NARUTO: IDE:Chapter 9: 7th Squad Just as the students were starting to grow restless, footsteps sounded from the hallway outside.

The classroom fell silent at once.

Everyone turned toward the door, eyes fixed on the entrance as they wondered which teacher would be leading their team.Full novel: NARUTO: INFINITE DOJUTSU EVOLUTION — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

A young teacher soon pushed the door open.

A roster was tucked in his hand.

It wasn’t Sugiki Keitai.

Shin recognized him after a moment.

He was the instructor from another class, Taniguchi Ichiban, if he remembered correctly.

“Students, quiet down.” Taniguchi Ichiban walked to the podium and clapped his hands twice.

His voice was gentle, lacking the stern edge Sugiki Keitai usually carried.

“My name is Taniguchi Ichiban.

Most of you should know me already.

But that doesn’t matter, because I won’t be your squad leader.” “Haha!” Laughter immediately filled the classroom.

This teacher was pretty amusing.

Taniguchi Ichiban raised both hands and pressed them downward, motioning for everyone to settle down.

“First, congratulations on passing the graduation assessment and becoming true Ninja.” He paused, letting the excitement settle.

“I’m sure you all know why you’re here today.

This is the team assignment.” “Each team will consist of three people and will be led by an experienced Jonin.

From now on, you’ll work together to carry out missions.” His expression became slightly more serious.

“Your teammates will become the people closest to you on the battlefield.

The comrades you trust with your back.” The students immediately began looking around.

Everyone wanted to know who they would be paired with.

Team assignments were decided by the Village’s higher-ups.

The students had no say in it.

No matter who they wanted to work with, their wishes meant nothing once the roster had been decided.

Taniguchi Ichiban saw the growing excitement in the room and smiled.

“Alright, I know you’re all dying to find out who your teammates are.

I’ll announce the teams now.

Keep quiet while I read the list.” The room went silent.

Team assignments were a big deal.

A strong team was more likely to receive better missions and gain the Village’s attention.

Nobody wanted to be stuck with teammates who would drag them down.

All eyes turned toward the podium.

“Team 1…” Taniguchi Ichiban picked up the roster.

“Ishida Hanakago, Masuda Sota, Yamanaka Naoko.” “Team 2: Nishimura Kuro, Takeda Hi, Maruyama Haru.” “Team 3…” Names continued to roll off his tongue.

Some students clenched their fists in excitement.

Others lowered their heads, clearly unhappy with their assigned teammates.

Yet no one dared interrupt.

Soon, Shin heard his own name.

“Team 7: Uchiha shin, Ito Miyuki, Abero.” Shin’s eyes shifted toward the other students.

Almost at the same moment, two people looked back at him.

His teammates.

One boy and one girl.

Shin raised an eyebrow.

It seemed that nearly every team had a female student.

Maybe it was for balance, or perhaps someone in the Village really believed that men and women working together made missions less tiring.

His gaze settled on the boy.

He looked honest and straightforward, with a somewhat simple expression.

Shin didn’t recognize him at all.

He was probably from another class.

The girl was more carefree than most, with short red hair and an outfit that made her lively personality obvious.

Shin had heard of Ito Miyuki.

She was well known throughout the Academy—beautiful, strong, and especially popular among the boys.

Her personality, however, was said to be rather wild.

He had also heard that her father was a Jonin.

Shin narrowed his eyes and checked the information on his two new teammates.

(Abero, Genin.

Combat Power: 1.5.

Skilled in Earth Release.

Honest and straightforward.

Easy to deceive.) (Ito Miyuki, Genin.

Combat Power: 2.8.

Skilled in Fire Release.

Exceptionally beautiful.

If you like her, you can take the initiative and pursue her.) Shin’s mouth twitched.

This system was getting more shameless by the day.

Still, these two teammates weren’t bad.

One specialized in Earth Release, the other in Fire Release.

One could handle defense while the other focused on offense, and neither had particularly low Combat Power.

It seemed the Konoha higher-ups had taken his Uchiha identity into consideration when making the assignments.

They hadn’t placed anyone with poor potential on his team.

The other classes were a mixed bag.

Some teams were strong, while others were noticeably weaker.

Shin didn’t care about them.

He only cared about his own team.

As long as these two didn’t drag him down, that was enough.

As for becoming close comrades, he would rather forget it.

The first priority was surviving the battlefield.

Getting too attached to others before that was asking for trouble.

By then, Taniguchi Ichiban had finished reading the roster.

“Alright, get to know each other.

Your squad leader should be here soon.

Once he arrives, just follow his instructions.” Taniguchi Ichiban folded the roster and walked out of the classroom.

The moment he disappeared through the door, the classroom exploded with noise.

Students jumped from their seats and hurried toward their newly assigned teammates, introducing themselves and exchanging excited words.

They would share the same team.

They would fight together.

They would become the comrades who trusted each other with their lives.

At their age, many of them genuinely believed that.

Shin knew better.

Perhaps everyone started with the same innocent thoughts.

But once they stepped onto the battlefield and witnessed what war did to people, those beliefs would slowly crumble.

The ideals they once shouted about would become distant memories.

Self-interest would take their place.

When survival was on the line, people could abandon almost anything.

So what was a little thing like friendship worth?

Maybe that thought was too cold.

But war had never cared whether anyone was ready for it.

“Hello.

My name is Abero.” A boy stood before him.

His skin was slightly dark, and his expression was earnest as he introduced himself.

Shin pulled his thoughts back and stood.

“Uchiha shin.

Nice to meet you.

From today onward, we’re teammates.” “You’re Shin.” The girl in the blue combat uniform walked over, her chin slightly raised and her eyes carrying a hint of pride.

“I’m Ito Miyuki.

I know both of you.

Especially you, Uchiha shin.

I’ve heard you’re the dead last in your class.” She looked Shin up and down.

“I hope you don’t drag us down later.” Her words weren’t pleasant, but they were blunt.

There was no attempt to sugarcoat them, which fit her straightforward personality.

“I’ll do my best.” “Good.” Miyuki grinned and slapped a hand against her chest.

“And if anyone bullies you, just give them my name.

My name works wonders!” She laughed loudly.

Shin and Abero exchanged a glance before smiling along.

Neither took her words seriously.

Once the introductions were over, the three sat together.

Miyuki deliberately took the seat between them, crossed her legs, and leaned back like an older sister looking after two younger brothers.

Shin shook his head with a helpless smile.

She was certainly pretty, but her personality was fiery and aggressive.

It didn’t match her name at all.

Maybe her parents had picked the wrong name.

For the rest of their wait, Miyuki kept talking.

She proudly recounted her various exploits at the Academy, especially the fights she’d supposedly dominated.

The meaning behind all her stories was obvious.

She wanted to be the boss.

From now on, Shin and Abero were expected to listen to her.

As they talked, Shin gradually learned more about Miyuki’s family.

Her background was actually quite good.

She wasn’t from one of the major clans, but both of her parents were Jonin.

That alone put her in a better position than most children from the great clans.

Take Shin, for example.

He was an Uchiha, yet he had almost no personal freedom.

His parents had died serving the clan and the Village, and the clan hadn’t given him any special treatment afterward.

From that perspective, his situation was even worse than Miyuki’s.

Abero’s family was different again.

Both of his parents were Chunin.

They were technical specialists who worked for the Barrier Corps.

Miyuki tilted her head toward Shin.

“Shin, what about your parents…?” —- 📚 Want to read the next 30 chapters RIGHT NOW?
