Konoha Anbu old archives, second basement level.

This damn place had been abandoned for three years, but Itachi knew the way like the back of his hand.

He had obtained the highest clearance here when he was eleven.

The heavy iron door was pushed open.

Inside were rows of dust-covered scroll racks, neatly arranged by year.

Itachi walked straight to the fourth row, pulled out a dossier labeled “Tracking Jutsu · Retired,” and flipped directly to the seventh page.

The page depicted diagrams of six tracking techniques Konoha had once used.

The first three were standard Anbu issue, while the last three bore a glaring red stamp: “Special Department · Not for Public Release.” Itachi brought the speck of dust from his fingertip closer.

He wasn’t smelling it; he was comparing the residual Chakra structure with his Sharingan.

The fourth diagram.

A perfect match.

Below the diagram was a note in small print: “For internal investigation use only.

Developed by the department under the direct jurisdiction of Danzo Shimura.” Itachi closed the dossier with an expressionless face.

Case closed.

The one who contacted Uchiha Yuya wasn’t the Third Hokage’s Anbu, nor the radical faction of the Uchiha, and certainly not a spy from another village.

It was Root.

And they had used Root’s exclusive tracking technique, the kind of’sneaky’ seal that even the regular Anbu army wasn’t qualified to touch.

The facts were already laid out on the table.

Before the Uchiha Clan Downfall plan officially started, Danzo had, behind everyone’s back, sent people to contact a member of the Uchiha clan.

The first probe, the second cleanup, the third application of the tracking seal.

All three actions had crossed the red line he had drawn.

This was absolutely not in the plan.

From beginning to end, the annihilation scheme was supposed to be carried out solely by him, Uchiha Itachi.

Danzo’s task was only to clean up the mess afterward.

During the planning phase, Danzo shouldn’t have touched a single hair on an Uchiha!

Yet he had touched them.

Why?

Was a waste with pathetic amounts of Chakra worth Danzo making three moves?

Unless, what Danzo truly cared about wasn’t Yuya at all.

He was testing—testing whether he could manipulate the survivors of the Uchiha at will, outside of the plan.

If Yuya could be marked or even erased at will, then what about Sasuke?

That blood relative who was ten thousand times more important than Yuya, the younger brother Danzo had sworn at the meeting would be “properly settled.” Itachi had believed him at the time.

But now, the expiration date of that promise had shattered into a pile of debris.

If even a marginal waste could be disposed of at will, then after he left Konoha, Danzo would only need to move a finger to turn Sasuke into a living test subject on an operating table.

Itachi walked out of the archives, the iron door closing heavily behind him.

He felt no anger, nor the hysteria of betrayal.

He simply mentally cleared the credibility of the four words “Danzo’s promise” to zero.

At the same time, he understood one thing: he had to add another deadly lock to Sasuke’s future.

But before that, he had to teach a certain overstepping old dog a lesson.

When Itachi returned to the airspace above the clan grounds, the horizon was already turning pale.

He didn’t go to find Yuya, didn’t go to find the Third Hokage, and certainly didn’t go to file a report with the Anbu.

He chose the most direct and disgusting path—the Root covert line.

Anyone who had dealt with Root knew that Danzo had an independent, shady communication network.

Itachi had spent four years in the Anbu and could find the end of this line with his eyes closed.

He didn’t need a direct confrontation; just a single message was enough.

“Do not touch the Uchiha outside the plan.” No signature, no explanation, no threats.

But Danzo would definitely understand.

Because the number of people in all of Konoha who knew of the “plan” could be counted on one hand.

And the only one who could force a message into Root through the covert line was him, Uchiha Itachi.

…

Root underground base.

Before dawn, Danzo received this note.

The communication node had been severed; the source couldn’t be traced.

But there was no need to trace it anyway.

Danzo sat in his grand armchair, his thumb rubbing the paper surface fiercely, his single eye revealing a chilling coldness.

Itachi knew.

Root’s little tricks were all under his nose.

Danzo wasn’t actually surprised; he had been prepared for exposure when he sent people to test the waters.

But what frustrated him was that three operations had yielded absolutely nothing, and instead, he had handed the evidence of his overstepping directly into Itachi’s hands!

The question was—how did Itachi know?

Anbu records?

At most, they would know “someone came,” but they would never be able to find out “it was Root.” The only thing that could nail “Root” to the pillar of shame was that tracking seal.

Danzo’s hand gripping his cane tightened abruptly.

If Itachi could recognize the tracking seal, it meant he was on the scene at the time!

Itachi had been secretly acting as a bodyguard for that waste all along!

This brought them back to that deadlock.

What the hell was Uchiha Yuya?

A lunatic?

Impossible.

Itachi wasn’t idle enough to stand guard for a combat-power-of-five waste.

A pawn of a third-party force?

Root had investigated three times, and this kid was as clean as a blank sheet of paper.

Danzo couldn’t figure it out even if he racked his brain.

This fifteen-year-old dead last was like a bottomless black hole.

All the probes he threw in vanished without a trace.

“Raise Yuya’s danger level.” Danzo’s hoarse voice echoed in the dark room.

“Upgrade from observation target to extremely high-risk variable.

Before the clan annihilation plan is completed, no one is allowed to touch him.” A subordinate’s inquiry came from the darkness: “Then Itachi’s warning…” “Pretend you didn’t see it.” Danzo stood up with his cane and snorted coldly.

“He only dared to send a message, which means he has reservations.

This is called containment.

As long as the plan is still on, he can’t turn against me.” He paused for two seconds, a bloodthirsty calculation flashing in his eyes.

“But carve this name into your brains.

Uchiha Yuya.

After the clan annihilation, if this kid is still alive—his processing priority is higher than Sasuke’s.” …

Yuya’s small courtyard.

The day had completely dawned.

The morning sunlight crept in through the broken window paper, hitting Yuya’s face just right.

He opened his eyes, stared at the moldy ceiling, and stretched widely.

The system interface popped up on time.

[Task Complete!] [Judgment criteria: Key observer “Uchiha Itachi” has verified the technique, confirming that the person who contacted the host belongs to Root.

Task objective achieved.] [Rewards being issued—] [Reward 1: Single Tomoe Sharingan (Activated, currently capable of significantly enhancing dynamic vision and Chakra visualization)] [Reward 2: Chunin-level Taijutsu Basics (Muscle memory implanting…

Progress 100%)] [Reward 3: Advanced Chakra Perception (Passive skill, 360-degree perception of Chakra sources within 500 meters, comes with an enemy-friend identification radar)] [Note: The Sharingan is directly activated by the system with no mental energy consumption.

For subsequent upgrades, please continue to court death and complete tasks.] Yuya closed his eyes, and a tingling sensation of pleasure instantly spread throughout his body.

A warm current surged deep within his muscles, and the lightness in his limbs convinced him that even if he were asked to do parkour on the Hokage Rock now, he could walk as if on flat ground.

Behind his head, a “panoramic hack” was directly activated.

Within 500 meters, the Chakra of the patrol team at the alley entrance, the aura of the uncle next door cooking, and even the Anbu suppressing their breathing on a distant roof, all became clear points of light.

As for the Sharingan—Yuya didn’t dare to open his eyes to show off the effects.

Nonsense, a waste who couldn’t even perform the Three Body Technique properly, suddenly showing off red eye disease early in the morning?

If that wasn’t self-exposure, what was?

This trump card had to be saved for ambushing people.

From confessing to Lord Itachi until now, it had been exactly three days.

Three tasks, and he had scammed his way into a max-level Three Body Technique, Chunin-level Chakra, passive substitution, max-level Body Flicker, mental resilience, Single Tomoe, Chunin Taijutsu, and advanced perception.

This wave was truly a massive win!

From an NPC waiting to die, he had stubbornly survived into an all-round hexagon warrior who could run, hide, and fight.

Although he still had to kneel when facing the two gods, Itachi and Obito, at least he now had bargaining chips to sit at the table and the confidence to pack up and run!

The system interface flickered again.

The forum had refreshed.

A new post, bolded and pinned, appeared on the screens of the Myriad Worlds’ silly netizens— [Original Poster: Uchiha Yuya] [Title: Urgent!

Less than 24 hours until the Night of the Clan Annihilation!

Asking: How to disappear legally and decently under the noses of two Mangekyo Sharingan big shots?!

Waiting online, very urgent!]
