Auuuuuuuu!

Two silver eyes, like the moonlight, opened in a realm of deep night.

The sky was consumed by eternal darkness, and above, eight moons of different shapes formed a celestial arc.Full novel: Soul Absorber: The Strongest Lineage — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

They illuminated a young wolf, with pale ivory fur and standing just over three meters tall.

On his forehead, a small, curved silver mark had formed.

Almost imperceptible.

“What is happening?

Why is the Alpha calling us?” The youthful voice escaped from fangs as white as alabaster.

Alpha?

What does that mean?

Another voice sounded within his mind…

Completely confused.

Just a few seconds ago, some things had happened, and now he had awakened here, but he struggled to understand what it was.

Auuuuuuuu!

Auuuuuuuu!

Other howls answered like an opera.

The fur on the young wolf’s body stood on end.

“I have to run!

Quickly!

Something is wrong!” His voice echoed with alarming concern, and his small yet muscular legs tore into the ground.

Shit!

What speed!

And why does everything look smaller?

The one dwelling within his mind soon realized why his field of vision had changed so much.

He was now more than three meters above the ground, and the world was rushing past his eyes at incredible speed.

Soon, patches of white as pure as his own fur entered his field of vision.

“Nova!

Stay by our side and be careful!” The voice came from a she-wolf much larger than the young wolf, Nova.

She wore countless ornaments made of some kind of silver metal that possessed a glow of its own.

On her forehead was a Waning Gibbous Moon.

One phase after the full moon.

She had a much older appearance, and her voice carried a parental warmth.

The young wolf felt affection, comfort, and belonging as soon as he noticed more white shapes approaching.

Ah, that’s it.

My name is Nova…

But why does this feel so strange?

It sounds wrong…

Nova continued running with the wind against his muzzle, and soon he was among six other wolves.

Each of them had a silver moon on their forehead, representing a phase of the moon.

He began to lose himself in the sensation of freedom that came from running freely through fields, forests, and mountains.

If young Nova had paid more attention, he would have noticed a crystalline blue screen with shades of purple appearing in the corner of his vision.

[Lunafang Affinity Increased] “We’re getting close.

Everyone, be careful.

And, Nova, pay attention to everything around you.

Stay behind if necessary.

We’ll protect you.” This time, another wolf spoke to Nova.

He was twice his size, but somewhat hunched.

Even so, he stood six meters tall, and despite his old muscles, no one there dared disrespect him.

“Understood, Waning!

I’ll be careful!” Nova’s youthful voice almost came out as a timid growl, but the old wolf’s slight nod of approval and snort were more than enough for the entire pack to give him approving looks.

With every passing minute, the young wolf left that uncomfortable feeling in his chest further behind.

And he felt more at home among his brothers.

After a few more minutes of running, they climbed a steep mountain.

His brothers had already reached the summit, but Nova remained just behind them, letting out exhausted breaths.

“They always reach the top before me…” The young wolf’s voice was met with a few laughs, but also with other worried gazes wandering across the horizon.

Wait…

How do I know that I always come in last?

The doubts lingering in the young wolf’s thoughts died when he beheld the view his brothers already had before them.

Peaks of countless mountains.

Rugged terrain reaching such heights that a cold mist covered the abysses below like a liquid mantle.

With his back to the pack, a powerful wolf finished his howl.

He was the largest wolf Nova had ever seen.

Seven long meters of pure power.

A terrifying vitality was displayed by his fur, which shone like moonlight.

On his forehead, almost as if it had been painted with fresh ink, a beautiful Full Moon illuminated the surrounding area.

Nova’s blood boiled.

Why am I feeling angry?

His mind tried to recover his memories, but they seemed weak.

Vague.

And soon, they slipped away like grains of sand between his fingers.

When the howl ended…

The light came.

Not the moonlight.

Not the cold.

Not the shadows.

But the light.

The heat.

The Sun.

Like paint spreading across the horizon, a golden light tore through the sky where the moons reigned.

Nova could feel its resonance echoing through his blood.

An aversion to that light.

A deep hatred for the Sun that stole his Eternal Moonlight.

Soon, half of the mountain peaks were consumed by the heat and light of the sun.

And on the horizon, patches of pure darkness painted the landscape.

A great black wolf, more than ten meters tall, led the march and flew toward the same mountain peak as the Full Moon.

His fur was so dark that the light was absorbed like a liquid seeking its home.

Ornaments made of a metal as golden as the Sun shone intensely across his powerful muscles.

And on his forehead…

The light was blinding.

Aggressive.

Oppressive.

Devastating.

Nova’s eyes could barely comprehend the shape of a magnificent sun.

What is happening?

Why are thousands of Solar Wolves marching here?

At that moment, the mind did not even realize that his thoughts had begun to shift into the same youthful tone as Nova’s.

Tension rose when, at last, the two wolves faced each other atop the highest peak of that sea of mist.

At that moment, the heavens split in two.

The world of oppressive sunlight and the world of dark moonlight.

The clash caused shades of gray to fall like cascades, while the mists below began to boil.

The moment Cheia’s silver eyes met the golden eyes of the gigantic black wolf…

Blood boiled throughout every pack on both sides.

A deep desire coursed through Nova’s veins.

An alien hatred began to consume him, and with every passing second, his body became more bestial.

I need to kill him…

My brothers…

Damn the Solar Kingdom!

You traitors!
