defeated.

Bo Yuan gently patted Ruan Mi’s back, tears streaming down her face along with Ruan Mi’s.

Feeling the person in her arms tremble with sobs, the silent choking sounds causing a sharp pang of heartache.

Perhaps exhausted from crying, or perhaps due to physical weakness, Ruan Mi fell asleep in Bo Yuan’s arms.

The next morning.

Bo Yuan, fearing Ruan Mi might change her mind, had planned to quickly retrieve Ruan Mi’s belongings

and say goodbye to that scumbag Mu Xiubai.

A phone call disrupted her entire plan.

“It’s okay, I can manage. This movie is very important to you; you can’t miss it.”

Bo Yuan was a top-tier actress in China, and a film she was currently working on had the potential to win her a Best Actress award.

“Okay, remember to call me if anything happens. By the way, this is the lawyer I found for you; she can help you.”

Bo Yuan shared the lawyer’s WeChat contact.

After Ruan Mi added Bo Yuan as a friend, Bo Yuan was reluctantly pulled away by her agent.

After the friend request was accepted, Ruan Mi made an appointment with the other party, quickly packed

her things, and left. After finalizing the divorce arrangements, she still needed to go back and pack her things.

It was already five o’clock in the afternoon when she returned to the villa. As soon as she pushed open the door, she saw Zhou Mei, supporting her flat stomach, directing the maids to move things.

She had the air of a domineering mistress.

Seeing the home that she had once carefully built now unrecognizable, Ruan Mi’s heart still felt uncomfortable for a moment  .

When Aunt Zhang saw Ruan Mi return, she quickly stepped forward to explain, “Madam, this is the master’s wish, we can’t do anything about it.”

“It’s okay, I just came back to get my things.”

Ruan Mi just glanced at her lightly, not caring anymore. She was leaving anyway, let Zhou Mei do whatever she wanted!

But as soon as she stepped onto the stairs, Zhou Mei’s sarcastic voice came out.

“Ruan Mi, long time no see. Aren’t you going to say hello?”

Ruan Mi didn’t want to get entangled with her any longer. A pregnant woman was taking advantage of her pregnancy, acting recklessly.

She was about to get a divorce and didn’t want any complications. Ignoring Zhou Mei’s clamor, she went straight to the master bedroom to start packing her things.

She opened the wardrobe door, and it was all white.

This was Zhou Mei’s favorite color. To match Mu Xiubai, her wardrobe was almost entirely white.

But she didn’t like it; she preferred bright and flamboyant colors.

Her fingers rummaged through the last few colored items

, packing them all into boxes. She opened the last drawer, opened the gift box, but it was empty.

Where was her jade bracelet?

She searched inside and out several more times, but to no avail.

“Looking for something?”

Ruan Mi turned around and looked over. Zhou Mei was leaning against the door, smiling smugly.

She raised her fair, delicate wrist and tucked a stray hair behind her ear.

The jade bracelet was hanging brightly on Zhou Mei’s wrist.

Ruan Mi’s face darkened, and she quickly walked over and grabbed Zhou Mei’s wrist.

“Who told you to wear that? Take it off!” Her tone was gloomy and icy.

That was a keepsake left to her by her mother; how dare Zhou Mei take it?

Ignoring Zhou Mei’s struggles, she forcefully pulled it off her wrist.

“Ah… Ruan Mi, are you crazy? My hand!”

Blood seeped from her pale wrist.

“Who gave you permission to touch my things? Taking things without permission is theft. Do you want me to call the police?”

Ruan Mi’s cold eyes swept over her.

“What do you mean ‘your’? Xiu Bai gave it to me. Xiu Bai said everything in this villa belongs to me.”

As she spoke, she reached for the bracelet in Ruan Mi’s hand; she had taken a liking to this bracelet at first sight.

Ruan Mi slapped her across the face; she had long been fed up with Zhou Mei’s malicious provocation.

“Yours?”

Ruan Mi sneered. “Do you know how much this bracelet is worth? You couldn’t afford it even if you sold yourself.

Besides, what right does Mu Xiubai have to give you my things? Who do you think you are?”

“You dare to hit me?”

“I’ll hit you.”

Just as the two were arguing, Mu Xiubai’s voice came from downstairs.
