"Shut up. Just answer the question," Rian Sinclair said. She knew exactly what Ash Sinclair wanted to say. Evening self-study—she used to skip it whenever possible too.
Ash fell silent, pulling out his phone to check the time. "Evening study starts at six thirty. It’s only four ten right now. There’s still over an hour."
Rian knew Ash’s current school was quite far from here; even a taxi ride would take nearly forty minutes. She didn’t waste time. "Let’s grab some takeout from a restaurant so you can have a quick bite in the car. I’ll take you out for a proper meal after your evening study."
Ash opened his mouth to protest, but Rian glared at him. "Don’t even think about skipping. You have the college entrance exams in half a month. Your homeroom teacher has already called me about this multiple times."
Ash let out a low "Oh." He glanced at his phone again, suddenly looking up at Rian with sheer shock on his face.
"Spit it out," Rian said.
Ash spoke with a miserable expression. "Rian, for the next half month, all seniors have to stay for evening study until ten thirty! The other grades get out at ten. Old Landon was also asking if anyone wants to board at school."
Rian was quite shocked to hear this. Did they have that when she was in school? She couldn’t remember it at all. After a few seconds of thought, she said, "Then board at the school. Getting out at ten thirty... you can commute back and forth if you don’t mind the hassle."
Ash felt incredibly bitter. If he didn’t board at school, he would have morning study at seven and evening study ending at ten thirty. With all that time spent commuting, he’d turn into a panda with dark circles before the week was even over!
Rian knew exactly what little schemes were running through Ash’s head. If he boarded at school, she would gladly enjoy the peace and quiet. In high spirits, she hopped onto a shopping app to buy some bedding. She contacted a sales assistant she had added at the mall and ordered a relatively thick mattress along with a pure cotton four-piece bedding set, arranging for them to be delivered straight to Ash’s school.
After settling everything, she saw Ash looking as miserable and dramatic as Lady Delilah. She kicked him right in the leg. "Alright, stop moping. I’ve already sorted out your things for school. Just remember to pick them up when they arrive. I’ll drop off some clothes for you tonight. Also, let Old Landon know you’ll be staying in the dorms."
Helpless, Ash had no choice but to nod. He hadn’t even gotten to ride in the supercar yet, and now he was going to be locked up in school for half a month!
"This is an absolute outrage!" he wailed inwardly. "Heavens! Earth! Does anyone understand my suffering?!"
Because time was tight—after all, Ash still had to go back to school and handle the boarding procedures—they grabbed some random takeout before she shooed him into the car.
Standing where she was, Rian thought for a moment before transferring 1,500 to Ash for his living expenses over the next half month. His allowance used to be 1,000, but now that she had a little money to spare, it was only natural to give him a slight raise. Besides, Ash would be spending the rest of his time at school, so he wouldn’t have much to spend money on anyway. Since she had already prepared his bedding and clothes, there was no need to give him any more than that.
Rian could spend big bucks buying things for him, but she wasn’t going to give him an endless supply of cash. Even though spending money on her brother earned her cashback, throwing too much cash at him directly risked drawing unwanted attention, not to mention the system might flag it as a malicious exploitation of the rules.
DING!
System Alert: Detected that the host has tipped 1,500 to a target with a 90-point appearance score. Generating a cashback of 15,000! Please check your account!
Hearing the system’s announcement, Rian finally snapped back to reality. She took out her phone and checked her bank card’s current balance: 1,341,759,123.00.
"Very nice," she thought. "I’m officially a wealthy woman with 1.3 billion in savings."
After seeing Ash off, Rian checked the time. It was ready for her to pick up her car. She headed toward the dealership from earlier. A supercar! How incredibly cool was that!
Upon entering the showroom, the salesperson who had attended to her earlier immediately rushed over to hand her the car keys. Rian followed the salesperson to collect her supercar. With its silver-white exterior, perfectly sleek curves, a 6.3-liter V12 engine, a maximum output of 963 horsepower, and 8,000 RPM, it was simply the absolute king of cars!
Listening to the salesperson’s introduction, Rian was already too impatient to wait and hopped into the driver’s seat to test it out. Hearing the roaring exhaust of the sports car, she felt like her life had just reached its absolute peak!
Seeing her in the car, the salesperson stepped back to give her space. "Miss Sinclair, your current license plate is a complimentary gift from our boss. Congratulations on becoming an esteemed Ferrari owner."
Rian smiled. "Please thank your boss for me."
Given the boss’s generous attitude, she knew they definitely hadn’t lost money on this price, so she accepted the license plate with a clear conscience. She then stepped on the gas and drove out onto the street. The fierce, pinned-to-the-seat acceleration of the supercar left her thoroughly satisfied.
With one hand steering the wheel and the other resting against the window, Rian realized her home was completely empty. The refrigerator only held her cosmetics. Promptly, she changed direction and headed straight for the supermarket.
Vegetables, drinks, alcohol, milk, yogurt, fruit, kitchenware, a dishwasher, snacks, meat, seafood...
After finishing her shopping spree, Rian stared at the massive mountain of items and fell into deep thought.
"Umm... seems like I bought a bit too much," she mused. "It’s probably time to hire a housekeeper. Not only will it free up my hands, but they can also take care of the cleaning."
A nearby store clerk, watching the young woman stand helplessly before her massive pile of purchases, smiled and offered a solution. "Miss, we offer a home delivery service. You just need to pay the delivery fee."
Rian was thrilled to hear they delivered. That was perfect! She filled out her address, left her contact information, and handed over the thirty-something thousand worth of groceries to the clerk before driving her supercar home.
Rian greeted the security guard at the gate and had him register the vehicle’s information before cruising toward Building A. She had barely headed upstairs, returned home, and warmed her seat on the sofa when her phone rang. Forced back into action before she could even catch her breath.
The call was to inform her that the spoils from her crazy afternoon shopping spree with Ash had arrived. After she gave the security guard permission to let them through, the doorbell rang shortly after. She opened the door to find a massive pile of bags and boxes. What else could she do?
Well, there was free labor standing right in front of her, wasn’t there? Rian smiled and asked, "Could you help me move these into my rooms? I’ll pay extra."
"No problem at all, Miss Sinclair." The deliveryman hadn’t expected to make some extra cash, so he naturally wasn’t going to let this opportunity slip by. Moving one box was work, moving a whole pile was just a bit more work, right?
The deliverymen slipped on shoe covers and got right to work. They spent about an hour carrying things back and forth. By the time they finished organizing the clothes, the groceries from the supermarket had also arrived.
Seeing the two men drenched in sweat, Rian felt terribly apologetic. She transferred two thousand to each of them, treating it as a tip for their hard work and a substitute for hiring professional organizers.
After seeing the deliverymen off, Rian collapsed onto her spacious two-meter bed. Staring up at the ceiling, she was momentarily at a loss for what to do next. She had already picked out some of Ash’s clothes, planning to drop them off for him tonight.
But it was only six thirty. The takeout she had ordered earlier still hadn’t arrived, leaving her with absolutely nothing to do. She pulled out her phone to scroll through some short videos. It wasn’t long before her food finally arrived.
Rian scrolled through videos while she ate, and happened to swipe right into Miro’s live stream again. From the looks of it, he had just started broadcasting and hadn’t even loaded into a game yet.
Because she had previously spammed extravagant gifts in his stream, Rian’s entrance triggered flashy, top-tier special effects. It was impossible not to notice her.
Miro’s eyes lit up. His usually aloof voice carried a hint of softness as he asked, "Pigsy, do you want to join my squad? I’ll carry you!"
