In the eyes of Colossus and the others, Roy breaking Morgan’s rib might not have been serious enough to get him expelled, but he was definitely going to be punished.

After all, he was the first student to actually injure a classmate.

What none of them could have imagined was that Professor X had no intention of punishing Roy at all.Full novel: Marvel: Starting With Fish Fish Fruit — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

If anything, he was even considering giving Roy some extra guidance.

Whether it was telling Roy to study information on secondary X-gene mutations in the library or suggesting that he speak with Wolverine Logan, both were enough to prove that.

Professor X hadn’t said it outright, but Roy could roughly guess why.

The reason was simple.

Mutants capable of undergoing a secondary awakening were simply too rare.

Although Roy had yet to display particularly astonishing combat power, Professor X knew that as long as he was given enough time to develop, he would eventually become a dependable powerhouse.

Of course, that was assuming Roy didn’t become an extremist like Magneto.

Otherwise, the stronger he became, the greater the threat he would pose.

“That’s not exactly a record worth celebrating.” After saying that, Roy walked straight over to his bed, lay down without another word, and began thinking about what he should do next.

Judging from the current situation, he should be able to remain at the school and safely spend this initial period growing stronger.

Although the Alkali Lake incident was still ahead, there shouldn’t be any major problems in the immediate future.

Keep a low profile, don’t get reckless, and focus on getting stronger.

The mutating Fish-Fish Fruit, Mythical Zoan, Model: Azure Dragon was continuously strengthening his body.

Every day, his physical attributes increased noticeably.

As long as he didn’t go looking for trouble himself, even when the Alkali Lake incident occurred, he shouldn’t be in any real danger.

The most troublesome part of the Alkali Lake incident wasn’t Lady Deathstrike, who was under Colonel Stryker’s control.

It was Professor X, who was manipulated by Stryker’s mutant son, Jason.

Colonel Stryker intended to use Cerebro and the controlled Professor X to wipe out every mutant in the world in one stroke.

As plans went, it was actually quite good.

Unfortunately, it posed absolutely no threat to Roy.

Thanks to Absolute Psychic Defense, he was immune to all forms of psychic influence.

So the most dangerous part of the Alkali Lake incident simply didn’t exist for him from the very beginning.

After deciding that his priority for the foreseeable future would be keeping a low profile and steadily growing stronger, Roy got up, left the dormitory, and headed for the library.

There was still plenty of time before evening.

Before leaving the school with Clarice to have dinner in town, he planned to learn more about secondary X-gene mutations.

Although he possessed the natural advantage of a transmigrator’s foreknowledge, what he knew was mostly limited to certain future events and the abilities of relatively famous characters.

When it came to everything else about this world, especially knowledge related to the X-gene, his understanding was rather limited.

He had nothing better to do anyway.

Learning more could only be beneficial.

How did that saying go again?

Knowledge is power!

After arriving at the library, Roy found several books related to secondary X-gene mutations, chose an empty seat, and began reading through them quickly.

Perhaps it was because his Spirit attribute had also increased, but he discovered that both his memory and comprehension were far better than they had been before he transmigrated.

He certainly didn’t possess Superman’s kind of super-learning ability.

But to his surprise, having a photographic memory was now no problem at all.

In less than half an hour, he finished an entire specialist book on secondary X-gene mutations and memorized its contents word for word.

After finishing the first book, he picked up a second specialist text on the X-gene and continued reading.

Time passed quickly.

Before long, it was a little after five in the afternoon.

After finishing all three specialist books in front of him, Roy returned them to the shelves and headed back toward the dormitory.

Before he could reach his room, however, he ran into Clarice in the hallway.

Seeing her pacing back and forth outside his dorm room, Roy walked over and asked, “Were you looking for me?” “Mm-hmm!” Clarice nodded shyly.

“This is a good time to leave.

Let’s go.” Roy spoke calmly.

“Okay!” Clarice immediately replied.

The garage.

Following the original Roy’s memories, Roy found the car that belonged to “him” and drove Clarice away from the school.

Although the mutant school was a boarding school, students weren’t forbidden from going out or leaving the grounds.

Of course, it was still best to inform one of the teachers before heading out.

Clarice had already told Phoenix that she and Roy were planning to visit the nearby town.

She hadn’t explained exactly why, but Phoenix quickly gave them permission.

Both Clarice and Roy were students who were nearly adults.

Phoenix had been young once too, and she understood perfectly well that students their age didn’t enjoy spending every hour of every day confined to school grounds.

Although the town was some distance from the school, Phoenix wasn’t worried about their safety.

The mutant school had existed for decades.

The people living in the town had long since grown accustomed to mutants.

Unlike in many other places, the local residents didn’t show much discrimination toward mutants.

Perhaps because she wanted to cater to Roy’s tastes, Clarice deliberately chose a Chinese restaurant.

More precisely, it was the only Chinese restaurant in town.

From the outside, the place didn’t look particularly impressive.

The restaurant wasn’t large, and the decor was hardly luxurious.

But the moment Roy stepped inside, he knew the food probably wouldn’t be bad.

The reason was simple.

It was a very typical family-run restaurant.

Both the husband and wife were Chinese-American.

The husband worked as the chef, while his wife handled serving customers and the register.

Besides the couple, there was also a little boy inside who looked no older than five or six.

Clarice was obviously not visiting for the first time.

As soon as she entered, she greeted the owner’s wife with familiar ease.

Clarice, who had seemed somewhat introverted at school, now appeared almost like a different person.

She looked completely relaxed.

“Mr.

and Mrs.

Lee came here several years ago and opened this restaurant.” Clarice explained to Roy.

“Looks like you’ve been here quite a few times.” Roy smiled.

“Not that often.

Maybe once every week or two.” Clarice quickly replied.

“Since you’re the regular, you can order for us.” Roy set down the menu and looked at her.

“Mm-hmm!” Clarice called the owner’s wife over and began ordering without even looking at the menu.

After Clarice finished, the woman first gave Roy a careful look.

Then she teasingly turned to Clarice.

“This is the first time you’ve ever brought someone here for dinner.

Is he your boyfriend?” The moment she finished speaking, a shy blush appeared on Clarice’s delicate, fair face.

“N-No… We’re just… classmates.” Clarice, who had been so relaxed and at ease only moments earlier, lowered her head and replied softly.
