3 – The Slick Little Girl
No wonder she’s from ISAF, rigid and dogmatic.
Ye Yuntong lazily glanced at him, lowered the fist from her lips, flashed him a smirk, and turned to enter the restroom.
Utterly roguish.

The door locked.
The man’s gaze unconsciously followed her.
He had never seen a woman like this.
Her spine was straight, but her eyes were slippery.
Yes, slippery—smooth, slick.
And brimming with a rogue’s air.
Bright, clear, youthful eyes, yet so slippery that no emotion could be discerned.
These traits should have belonged to some seasoned hustler who had spent years navigating the streets, but surprisingly, they fit perfectly on a beautiful girl, without the slightest hint of incongruity or anything off-putting.
After using the restroom, Ye Yuntong lit a cigarette. Once she finished smoking, her gaze fell on the sink, where a white lighter lay.
One blue stripe, one green stripe.
Engraved on it were three initials: QDZ.
She stubbed out her cigarette and casually pocketed the lighter.
No sooner had she left the restroom than the man returned. He stepped inside to check—his lighter was gone.
He looked at Ye Yuntong’s retreating figure and tentatively asked, “Miss, did you happen to see a white lighter?”
Ye Yuntong didn’t break her stride, lying without a hint of blush. “No.”
She walked away with an air of nonchalance.
Not long after Ye Yuntong returned to her carriage, the train pulled into the station.
A City East Station, bustling with people coming and going.
A City had two stations: West Station, a newly built high-speed rail terminal serving only bullet trains and express trains, and East Station, the old railway station, where regular-speed trains and antiquated green trains like this one stopped.
This also distinguished the crowds. Those entering and exiting West Station were mostly well-dressed successful individuals, with luxury cars visible everywhere in the square picking people up. In contrast, East Station was primarily filled with migrant workers coming to the city, its exits crowded with shouting tricycle and unlicensed taxi drivers.
Today, however, a few luxury cars were parked unusually at the East Station exit.
“Brother, why did Sister take the train to East Station instead of West Station? I heard there’s no airport where she lives, but surely there must be high-speed rail?”
A soft, delicate voice came from the back seat of the Mercedes-Benz. Sitting on the high-end leather seat was a young girl in a white dress. With delicate features and graceful manners, she looked like an innocent little fairy. Even asking such a naive question didn’t make her seem foolish but rather cute and pure.
At least, the man in the driver’s seat thought so too.
The man, around twenty-five or twenty-six, wore a suit, with sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, looking clean and refined.
He smiled at the rearview mirror and explained, “Yingying, you don’t understand. Wuli Town only has one train to A City. If they wanted to take the high-speed rail, they’d have to transfer at the provincial capital. It’s easier to just take the green train here.”
“The green train?” Xu Ying expressed surprise again, her pretty face showing a look of shock before turning sympathetic. “Then Sister must have had a tough journey. I’ll go buy her a refreshing lemonade to perk her up.”
“Alright, Yingying is so thoughtful.”
Xu Ying stuck out her tongue playfully and said softly, “I just want to make Sister happy, so she won’t dislike me.”
Ye Hengyu couldn’t help but reach out and ruffle his sister’s hair. “With Yingying being so adorable, who wouldn’t like her?”
“Then big brother must remember what you said today…” Xu Ying seized the moment to act coquettishly, “If sister comes back and everyone likes her, big brother must still cherish Yingying.”
