Absolutely Impossible!
3: Nick Fury: Impossible.
Absolutely Impossible!
A new chapter is up.
Come in, get comfortable, and let’s see what kind of trouble waits this time ❤️ ✦ At first, the mages had been worried.
As practitioners of the mystic arts, they were not like ordinary people who dismissed other worlds as nonsense.
They knew other dimensions existed.
Their own magic drew power from forces beyond Earth.
But the content on the screen looked far too fake.
One bite, and someone instantly became a zombie?
That was absurd.
A transformation on that scale should not happen that easily.
This was not a movie where logic could be thrown out the window.
It made no sense in science or sorcery.
“Fake?” The Ancient One stepped into the open, her tone difficult to read.
“Do you mean…” Mordo caught the implication in her unfinished sentence, and his expression tightened.
“Sorcerer Supreme, are you saying this is real?” “That an apocalyptic world like this truly exists?
And this…
invasion?” His voice tightened as he swallowed.
“Perhaps,” the Ancient One said.
Mordo’s thoughts spun.
He did not have long to think about it.
New information appeared on the screen.
With the Sorcerer Supreme treating the matter seriously, Mordo no longer dared to dismiss it as a prank.
[The Umbrella Corporation has successfully developed the T-virus for bio-organic weapons (B.O.W.) research.] [After learning of its existence, someone entered Umbrella’s underground facility in Raccoon City, the Hive, to steal it.
During the theft, one T-virus sample was accidentally broken.
The virus leaked, infected the entire base, and turned its personnel into horrifying undead creatures.
The leak is still spreading.] [Umbrella immediately dispatched a special operations team to enter the Hive, shut down the central AI core known as the Red Queen, and seal the facility before the virus escapes and plunges the world into an apocalyptic crisis.] As the text appeared, the number of zombies on the screen multiplied at terrifying speed.
In the blink of an eye, they had gathered into a tide.
At the base entrance, an elite team armed to the teeth slipped silently inside.
“Umbrella Corporation?” Nick Fury’s voice dropped, and his expression tightened.
The hacker who had broken into S.H.I.E.L.D.’s internal network still had not been found.
Now another name had appeared: a corporation developing biological weapons.
They had failed to control their own project, created the T-virus, and nearly pushed an entire world toward extinction.
It sounded absurd.
A virus that could turn people into zombies.
A single vial capable of infecting an entire underground base.
That level of biotechnology was beyond S.H.I.E.L.D.
It was beyond the U.S.
military.
They were not even in the same category.
“Impossible.
Absolutely impossible.” Fury’s mouth tightened.
Disbelief was written across his face.
Advanced hacking could be explained by talent.
Geniuses existed, and geniuses were different.
Biotechnology was another matter entirely.
It was a resource-heavy field.
No matter how brilliant someone was, no one created results like this without money, infrastructure, personnel, and years of research.
And the Umbrella Corporation?
A corporate power capable of affecting the global order, and he had never heard of it?
That was not possible.
“S.H.I.E.L.D.
is the organization protecting Earth.” “Umbrella Corporation?
Sounds like a ghost corporation playing god.” Fury’s gaze hardened, his conviction ironclad.
Before he could say anything else, the text in front of him changed, and his expression stalled as if he had seen something impossible.
“How is that possible?” [Selecting participants…] [Selection complete.] [Deployment: Resident Evil] The screen shifted again.
It was no longer a flat sequence of footage.
The view seemed to become three-dimensional, pulling the world into focus.
In a corridor where zombies wandered, a curvy woman in a skintight black tactical suit moved forward in a low crouch, poised like a panther about to strike.
Danger clung to her, mixed with a fierce, magnetic beauty that instantly drew countless eyes.
“Natasha?” “What is she doing there?” Fury recognized his best operative at once.
The woman on the screen was one of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s top agents.
Black Widow.
Natasha Romanoff.
But Natasha had been following his orders on a covert assignment overseas.
How could she suddenly be here?
Unless…
The things on that screen were true.
Invasion.
The multiverse.
Rewards beyond imagination.
Fear flickered beneath Fury’s disbelief.
Before he could think further, the scene changed again.
“Look out!” “Behind her!” Coulson went still.
Behind Black Widow, a twisted zombie was lunging toward her with clawing hands and a gaping mouth.
Foul green fluid dripped from its jagged teeth.
The liquid hissed where it struck the floor, eating pits into stone.
After seeing what these creatures had already done, even Fury tensed.
Their infection was too strong.
If one scratch was enough to transform a person, he could not gamble with Natasha’s life.
“Move!” “Do not let it touch you!” “Those things are toxic.
Avoid any wounds.” Fury shouted into the communicator, but the result was exactly what he feared.
It was as if Natasha stood in another world.
The signal was dead.
Looking at the silent communicator, Fury felt his heart sink.
“No way.” “A woman that gorgeous is about to turn into a zombie?” “The production team has no mercy.
I thought she was a main character, not cannon fodder.” “What a waste.
Let me have a turn first.” The online comments flooded past, with plenty of people trying to turn fear into jokes.
They were scared, but they could not stop watching.
To them, this was still a revolutionary piece of movie footage.
“Run.
Don’t look back!” “Don’t look back +1.” “Don’t look back +2.” The comments filled the screen as the zombie closed in.
Its open mouth aimed for the pale skin at the back of Black Widow’s neck, close enough that the foul breath almost seemed to touch her.
At the last possible instant, Natasha frowned.
“That stench.” The cold wind at her back set every alarm in her body screaming.
She did not hesitate.
The experience of surviving countless life-or-death moments took over.
Without looking, she reversed the short blade in her hand and struck toward the source of the smell.
Her body moved on instinct.
