“W-Where are you going?”

Noticing that Jing Mocong’s expression did not look right—as though he were angry—Yan Yu instinctively blurted out the question.

But it was as if Jing Mocong had not heard her at all. He walked straight toward the single father.Full novel: The Wealthiest Tycoon Was Supposedly Childless, Yet I Was Pregnant with His Twins — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Watching the man’s tall figure disappear into the distance, Yan Yu could not help knitting her brows.

“Mommy, are you worried about Daddy? What’s Daddy going to do?”

Yan Shijun’s sweet little voice rang out.

Yan Yu froze for a moment.

That’s right. Jing Mocong had both hands and feet, was taller than the other man, and his physique was incomparable.

Why was she so worried about him?

“Wait, Junjun. Why did you call him Daddy?”

Coming back to her senses, Yan Yu immediately caught the key point.

Junjun had actually called Jing Mocong “Daddy.”

Yan Shiyao had already covered her little mouth.

Wuwuwu… I can’t lie. I don’t know how to help Younger Brother. He’ll have to save himself…

Under Mommy’s unwavering gaze, Yan Shijun’s dark eyes shifted ever so slightly before he broke into a bright grin.

“I want him to be my Daddy.”

“…How could you think that? Doesn’t Mommy treat you well?”

Yan Yu suddenly became worried.

The children wanted a father.

What was she supposed to do?

“Then I don’t want a Daddy anymore. Mommy, let’s go play.”

Yan Shijun quickly changed the subject. He really did not want to answer any more questions like that.

Pointing at the carousel, he said he wanted to ride it.

Yan Yu could not have been happier to let the topic die.

She immediately took the twins over to the carousel to distract them.

Yan Yu bought three tickets.

Supporting one child with each hand, she accompanied them on the ride.

After several rounds, the carousel gradually came to a stop.

Yan Yu reminded the children not to move and to stay seated while waiting for her to carry them down.

Before she had even finished speaking, a pair of long arms suddenly reached over, deftly grabbing Yaoyao and Junjun by the backs of their collars and lifting them neatly onto the ground.

“Y-You’re back.”

Yan Yu turned toward the man and blurted out the greeting.

The moment the words left her mouth, she realized how strange they sounded.

His sudden appearance had nothing to do with her.

“Mm. I went to have a chat with that gentleman.”

Jing Mocong stared at Yan Yu so directly that it was practically written across his face that he was captivated by her.

Avoiding his gaze, Yan Yu asked, “You didn’t beat him up, did you?”

“No.”

“We merely had a friendly spar.”

“I didn’t expect him to be so fragile. He went down after just one move.”

“He’s already taken his daughter home.”

“Before leaving, he asked me to pass along a message.”

“He said he’d offended you with his words earlier, that he felt sorry, and that he’d punish himself.”

After hearing that, Yan Yu was basically certain that Jing Mocong had gone to beat the man up.

Served him right.

That sanctimonious hypocrite.

When he could not have her, he turned around and slandered her, even fantasizing that she had disgraced her deceased parents.

The more Yan Yu thought about it, the angrier she became.

She leaned closer to Jing Mocong and lowered her voice.

“Was it serious?”

Jing Mocong carefully considered his wording.

“Of course not.”

“He’ll just need to stay in the hospital for a few days.”

Hearing that answer, Yan Yu was extremely satisfied.

The next second, Yaoyao and Junjun each wrapped their tiny arms around one of Jing Mocong’s long legs.

Without caring that his shoes were dirty, they plopped their little bottoms right onto his shoes and clamored for him to play with them.

Now that they were already at the amusement park, Jing Mocong no longer had any reservations about dropping the act.

Glancing at Yan Yu’s tense face, he scooped up both children and ran off.

Yan Yu: “…”

Why did it feel like Mr. Jing was radiating the guilty air of someone sneaking around?

“Mr. Jing, you’re so busy every day. Why would you come to an amusement park and even dress up as a giant bear mascot?”

“Doctor Yan, your babies want to ride the little train now.”

“So let’s accompany them first.”

His deliberate distancing left Yan Yu completely at a loss.

Still, Jing Mocong was right about one thing.

Today was all about accompanying Yaoyao and Junjun.

Nothing else should ruin their fun.

Yan Yu suppressed the questions filling her mind and focused wholeheartedly on playing with the children.

The family of four spent the day enjoying all kinds of parent-child attractions.

The twins were so excited that, by the time the sun began to set, they had completely run out of energy.

They did not even have the strength to walk out of the amusement park.

Both of them fell asleep in Jing Mocong’s arms.

Jing Mocong carried the two little ones against his chest, one arm supporting their backs while allowing their drool to soak through his shoulder, as he walked out of the amusement park.

After arriving at the hotel room they had reserved in advance, Jing Mocong gently laid Yaoyao and Junjun on the soft king-sized bed.

The two children were surprisingly sensitive.

The moment they were placed on the unfamiliar bed, they immediately opened their eyes and asked where they were.

Jing Mocong was startled and quickly explained that this was the room Mommy had booked.

Yan Yu also explained that it was the pink penguin-themed room they had chosen.

Unfortunately, the children were far too exhausted to even look around.

Their heads tilted to one side, and they immediately fell asleep again.

It was obvious just how much energy they had burned at the amusement park.

They had completely worn themselves out.

As Yan Yu lowered her head to tuck the blanket around them, she noticed that Jing Mocong’s white dress shirt was covered with tiny little shoe prints.

They had all been left there while Yaoyao and Junjun had clung to him in his arms.

Feeling embarrassed, Yan Yu said, “Your shirt got dirty.”

Following her gaze downward, Jing Mocong raised an eyebrow slightly.

“What should I do?”

“I can’t exactly go outside dressed like this.”

“You can wash it in the bathroom first, then use the hairdryer to dry it.”

Hearing him say he could not go out like that made Yan Yu feel rather guilty.

Looking at the guilt written across her face, Jing Mocong parted his thin lips.

“I don’t know how to wash it.”

“What should I do?”

“Huh?”

“You don’t know how to wash clothes?”

Yan Yu stared at him in astonishment.

“Is that so strange?”

“My clothes have always been washed by the maids.”

“I’ve never washed them myself.”

Jing Mocong answered as though it were perfectly natural.

“Then go into the bathroom, take off your shirt, and I’ll wash it for you.”

Since her own children had caused the mess, Yan Yu could only take responsibility herself.

“All right.”

The words had barely fallen when Jing Mocong immediately began undoing the buttons.

In just a few swift motions, he slipped off his shirt, revealing his broad, muscular upper body.

Yan Yu’s eyes widened.

He had looked lean while dressed.

She had never expected him to possess such a powerfully built physique underneath.

Looking at his body, the words rugged and wild instantly popped into her mind.

The next second, Yan Yu hurriedly turned her face away and muttered softly,

“Why are you taking your clothes off right here?”

“The children are asleep.”

“I don’t mind letting you see my body.”

Completely at ease, Jing Mocong placed the shirt he had taken off into Yan Yu’s hands.

“Here.”

“Wash it for me.”

Biting her lower lip, Yan Yu carried the shirt into the bathroom.

She soaked it under the faucet before gently rubbing the dirty spots clean.

Without making a sound, Jing Mocong walked up behind her.

Although he said nothing, the warmth of his breath disturbed her.

Seeing him standing behind her in the mirror, Yan Yu immediately felt uncomfortable.

“Why are you standing behind me?”

“You should go sit outside.”

“I’ll bring it to you after I’ve finished washing it.”

“I want to watch how you do it.”

“So I can learn.”

As he spoke, Jing Mocong looked at her with unbelievable gentleness filling his handsome face.

Yan Yu quickly looked away and concentrated on scrubbing the stained areas.

Thanks to her efforts, the shirt was soon clean.

Holding the freshly washed shirt, Yan Yu turned around and smiled.

“Just hang it on a hanger.”

“Then I’ll blow it dry with the hairdryer.”

After washing a single shirt, her cheeks had turned rosy red.

They looked as though they had been brushed with rouge.

They also resembled the most enchanting peach blossoms blooming on spring branches.

Even more, they reminded him of five years ago…

That night when she had lain beneath him, wrapping her arms around him with an innocent, captivating expression as they had made love.

Jing Mocong’s lower abdomen tightened slightly.

His gaze darkened.

Without blinking, he stared straight into Yan Yu’s eyes.

It felt as though countless invisible threads had silently intertwined their gazes, leaving each of them able to see only the other.

Gradually, Yan Yu realized they had been looking at each other for far too long.

Her heartbeat was growing faster and faster.

She lowered her eyes and reached toward the clothes hanger hanging on the wall.

Suddenly, Jing Mocong’s large hand caught hers.

In one swift motion, he pinned her gently against the wall.
