“As Devison High School believes in all-round development, every student is encouraged to participate in at least one club.” Banners had already been placed across the campus.

Cricket Club.

Basketball Club.

Music Club.

Photography Club.

Literature Club.

Cooking Club.

Student Council.

Dozens of clubs filled the central courtyard.

Deep grinned.

“This is my favorite day of the year.” Alya smiled.

“You say that about every event.” “Because every event is my favorite.” — Scene 2 – Cricket Club Trials After classes…

The school ground was crowded.

Nearly sixty students had gathered for Cricket Club selections.

The club captain, Aditya Rao (12th), stood with a clipboard.

Beside him stood the vice-captain.

“No showing off.” “We’re looking for discipline and teamwork.” Dhruv adjusted his gloves.

A senior tossed him a bat.

“Let’s see.” First ball.

CRACK!

A clean cover drive.

Second ball.

Defended perfectly.

Third ball.

Pulled toward square leg.

Several seniors exchanged glances.

Aditya nodded slightly.

“Good basics.” Dhruv smiled.

“I still have a lot to improve.” Aditya looked at him.

“Good answer.” — Scene 3 – Literature Club Meanwhile…

Mitsuri entered the Literature Club room.

Books filled every shelf.

Poems decorated the walls.

A senior girl welcomed everyone.

“Welcome.” “I’m Ananya, the Literature Club president.” “We don’t just read books.” “We write.” “We discuss.” “We organize competitions.” Mitsuri’s eyes sparkled.

“This place is beautiful…” She filled out the registration form.

Ananya smiled.

“You like writing?” Mitsuri nodded.

“I keep a journal.” “Every day.” Ananya’s smile widened.

“Then you’ll fit in perfectly.” — Scene 4 – Student Council The Student Council room was surprisingly quiet.

Alya stood with a few other applicants.

A senior adjusted her glasses.

“I’m Ishita, Student Council President.” “Being in the council isn’t about authority.” “It’s about responsibility.” Alya smiled.

“I understand.” The interview began.

“Why do you want to join?” Alya answered calmly.

“I want to improve the school.” Ishita wrote something down.

“Good.” — Scene 5 – Media Club Deep entered the Media Club.

Cameras.

Microphones.

Editing computers.

His eyes lit up.

A senior handed him a DSLR.

“You know photography?” “A little.” “You know editing?” Deep grinned.

“A lot.” The senior laughed.

“We’ll test that.” Deep whispered to himself, “This place is heaven.” — Scene 6 – After School The five met near the school gate.

Deep raised both hands dramatically.

“Mission successful.” Alya folded her arms.

“You just joined a club.” “It was an emotional journey.” Dhruv looked at Mitsuri.

“So…” “Literature Club?” She nodded happily.

“And Cooking Club.” “You?” “Cricket.” “I guessed.” Everyone laughed.

— Scene 7 – The Friendly Rival As Dhruv prepared to leave…

A tall student walked over.

“You bat well.” Dhruv turned.

The boy extended his hand.

“I’m Yash Malhotra.” “Eleventh.” “Different section.” “Cricket Club.” Dhruv shook his hand.

“Dhruv.” Yash smiled confidently.

“Let’s compete.” Dhruv smiled back.

“I’d like that.” No arrogance.

No hostility.

Just healthy competition.

Aditya watched from a distance.

“Those two…” “They’ll push each other.” — Scene 8 – Society Cricket Evening.

Sunrise Residency.

Children played cricket in the open ground.

Deep immediately grabbed a bat.

“I’m opening.” “You opened yesterday!” “So?” Dhruv laughed.

“I’ll bowl.” Mitsuri and Alya sat on a nearby bench.

Mitsuri watched quietly.

Dhruv wasn’t trying to impress anyone.

He celebrated children’s good shots.

He laughed when someone got him out.

He even let the smallest kid bat first.

Mitsuri smiled.

“He really loves cricket.” Alya nodded.

“It’s his favorite thing.” “Even more than studying.” — Scene 9 – A Movie Invitation As everyone prepared to leave…

Deep suddenly clapped.

“I have an idea.” Everyone looked at him.

“Saturday.” “Movie.” Dhruv looked confused.

“Why?” “Because friends watch movies.” Alya nodded.

“It has been a while.” Mitsuri smiled.

“I’d like to come.” Deep looked at Dhruv.

“Majority wins.” Dhruv laughed.

“…Fine.” Deep quietly celebrated inside his head.

Operation Pink Hair continues.

— Scene 10 – The Journal That night…

Mitsuri opened her journal.

> June 14 Today I joined the Literature Club and the Cooking Club.

Dhruv joined Cricket Club.

When he talks about cricket…

His eyes become brighter.

I think everyone has something they truly love.

Maybe…

That’s why I like listening when he talks about it.

She placed a tiny cricket bat sticker in the corner of the page.

Then smiled to herself before switching off the lamp.

Outside, the lights of Sunrise Residency flickered softly as another ordinary day quietly became an unforgettable memory.
