11 – Chapter 11
Where do you think you can run off to?
[Good morning, a beautiful day with brilliant sunshine. It hasn’t been weather like this in a long while. Wishing you happiness—time to have breakfast.]
That long stretch of text basically took up a third of his phone screen.
Aside from people reporting work to him, it had been a long time since anyone sent him such a heavy message.
Looking at it, he felt a bit unaccustomed.
His brows knitted into a knot, but in the end, he replied to her with a simple: [Thanks];
After that, he got up to wash up.
He didn’t leave the house all day, just holed up at home.
He cooked for himself, lay on the sofa reading for half the day, setting all work aside completely.
Later, he lounged in the courtyard for a while, feeling like something was off somewhere, a restlessness stirring in his heart.
When evening came, he finally pulled out his phone and called a few friends he could talk to, asking them out for drinks.
So that night, a group of four or five brothers all gathered at Charm Dynasty.
The private room was packed with people, and they’d ordered a ton of alcohol, all lined up on the table.
“I swear, you’re the host, and you still show up late.” The moment he pushed the door open, he was met with a burst of complaints.
“Come on, come on, Fu Siyu, you’ve got to down three cups first today.”
“Right, right, right—make him down three cups first. Seriously, we all showed up, and he still dared to be late.”
“Yeah, I’m saying, do you even have any sincerity or not? Huh?”
“Uh…” Bombarded from all sides, he didn’t get angry. Whatever they said, he took it. He closed the door, walked in, and sat down in the center spot.
“Fine, three cups.”
He raised each cup one by one, draining every last drop into his mouth.
The people around him saw how straightforward he was and started egging him on.
Everyone was having a pretty good time.
Midway through, they were all getting a bit tipsy.
The bathroom inside the room was occupied, and he held it in for a while, but the person inside still hadn’t come out.
He simply stood up and headed outside.
“Hey, where are you going?”
“To the bathroom.”
“Then come back soon—don’t think about slipping away.”
“Don’t worry…”
With a brief reply, he pulled the door open and left.
He knew the layout here well, so he walked straight toward the restroom with purpose.
After taking care of business, he was about to head back to the private room.
Just as he turned the corner, he suddenly heard the sound of someone being chased from the other side.
Before he could react, something slammed into him.
“Sorry, sorry, I… I… I didn’t mean it… Please, let me through…”
A woman’s voice came from below him.
That voice was especially familiar… It seemed like…
When the woman’s face lifted up in front of him, Fu Siyu froze on the spot.
It really was her!
She was here! This was the third day since they’d met—the first time at the airport, the second on the roadside, and now, unexpectedly, here at Charm Dynasty.
What was she doing here? And dressed like that!
“Fu Siyu…”
Cheng Lin was stunned too!
“It’s you!”
“You…”
“You little slut, where do you think you’re running? Think you can escape my grasp today? Once I catch you, you’ll be sorry, hehehe…”
Just then, another voice cut through from behind.
Fu Siyu looked up and saw a bald, potbellied old man walking over in his direction.
