[COUNTDOWN: 09:42] [LOCAL EVENT: Spatial Core Thermal Runaway] [Objective: Select your ‘Anchor Lead’ to execute the Magic Current Stabilization Protocol!] The pink numbers burned into the corner of Roxanne’s vision like a neon sign in a cheap dive bar.

Every second that ticked down caused a sharp, electric ping to echo behind her left earhole, making her back teeth ache.

“I am going to strangle whichever universal programmer coded this system,” Roxanne muttered, dragging herself up by gripping the jagged edge of a shattered marble pillar.Full novel: The Villainess and Her Bimbo System — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Her knuckles were raw, coated in silver ash and dried blood.

“I swear to God, I’m going to rip out their spinal cord and use it as a jumping rope.” [HOST!

THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR GRAPHIC VIOLENCE!] The System’s voice practically vibrated her brain stem, sounding like a frantic late-night infomercial host on three pots of black coffee.

[The mountain is about to turn into a high-fantasy Hiroshima!

Look at the timer!

Look at the dramatic tension!

The broody knight is glaring!

The high priest is bleeding for you!

The demon CEO is looking smoulderingly competent!

PICK YOUR PRINCESS, GIRL!

PICK HIM!] “Shut the fuck up!” she roared internally.

In the center of the sanctuary, the altar was completely gone.

Where the stone slab had sat for three thousand years, a sphere of hyper-compressed, violet spatial energy was floating three feet off the ground.

It didn’t look like fire or magic; it looked like a ball of liquid glass filled with miniature purple lightning bolts.

Every time it hummed, a shockwave rippled out, cracking the floorboards and making the heavy air smell violently of ozone and burning hair.

Alistair was the first to act.

His heavy greaves clanked against the ruined stone as he stepped into a low defensive stance, bringing his divine claymore up.

“Roxanne, stay back.

High Priest, form a suppression ring around the perimeter.

We’ll force the core back into the bedrock with divine wards.” “Force it?!” Ethan let out a harsh, wet cough, wiping a smear of dark blood from his mouth with his silk sleeve.

He took two shaky steps forward, his priest staff trembling in his white-knuckled grip.

“Alistair, you absolute meathead, that isn’t a normal mana surge!

It’s a spatial thermal runaway!

If you slam holy magic into a compressed void core, the density shock will detonate the entire tectonic plate!” “Then what do you propose, High Priest?” Alistair snapped, his jaw tight, his eyes darting frantically between the glowing violet sphere and Roxanne’s exhausted form.

“Stand here and pray while it cooks us alive?!” Above Alistair’s head, his crimson box flickered with intense, jagged red borders: Target: Alistair (Imperial Vanguard Commander) Affection Level: 60% (Extreme Stress / Overprotective Frustration) True Thought: I can’t suppress this with my sword.

I can’t protect her from a spatial bomb.

If I fail here, she dies before I can even explain why I chased her into Hell.

“Neither of you incompetent surface-dwellers has the slightest idea what you’re looking at,” Lucifer remarked smoothly.

The High Demon Lord hadn’t even unbuttoned his jacket.

He strolled casually around the perimeter of the cracking floor, his polished leather shoes crunching over shattered stained glass.

He stopped five feet from the violet core, his amber slit-pupils narrowing into thin, razor-sharp lines as he leaned lightly on his silver-headed cane.

“It’s a feedback loop,” Lucifer said, his deep baritone carrying effortlessly over the roaring ozone.

“When little bird here jammed her Royal Key into my portal tether, she pulled three hundred thousand gigajoules of unrefined Underworld antimagic up into a surface magic current designed for divine light.

It’s like pouring rocket fuel into a wood-burning stove.” “Can you fix it or are you just here to give a lecture, Lucy?!” Roxanne barked, stumbling over a chunk of stone as another shockwave hit her knees.

Lucifer tilted his head, a slow, razor-thin smile pulling at the corner of his lips.

“I could absorb the excess antimagic into my personal domain.

But my mana grid requires a living organic conduit to channel the shift.

Specifically…

a vessel carrying the Royal Key’s frequency.” [KYYAAAAAAAAHHH!] The System shrieked, exploding a burst of animated rose petals across her optic nerve.

[THE BAD BOY OPTION!

HE WANTS TO TOUCH HANDS OVER THE APOCALYPTIC BOMB!

IT’S THE CLASSIC ‘DANGEROUS ALLIANCE’ TROPE!

SELECT THE DEMON LORD!

SELECT HIM NOW!] [MANDATORY SELECTION QUEST: The Anchor’s Hand] [Time Remaining: 06:12] [Select one Lead to execute the stabilization link:] [Option A: Alistair (Brute Force Divine Barrier – 40% Success Rate)] [Option B: Ethan (Sacred Purification Grid – 35% Success Rate)] [Option C: Lucifer (Antimagic Void Siphon – 88% Success Rate)] [Option D: Malakai (Shadow Inversion Drain – 50% Success Rate)] Roxanne glared at the floating percentages in her mind.

“Eighty-eight percent?

You’re giving me an eighty-eight percent chance with the demon and thirty-five with the priest?!” [Numbers don’t lie, girlie!

Romance is a science!] “Fucking hell,” Roxanne growled out loud.

She didn’t hesitate.

She shoved past Alistair’s armored shoulder, ignoring the way his hand twitched as if to grab her coat.

“Lucifer!

Get over here!” Alistair’s head snapped toward her, his face darkening instantly.

“Roxanne, no!

You don’t know what kind of demonic contract he’s trying to trap you in–!” “Shut the fuck up, Alistair!” Roxanne yelled over her shoulder, her voice hoarse.

“Unless your giant shiny butter-knife can siphon three hundred thousand gigajoules of Hell-fuel, keep your mouth shut and let the professional work!” Ethan took a step toward her, his hand reaching out blindly.

“Roxanne…

the Church forbids dark magic conduits…

it will contaminate your body…” “My body is already ninety percent dragon grease and cheap pink juice, Ethan!

I don’t give a shit!” She marched straight up to the violet sphere, stopping right beside Lucifer.

The heat radiating off the compressed spatial core was intense, making the skin on her face feel like it was severe sunburnt.

Lucifer turned his head slightly, his amber eyes glowing with a dark, satisfied amusement.

“A practical woman.

How terribly refreshing.” He offered his right hand, removing his black leather glove with his teeth in a single, fluid motion.

“Hold on tight, little bird.

This is going to sting.” Roxanne grabbed his hand.

The moment her skin made contact with his bare palm, the Royal Key on her right forearm flared a blinding, violent gold.

At the same time, the System’s raw, stored pink buff energy surged through her veins like liquid nitrogen, clashing violently with the icy, pitch-black demon mana pouring out of Lucifer’s grip.

“Now!” Lucifer commanded, his voice dropping an octave into a guttural, ancient demon register.

“Drive the Key into the core!” Roxanne didn’t think.

She raised her left arm, her fingers curling into a fist, and slammed her glowing forearm directly into the center of the violet sphere.

*BZZZZZZZZZZT!* A sound like a tearing canvas echoed through the sanctuary.

The violet sphere didn’t explode, it began to drain, swirling around her arm and pouring straight into Lucifer’s body through their joined hands.

The black veins under Lucifer’s neck turned a fiery, incandescent purple as he absorbed the spatial heat, his jaw clenching as his horns flared outward in raw physical exertion.

[STABILIZATION PROGRESS: 30%…

60%…

90%…] [MAGICAL CURRENT RUNAWAY PREVENTED!] [QUEST COMPLETED!

Rewards: ‘Antimagic Resistance (Minor)’ & 500 Bimbo Points!] The purple sphere collapsed inward with a final, soft *pop*, leaving behind nothing but a thin wisp of grey smoke floating over the altar pit.

Roxanne collapsed to her knees, yanking her hand away from Lucifer’s grip as she wheezed for air.

Her arm felt completely numb, the Royal Key’s gold light dimming down to a faint, exhausted pulse.

Lucifer stood above her, exhaling a long plume of purple smoke from his lips, his suit coat slightly disheveled, but a dark, triumphant smirk firmly back on his face.

“See?” Lucifer purred, sliding his glove back over his long fingers.

“Flawless execution.” Alistair’s heavy boot slammed into the stone behind them.

His broadsword was pointed directly at Lucifer’s throat, the blade vibrating with pure, unadulterated holy rage.

“Step away from her, demon.

Before I forget the treaty.” “Oh, put it away, Commander,” Lucifer drawled, not even bothering to look at the blade.

“I just saved your little mountain.” “Hey…” A voice cut through the tense standoff.

It wasn’t Alistair’s, and it wasn’t Ethan’s.

It came from twenty feet away, near the shattered pillar where the Crown Prince had been dropped.

Roxanne slowly turned her head.

Julian was standing up.

He wasn’t thrashing.

He wasn’t roaring.

His golden plate armor was scorched black, and his four crystalline wings were completely gone, replaced by thin trails of black smoke rising from his shoulder blades.

But his eyes, which had been blank and wild during his rot-mutation, were wide open.

They weren’t blue anymore.

They weren’t green either.

They were a cold, pitch-black void, completely devoid of white or pupils.

“Julian…?” Ethan rasped, taking a hesitant step toward his prince.

“Your Highness?” Julian didn’t look at Ethan.

He didn’t look at Alistair or Lucifer or even Malakai.

His black, empty eyes locked straight onto Roxanne.

When he spoke, his voice didn’t sound like a human man.

It sounded like two heavy stones grinding together at the bottom of an ocean, echoing simultaneously inside everyone’s skull: “The Key…

has returned to the surface.” Before anyone could draw a weapon, Julian’s shadow, cast by the moonlight filtering through the shattered roof, detached itself from his boots.

The ink-black shadow didn’t lie flat on the marble.

It rose up, expanding into a massive, sixteen-foot serpentine silhouette that hovered behind the Prince, two massive, crimson eyes opening within the darkness of its head.

The Abyssal Dragon wasn’t a curse infecting the Crown Prince.

It was his shadow.

And it had just woken up.
