Time continued moving forward, as it waited for no one.

Two years have passed, which marks the 6th year since Sukuna has been reborn into this world.

Meaning he has to receive his compulsory education.Full novel: The Double-faced Specter — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The day he turned 6, however, was also the day that his younger brother was taken to the same doctors clinic that his parents took him to.

Sukuna didn’t follow, since it was his first day at school, and the Quirk tests would take almost as long as his own time spent in primary school for the day.

There was nothing to talk about, really, except for the fact that there was a blond boy who kept prodding a dark haired boy, wanting him to “open up” or something along those lines.

Sukuna was too bored to even listen in to the childrens’ conversations around him, and each time a child tried to initiate one with him, they would hesitate because of his eyes.

Yeah, mutation quirks weren’t exactly looked at in a good light, to say the least.

Sukuna has spent most of his time training his body, or as much training as he could do, anyways, which consisted of him walking around the city that his house was in.

Cardio was the only thing he could realistically do, since he could potentially stunt his own growth if he pushed his young body too hard for now.

After returning home, he noticed the dark atmosphere in the house.

Strange..

Sukuna couldn’t put it into words, but it almost felt like a murder had happened in the previously warm and welcoming house.

When he walked into the living room, however, it all became clear from the moment he laid his eyes on his father’s face.

Hisashi looked absolutely livid, spouting curses and shouting at Inko and Izuku, as if they had done a great sin.

Sukuna simply walked in-between them, his presence causing Hisashi to freeze and lighten up.

Hisashi stopped cursing, speaking to Sukuna instead.

“There he is!

My pride and joy.” he spoke with such glee in his voice that it almost disturbed Sukuna.

His mother held Izuku by his hand, helping the younger boy calm down from his sobbing, as Sukuna put two and two together..

Oh.

Oh no.

His brother was quirkless, wasn’t he?

Sukuna knew.

He knew that this was a possibility, yet he couldn’t imagine it falling on someone as pure as Izuku.

Especially at such a young age.

He turned his face towards Hisashi, remembering the particular cursing he shouted at his mother and younger brother, and promptly walked towards Hisashi.

Hisashi’s face remained bright, unknowing of the fate that was about to befell him, as his own son suddenly jumped, punching him in the face with as much force as he could muster.

Enhanced by Cursed Energy, the blow knocked Hisashi off of his feet and dislocated his jaw, making the man scream in pain and surprise.

“Ugh!” his grunt echoed through the empty house, his glare turning murderous at Sukuna.

Hisashi said nothing, he only got up, somehow already having all of his clothes and whatnot packed, leaving the house with a mentally broken Izuku, a heartbroken Inko and an absolutely livid Sukuna.

Sukuna didn’t allow his rage to show on his face, turning around and helping his remaining family for now, as it was the only thing a powerless child like him could do.

It was then, that Sukuna had the resolve to become a hero in this world.

Not to save anybody, nor for a righteous reason either, it was simply to help his mother raise Izuku, since Hisashi’s absence would mean his mother would have to work twice as hard to just keep them fed and clothed.

Not to mention the education fees, which made him glad that he wasn’t reborn into this world with his previous mindset, since he would’ve just immolated Hisashi in the face right then and there.

More time passed, as Sukuna took odd jobs here and there to just keep his family afloat and help his mother.

Izuku began his own compulsory education, meaning that Sukuna was now eight years old and Izuku was six.

Sukuna didn’t need that much sleep, and no, the lack of sleep wouldn’t affect his growth as much since he could use Reverse Cursed Technique to revitalize himself.

It was at this age, that Sukuna began to train in basic combat, doing nothing more than practicing a few punches and kicks for 5 times a week.

Before you ask, he himself knew this was too much workload for his young, developing body, which was why he abused the hell out of Reverse Cursed Technique to offset the cons of such work.

He also continued to refine his control over his Cursed Energy, since in his past life, specifically his final battle, he hadn’t had the time to delve into how much deeper his understanding of said Energy had become.

He was sure now that he was as strong as a theoretically 10-finger version of him would be, which meant he was halfway to his prime already.

Sukuna was sure he was gonna become stronger in this new reality, which was good, since he saw how much stronger the heroes were in this particular world as well.

There was All Might, who could change the weather or cause a hurricane with a punch, which excited Sukuna once he saw him for the first time on TV.

His mother simply took his excitement as the only childish thing he did, since he was always “too mature” for his age, or whatever his mother liked to say.

Inko was a kind woman, whom he was motivated to help every single day.

He didn’t forget to train Izuku as well, since his younger brother clearly hadn’t let go of his own dream of becoming a hero.

Sukuna respected that, in a world full of people who could literally crush buildings with a flick, Izuku still wanted to fight against them despite his massive disadvantage.

Well, Sukuna was sure that his younger brother would no doubt make a fantastic hero, since his conviction and ideals were as indomitable as Itadori Yuji’s were in his past life.

It was scary, how much his younger brother reminded him of the brat..

Disregarding that thought, Sukuna returned to cleaning the floor of a barbershop in the new city he lived in, which was called Musutafu.

He and his mother rented an apartment here because of how affordable it was, since their old house’s bills couldn’t be maintained by Hisashi anymore.

He worked at odd jobs here and there, collecting about 5,000-10,000 yen in a month and entrusting it with his mother.

He himself had no need for money, as he only wanted to use it to help Izuku grow into a fine hero one day.

He had made two friends in this life, as well.

The blond haired boy in his class, who’s name was Mirio Togata, and the shy dark haired boy, who’s name was Tamaki Amajiki.

They were good kids, so he helped them refine their quirks even further, thanks to Mirio amusing him one day when he tried to show off his quirk.

His own Cursed Energy efficiency in particular had become so precise, that he could use Domain Expansion for more than 5 times in a day.

How much more, you ask?

Well, he didn’t know, since he was still wary of testing it out.

He would only test it out once he reached the age of fourteen, he decided.

Sukuna picked up the garbage bag that was full of shaved hair, walking out of the barbershop, as he secretly used a minute application of Cleave to shred the bag into nothing.

Walking back into the shop, he was greeted by the smiling young man who owned the shop itself, giving him his pay since he was finished with his job.

“Good job with the cleanup, kid.

I’m sure you’ll be one hell of a rescue hero one day!” The owner said, his words coming off as belittling to Sukuna, which annoyed the younger boy to no end.

People treating him like a child was something he wasn’t gonna get used to, so he opted to ignore the belittling tone of the fool, and replied : ” Thanks, I’ll be off now.” Walking out of the barbershop, he was greeted to the sight of a city that was half-empty, half-full of people.

The half-empty part probably meant that a villain attack was happening, which was reassuring, Sukuna remarked dryly.

Walking back to his apartment, he’d open the door to find his younger brother already punching at the wall, making him chuckle fondly.

The sound snapped Izuku out of one of his “All Might” imitation sessions, a blush furiously creeping up his neck.

“Big brother, welcome back!” he yelled, embracing Sukuna in a hug.

Sukuna only patted his back, smiling with warmth at the younger boy, which caused Izuku to smile back at him.

Breaking off the hug, Izuku turned to point at the kitchen, speaking in an excited tone : ” Mom made our favorite, Katsudon!

She said that since you worked so hard every month, we’re gonna have Katsudon every once in a week!” Izuku’s mouth was watering at this point, amusing Sukuna to no end.

“Calm down, Izuku.

The food won’t run.” He replied, making his younger brother blush again, which in turn made Sukuna chuckle again.

The two walked off into the kitchen, one burdened with loneliness, the other burdened with a future that is harsher than any child has to endure.

Realistically, he saw that Itadori won against him thanks to his indomitable ideals, so he won’t make that same mistake again.
