” Inside Obito Uchiha’s hideout, a swirling vortex appeared.
Amagiri Ren and Obito emerged before the others once more.
“It seems they reached some kind of agreement.” Tobirama stroked his chin, looking as though he had already figured everything out.
Ren announced that Obito Uchiha had officially joined humanity’s roster for Ragnarok.
“Obito, now that we’re on the same side, shouldn’t you return my Rinnegan?” Madara immediately approached him.
“Madara, stop causing trouble.
I only agreed to fight for humanity.
I never agreed to anything else.” “You brat!
You can only use one Rinnegan properly anyway.
Why not return the other one to me?” “Do you really need me to explain why?” “What is that supposed to mean, Obito?
Do you have a death wish?” Madara and Obito could barely exchange three sentences without starting another fight.
Had Ren not been present to keep them under control, the situation would have already descended into chaos.
Ren glared at them.
Only after both men reluctantly fell silent did he turn toward Obito.
“Is Sasuke Uchiha here?” “Sasuke?” Itachi immediately looked over with unmistakable concern.
“He was here before, but he has already left.” Obito glanced briefly toward Tobirama.
“He learned the truth and left to take revenge on Konoha.” The moment Tobirama heard that yet another young Uchiha intended to destroy Konoha, a frightening killing intent erupted from his body.
Nagato quietly moved a little farther away from him.
“What truth did he learn?” Itachi’s Sharingan fixed sharply on Obito.
“You fed him another one of your lies, didn’t you?” “Itachi, you’ve always been far too suspicious of me.” Obito sounded almost helpless.
“The truth your brother learned was naturally about the crimes Konoha’s leadership committed against the Uchiha Clan.” “What nonsense are you spouting, you former Uchiha dead last?” Tobirama stepped forward angrily.
“When did Konoha ever mistreat the Uchiha Clan?
Your clan was the one that constantly demanded more and refused to be satisfied!” Tobirama would never admit that any of his policies had been flawed.
Hashirama sighed.
He did not know everything that had occurred after his death, but he knew his younger brother well enough to guess how tensions within the village might have developed.
“That’s enough.” Ren interrupted the argument before it could worsen.
“Itachi Uchiha, find your younger brother and bring him here.” “He has been given one of the thirteen places in Ragnarok.” “Ren-sama intends to send Sasuke into the Ragnarok arena?” Itachi became visibly anxious.
“But his current strength is…” In Itachi’s eyes, Sasuke was nowhere near powerful enough.
During their final battle, Itachi had held back to an absurd degree before allowing his younger brother to win.
Sending Sasuke, at his current level, to duel a god would be like sending an insect to be crushed.
“Itachi Uchiha, your greatest mistake has always been underestimating your brother.” Ren sighed and offered no further explanation.
Sasuke had only recently attacked the Five Kage Summit.
He had been badly injured during the fighting and was later rescued by Obito.
At present, Sasuke was only around Kage level.
His potential, however, was among the highest in the entire world.
He was effectively the second person favored by fate, surpassed only by Naruto, and would receive one extraordinary power after another as he continued to grow.
If someone like Sasuke did not qualify for Ragnarok, then very few people did.
“Itachi, do as Ren-sama says.” Madara folded his arms.
“If Ren-sama believes your brother is qualified, there is no reason to question it.” “Understood.” Itachi knew there was little point in doubting Ren’s decision.
With a soft rush of air, he vanished to search for Sasuke.
Ren then summoned Minato back.
A shadow clone would be enough to assist Hiruzen in searching for Jiraiya’s body.
The group’s next destination was the headquarters of the Allied Shinobi Forces, where Ren intended to add Naruto to the roster.
Minato’s presence would make that conversation far easier.
“May I make a suggestion?” Obito suddenly spoke.
“Go ahead.” Ren glanced at him.
“I have already captured seven tailed beasts.
Only the Eight-Tails and Nine-Tails remain.” “If I gather all nine, my power will undergo a complete transformation.
Once that happens, I will certainly be able to defeat one of those gods in Ragnarok.” Obito’s tone was partly joking, but his proposal was also completely serious.
His purpose in starting the Fourth Shinobi World War had been to capture the Eight-Tails and Nine-Tails.
If he could use Ragnarok as an excuse to seize them, his original plan could continue without interruption.
“Obito.” Minato vanished.
An instant later, he appeared directly behind his former student, pressing a kunai against the back of Obito’s head.
“Do you have a death wish?” After returning, Minato had learned that the masked man responsible for Kushina’s death was none other than his former student, Obito Uchiha.
He was already struggling to contain his fury.
Now Obito was suggesting that they hunt the Nine-Tails sealed within Minato’s son.
Was ruining his family once not enough for him?
Minato had used the Flying Thunder God mark he left on Obito years ago to appear behind him instantly.
For the first time since joining the group, Obito felt a genuine threat of death.
Two drops of cold sweat slid down his face beneath the mask.
