Naruto: IDE: Chapter 8: Class Trial The next day, most of the students were visibly more nervous.

Yesterday’s examination had been important, but it hadn’t been decisive.

If their results today were too poor, even an excellent score from yesterday would mean nothing.

They would still be eliminated.

In the end, the Ninja World valued strength.

Theoretical knowledge couldn’t save your life on the battlefield.

As the saying went, whoever had the bigger fist had the right to speak.

That was why today’s examination mattered so much to the students who dreamed of becoming Ninja.

Naturally, they were far more tense than they had been yesterday.

But in Uchiha Shin’s eyes, all this anxiety was unnecessary.

If this were peacetime, perhaps the examination really would be strict.

Failing might mean repeating a grade and taking the test again the following year.

But what time was it now?

Even if a student’s strength was terrible, they would probably still let him pass.

If individual strength wasn’t enough, then sheer numbers would make up for it.

In the eyes of the Village’s higher-ups, these insignificant lives weren’t worth much.

They were tools.

Tools used to achieve someone’s ambitions.

As for the slogans, ideals, and Will of Fire that filled the Academy’s lessons, Shin saw them differently.

They were nothing more than methods for controlling those at the bottom.

“Saito Ki, step forward!” Sugiki Keitai stood in the arena and called out the next name.

“Teacher.” Saito Ki walked forward and answered quietly.

“Begin.

You may perform any one of the Three Body Technique.

Passing the requirement will count as a pass.” This year’s Three Body Technique assessment wasn’t assigned by the teachers.

The students were allowed to choose the technique they were best at.

Clearly, that was much easier.

For example, if someone had mastered the Clone Technique but was only average at the Transformation Technique and Body Replacement Technique, they could simply choose the Clone Technique for the examination.

If the teacher selected the technique for them, someone unfamiliar with that student’s abilities might accidentally pick the one they were weakest at.

It was hard to believe the teachers didn’t understand something so obvious.

They simply chose not to interfere.

Combined with yesterday’s unusually relaxed standards, it wasn’t difficult to figure out what was happening.

The Konoha front lines were stretched thin.

They desperately needed this batch of students to enter the battlefield.

The problem was that these children had never experienced the cruelty of war.

Once they reached the front lines, how many would actually survive?

Those weren’t questions Konoha’s higher-ups needed to worry about.

And that was the tragedy awaiting this entire batch of students.

“Uchiha Shin.” Sugiki Keitai called his name.

Shin pulled his thoughts back and calmly stepped forward.

“When you’re ready, begin.” The assessing teacher had already received orders from above.

All of these students had to pass.

He was also an Uchiha himself, but even if Uchiha Shin performed terribly, he couldn’t ignore the orders of Konoha’s higher-ups.

Hearing this, Shin nodded.

To conceal his true strength, he deliberately slowed down and formed three hand seals.

A clone appeared beside him.

“Good.

You pass.” Sugiki Keitai nodded with satisfaction, recorded Shin’s score, and waved his hand.

“Alright, you can go.” “Yes, Teacher.” Shin answered calmly before turning around and returning to his seat.

“He’s so handsome!” Several girls stared at Shin with flushed faces.

The Uchiha Clan was known for producing good-looking people, and Shin was one of the more striking ones.

Before, his poor grades had overshadowed his appearance.

Now that he had suddenly performed well, the girls’ attention immediately shifted toward him.

The boys had a different reaction.

They were annoyed.

One clone?

What’s so impressive about that?

One after another, they began pushing themselves harder, as if they were competing with Shin.

Some summoned two clones.

Others summoned three.

They just wanted to prove they were better than Shin and restore some balance to their pride.

A few hours later, the examination ended.

As expected, everyone passed.

Three days later, they would return to the Ninja Academy for the team assignment trial.

Each student began imagining the moment they would officially become a Ninja.

Shin, meanwhile, simply headed home.

He wasn’t particularly interested in the team assignment trial.

As for which teacher he would be assigned to, he had no expectations.

His mind was still focused on one thing.

Getting stronger.

The Three Body Technique had reached a bottleneck, so Shin spent the next three days focusing entirely on Fire Release.

As a C-rank offensive Ninjutsu, each use consumed far more Energy than the Three Body Technique.

Even if Shin created ten clones at once, the total Energy consumption was only three points.

That was the frightening part of the Primordial Chaos Heaven Devouring Art.

The Chakra he cultivated was far purer than ordinary Chakra.

His Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique had now reached Level 5.

At this level, Shin could enhance the technique by five tiers.

Each tier consumed five Energy points.

At the fifth tier, the technique could unleash five times his normal power.

Shin’s current Combat Power was 2.2.

Five times that was enough to threaten a Chunin.

Of course, threatening a Chunin didn’t mean he could defeat one.

He was still far from possessing the explosive power of a true Chunin.

Even so, Shin was already extremely satisfied.

He had only been cultivating for a little over a month.

In that short time, he had broken through to Genin, comprehended Fire Release, and gained the ability to injure a Chunin.

Before his transmigration, something like this would have been impossible to imagine.

Boom!

A fireball shot from Uchiha Shin’s mouth.

It expanded rapidly as it flew, swelling into a Great Fireball five meters across before crashing toward the calm surface of the lake.

Boom!

The lake exploded.

A massive wave surged upward, water mist filled the air, and ripples raced across the surface in layer after layer.

The scorching heat spread through the water.

The center of the lake began to boil, bubbles rising rapidly before bursting one after another.

Shin’s heart nearly jumped out of his chest.

Several days of brutal training hadn’t been wasted.

The Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique now possessed considerable destructive power.

More importantly, he finally had a reliable offensive trump card.

Three days later, early in the morning.

Uchiha Shin stood before the mirror, straightening his clothes before tying his Konoha forehead protector around his right arm.

From the moment he put on the Konoha forehead protector, he became a true Ninja.

A Konoha Genin.

Uchiha Shin.

He left the Uchiha Clan compound and headed toward the Ninja Academy.

With every step, there seemed to be a faint killing intent surrounding him.

Perhaps it was because his mindset had changed.

A little over a month ago, he had been weak and helpless, an ordinary student who ranked dead last in his class.

Now, he was a Genin.

He was graduating.

And he was about to step onto a battlefield where people lived or died by the blade.

The difference between those two states of mind was enormous.

Whether he lived or died would depend on his own ability.

Along the way, many female students stared at Shin when they saw the Konoha forehead protector on his arm.

Several couldn’t help gasping in surprise.

The civilian girls, in particular, admired strength.

And Shin was handsome on top of that.

It was difficult for them not to be drawn to him.

Shin himself didn’t pay them any attention.

First, his current situation left no room for such distractions.

Second, he had no interest in young girls.

He was a transmigrator with an adult’s mindset, after all.

After entering the Academy, Shin found a seat toward the back of the classroom.

He rested his elbows on the desk, propped his chin on his hands, and quietly watched the familiar yet unfamiliar faces of his graduating classmates.

Three days ago, they had still been Academy students.

Today, they were about to become Genin.

Shin’s eyes moved across the classroom as he silently wondered who he would be assigned to.
